Fixing 10 Businesses in 10 Days ($150K Lawn Care Company)

A vlog-style documentary of Mike Andes and his team traveling by RV across the U.S. to help turn around 10 struggling small businesses in 10 days. The episode mixes on-the-road logistics, behind-the-scenes footage of turnarounds and coaching, team interactions, and practical business advice aimed at lawn-care/home-service owners (pricing, delegation, revenue targets, and growth mindset).

I'm driving this RV from Raleigh, North Carolina, to Bellingham, Washington.
Sorry for your light on them. They just leave a ticket on there.
Our goal is to turn around 10 businesses in the next 10 days. My question is, what are you doing?
Oh, bro, it's free.
It's free. Here's the good news. All of that can be accomplished without franchising. And I know that's hard to hear. My name is Mike Andes, and I travel the country fixing struggling businesses. And today, I'm taking you behind the scenes as we take this RV and do just that.
What he said at the end is a result of us coming to the tournament show. The tournament show is a result of us making more money. So, like, why would I not make that the goal?
What you're doing is extremely important and impactful. And they're not just people who mow lawns. They.
They're. It's much more than that.
And so there's a lot of people in the world that do a lot of good things that are sponsored by people that make a bunch of money, but someone needs to make the money. And so sometimes it's like, my rule is that, like, I will be the person that makes the money.
This guy working first thing in the morning. I'm just pretending that's at a campsite.
Not bad.
It got pretty cold.
It's actually. It's way nicer than that Walmart parking lot, I'll tell you that. Need to take a quick shower. And the great thing about sleeping at a campsite is also that there's a shower, you know.
So I'm making eggs and bacon and toast right there. So if we know if you want.
Camera when the firefighter is going.
Okay, that's when I started filming.
That. See that black hose? Nope. Up top.
Right there.
Yeah. Pull.
Is that supposed to happen?
Y.
Okay.
Attach the side with the click. Oh, we're not close enough. We need to back up another two feet.
So, yeah, you'll take off that tap, put that deep in the hole, as deep as you can get to go.
I want you to know I appreciate you, man, very much. Want you to know I appreciate you fellas very much.
Lots of love.
There's spectators, and then there's.
I could never do this job.
So we finished the turnaround last night, the coaching part. Now we're headed to the.
Job site in the shop just to get B roll. So videos of them loading up and then actually doing the work. Let's run a little bit. Where I see the chicken and egg sit is like, in order to be able to get to 1.5, Devin's got to delegate. He needs to raise prices. Yeah, that's the plan. Today we are driving from Iowa all the way to Iowa. Iowa. Oh, Des Moines. It's not far. Drive. Today is the first day that we will get back, probably by like four or five somewhere in there and have a decent evening to work out and chill out.
That is the plan. Rubber band, what are your thoughts on Harley?
I feel like I was excited, expecting it to be more luxurious. I'm not gonna lie. The way that Zach was explaining the RV to me, I was like, wow, dude, we're gonna be living in luxury. Even in the vlog. He's like, oh, yeah, in two days, we're gonna have unlimited space. I'm like, huh.
Interesting definition.
Sleep is a killer, but it's all good.
Thanks, man. I'm going.
Michael's like, why don't we just leave.
The black pump open? Don't say it on camera. Someone went to the bathroom last night, like 3:55.
Not it.
Someone did. Not it. Someone totally did. Because I could feel the whole building shaking.
Oh, no, that was Francis changing the batteries.
Yeah.
Ah, thank you. Okay. I knew Someone was 357.
I was up pretty late dumping the footage, charging the batteries, switching them. The thing that we never account for time budget wise, is always at the end of the day when you have to back up footage. That's what always eats into your sleeping time. Everybody else got more sleep. Hour and a half to two hours more sleep than me. It's three, but, you know, somebody's got to back up the footage.
The Osmos are great. I'll give you mine.
It's up to you. It's your channel.
I'll use the os, fill the boot.
Whatever you think is best.
I'm just gonna say if we do. I do have a two o'.
Clock.
Me, I'd love to be on. But also that's when we're scheduled to be doing coaching.
There.
Like 12:30 right now. But then you're like.
Sorry if we were in layers.
No, you're good. Our principal, he had seen him. I don't know if it was on camera. He saw the vehicle out here, so.
He was just like, wasn't sure what was going on.
So leave us outside and check it out.
Oh, what the heck. I was hoping for some drama, too. Nice.
Appreciate it.
No problem.
Thank you. Dude, if I had kids, I want them coming to this school. Principals on the security cameras, watching for RVs in the parking lot, creepy little RV.
Ours just look a little sketch like.
Oh, man, they just leave a ticket on there. Keeping the textbook safe. Dude, he's out there in his office.
Just scrolling through every screen.
You think it's one of those, like, ones where he just has all the screen? He's like sitting there like this.
He's like, I got another one on the north gate.
Hey, everyone, it's Mike Annis. I'm in the studio. And just so you know, all the turnarounds that we show on the vlog this week, we are going to be having the full episode of each business being shown over the next couple months. So you can expect those on the regular Friday release on the main channel. So make sure you subscribe. I also want to say a massive thank you to all of the community that makes this trip possible. All the travel expenses, the food, all that's completely free. To the owners that we're. We're talking to and trying to help them in their business. So thank you to all the home service web design clients, members at Copilot CRM, and members of Augusta Nation. They're the ones that really make this possible. So thank you so much for your support and for making this dream a reality.
Yesterday we did two turnarounds. Today we're kind of doing the same thing, which is we're doing the B roll at this location, but then we're driving to Des Moines and doing coaching in the evening again.
Which is.
You.
Know, I'll jump paddock with you.
Last year we organized Q4, but this year, you know, I have all the research and knowledge I got. I've done Q4, and I'm trying to make this my best Q4 yet, but I do an area's overseeing.
Thank God it's going good by doing.
Christmas lights because, hey, Q4's collapsed last year. What can I do to make sure Q4s everyone else?
I'm not good at this stuff. So I'm like, you know what? What I'm good at is selling is looking at the cameras. You know what I mean? Making myself, you know, look different from all these other competitors.
And then essential. He left.
Yes.
Kind of leaving you. That's probably why this year. You think he plateaued in revenue?
Well, no, he left. He left two weeks ago.
Two weeks ago.
Two weeks ago? Yeah. He left two weeks ago.
Wow.
That wasn't in the century, you know what I mean? You realize that it's not just about cutting grass enough.
Because, look, I should not be in this industry.
Look at me.
I should have been a YouTuber because.
All I wanted to be in my.
Life for the past 10 years.
I want to be a software as well.
But that failed.
Lawn care was a huge scared of the mower itself.
My original goal is to be a freshman soccer player. Or 13 or 23,000.
My goal.
I'm okay, you know what you got?
Soccer player, YouTuber, real estate. Okay.
Yeah. So I'm tracking so from ages of 13, 23. That was my goal.
I know it's tight, dude. The amount of debt that he has.
I think you do a really good job showing your real fear. It's real fear he'll get like $100,000 in debt if he doesn't change.
Instead of thinking, oh, I've got to keep making TikTok on YouTub. You make a great business and then down the road it'll afford you the life that you want to be able to do other stuff if you want to. But this is the grind phase 100% right? Like this is the next three years is like doing some of these things is not things you are comfortable or want to do. But if you do those things, you'll have a wife and a $500,000 business by the time you turn 30. So you're doing, you know, a million dollars in revenue. Adding a completely different line or brand is tough. And then you bought a bob ch.
30 something thousand dollars of debt, hasn't used it.
We've always worked like this year, I think we worked an average of three days.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, it's nowhere near to where the four or five days, you know, the 35 hour budget hour is nowhere near that. We only worked three days so far. So three days a week? Yeah, three days a week.
So do you do something else in addition to the business? No, I don't see how that's economically viable when you have $3,000 a month of loan payments. So my question is, how are we like when you say he goes out and works all day, what are you like, tell me, like, not like I'm marketing, sales, what are you doing? But to make just like break even, he needs to that at least 10,000amonth in revenue. At least. Minimum, minimum, minimum. And he's like nowhere close to that with someone working two, three days a week.
What am I doing? I wake up, I go to the gym, you know, because I have to, you know, take care of myself first. I go to the gym and then, you know, I'm going to social media. I then think of ideas to do with TikTok videos for business. And then I just try to think of ways to generate leads.
But yeah, so you will doing that, you will generate enough leads to keep yourself busy. You'll stay at 150 to unlock the next level of growth. With that, what you're doing now will not work. The reason I say is because you've done it now for three years. And so I don't want you to spend another three years doing that thinking you're going to grow this business to 800,000, because it won't.
He's only seeing them in the success that they have now, not the journey to get there, you know, so it's like he was almost like jumping ahead in the journey to get there, and you were like, wake up, wake up, buddy. There's a lot between here and there.
It will just come down to focus. And so I know what it's like to be in your 20s, especially coming from nothing, and see all these people that are winning in those categories, whether it's soccer, YouTube, real estate, like, oh.
I can do that.
I can do that. You can. I believe you can. You've now put three, four years towards this. And if you just stick it with the next three years or four years, you'll actually get the benefit.
I feel like the hard thing with listening to some of these influencers too, is that they'll throw around numbers like, just go to 500,000, just go to 800,000, just go to a million, and, like, you almost get numb to what that number actually means. Yeah, like, $500,000 is a half a million. That's a home. Yeah.
That's like a nice house. It's more than my house.
Yeah.
So right now, though, like, with the other gentleman leaving, I'm assuming he's basically working full time.
Not really full time. He just works, I think, for us. For me, two, three days.
The current guy.
The current guy.
And you don't do any revenue?
Me, myself, I do no revenue. I do no revenue.
So based upon the numbers, that means that you're not. You really can't produce more than seven to $9,000 a month in revenue if he's only working two to three days a week.
Okay, this is the voice recapper. Eric. He's a big personality. He's vlogged everything. He's like, hey, Brianna, do you have an address? That'd be cool. He's vlogged at everything. He's like a huge, like, backlog of all the stuff we do to turn around. So that'd be Cool to want that. He's kind of guessing on all of his pricing. He's just shooting in the dark, and hopefully it lands.
Because, like. Like I said, like, my goal, like, I want to make sure, like, I want to get leads. And I know, like, my strong point isn't on the field. Okay, it isn't. And I know I'm like, okay, you know, what if I just post videos? And.
Okay, so. So I.
Okay, great.
I just need to understand, and I don't mind you saying, you know, do you not want to be in the field or do you not have the skill to be in the field? I'm okay with both.
I. I'm pretty sure I don't have the. I don't want to be on the field.
Fine. That's awesome. That's all I need to know. I got you, boss. Because if you're like, hey, I need to make more money, I would be pushing very hard when you're at this size for you to be in the field producing revenue at 70, 80, 90 an hour, right? Because, like, you by yourself, should be able to produce $100,000.
100%.
And so that's where I'm in my brain. I'm like, oh, you and this helper should be able to produce all this revenue without getting another person. That being said, if I know you're like, hey, I don't want to be in the field. Yeah. Now, if I told you today you're gonna have to be in the field starting tomorrow full time for 5 years, would you be like, okay, well, this. I just want to belong here. Is that what you would do? And it's okay to say no. I just need to know. I need to know what your goals are.
If you were to tell me that for the next five years, I'd be like, man, I don't want to be.
Alone, because I will.
I will make this according to your goals. I'm not going to tell you how to run your business or what your goal should be. So what I'm hearing is you do not want to be in the field. We want to get the business. 800,000. Delegate a lot of that, and then be able to focus on social media.
Like, because, like, some people might think that, like, you're just out here pushing, like, the Augusta model, right? You know, and, like, you know, scale. You're in the truck for this one. And once you hit this, you're gonna get an operation. You're gonna hire a guy, right? That's like the Augusta model.
This one was so Anti the Augusta, it was like. Like, if a franchisee did this thing, you kicked out, like, so fast. So it's cool to see that, like, you're giving actual, real advice to their dream and vision. Right. Compared to, like, trying to force people into your hands. Right, right.
Awesome.
Thank you. No, but it's an honor, man. Thanks so much. Spend time with your date.
I.
Show me around, man. Thanks so much. You know, and it's beautiful because, you know, I remember my girlfriend. She funny enough, she was like, are you sure you want to do this? Are you sure you want to go out here and be on camera and see the comments? And I told her I do. I do, because it's the thing. I'd rather want to look like a fool in front of everyone so I can take care of my family, you know, I'd rather mess up today for a better tomorrow. I want to know my mistakes that I'm doing right here. So I know tomorrow's going to be better. So I know this Q4 this winter I'll survive in.
Five years ago, if you watched the video that's about to come out, you'd be like, I'd die to be in that guy's shoes. And in five more years, if you do what we talk about about, it'd be this, you'll feel the same way, man. I'd die to be there right now. I'd die to have an $800,000 business.
That's awesome.
You know, thanks for coming. Thank for.
Thanks.
Time out of your guys today. In general. Thank you, guys. You know, I mean, you guys are out here all day, you know, traveling. So in general, like, this must be tough for you guys. So in general. Thank you. Thank you.
I mean, Zach is the one that's driving ultimately, so if he feels really.
Energized today, okay, let's just then make a game. The decision after dinner, see how he feels. But by the time we, like, get the four Ls and the thing done, go work out, which we're gonna do a long one. Seven o' clock at least, and then dinner, eight. So it is up to him. Yeah, I think it's probably his call.
I just don't. I feel like if we are gonna sleep, we're gonna sleep better in the night than at six o' clock and beyond. I agree.
Like, once we're up in the morning, it's.
Yeah.
Where are we?
Here are my thoughts.
Oh, my God, that's So far.
We're three hours away from our next person.
Yep.
Which is a Franchisee that we don't need to get to until 2pm tomorrow.
Well, we could also accelerate our timeline a little bit because I think we're not getting to our final spot at lovers until like 10, 9 or 10. You're right.
10.
So we could definitely accelerate the entire timeline. You know what I'm saying? Hours away.
I think why this is scheduled. Did we schedule like that because we thought we need to do Eric's.
Exactly. So like we're ahead now because we did Eric's fully today, which was a great idea.
I advocate for staying here because we know that we can park at this Walmart, we can restock on groceries and tomorrow morning we won't be super pressed and we can just still get there on time at like 11.
Okay, cool. I'm down with that. Yeah, cool. Okay, I'm down for that.
We just got to find a place to do four framework and mic mints after this.
A truck stop.
Well, when we're at the Anytime Fitness.
Let'S head towards the anytime Fitness. In this kind of park.
Who breaks the fuzz?
Oh, never mind.
Never mind.
Mama mia.
Do you guys break the f before putting it in the water? Who's got its help?
I actually didn't even know I was.
Supposed to say mama mia.
Faster. But I guess you want to eat another 30 minutes.
So.
It'S time to look for.
Yeah.
Hey, that was a second.
By now they're done.
I think.
So if you had another million dollars per year.
Yeah. I would just assume the same payout to Tori because it's like such a huge chunk of our revenue. Like I would. I would be shocked if we scaled beyond what he scaled currently without like a major change.
Let me make the question easier. If you had a million dollars more per year for the media team to grow, that's it. What would you do?
Great meeting. 40 minutes.
Spend a million dollars just like that. That drive across the Rockies is where I a little concerned about the rv.
Really?
Yeah.
So cuz it's like up and down situation or like right now it's just like we drive all this up, right? Oh, it's the lawn and garden situation.
Zach did mention it was struggling uphill.
Yeah.
Those chicken thighs slapped.
I'm not going to lie.
Facts.
They don't have the ice cream.
A broken man.
They got no.
No ice cream.
I'm gonna go back to look.
I looked like five times.
Everything else is gonna be right here. Stop.
Shane aroma.
This is a little.
So I had. All right.
All right.
We're saving seven bucks. On this.
Boom.
This is why we work out core strength.
That.
