How to Use Facebook Videos to Get More Lawn Care Customers! [REAL EXAMPLE]

This is a short YouTube video (by Mike Andes) in which the presenter watches and reacts to a newly produced Facebook ad video for Augusta Lawn Care. Andes explains different styles of Facebook ad video (simple camera-to-face 'video' vs more creative approaches), will play the ad, and then break down the creative choices so viewers can apply them to their own lawn-care marketing.
I'll go back a bit. You're good. That doesn't live there anymore.
Hey everyone, It's Mike Andes. Landscapebusinesscourse.com today I'm at command center and I'm actually with the media guys and the air looking at a new Facebook ad video that we are using at Augusta Lawn Care. I'm looking at this for the very first time. I'm gonna react to it but hopefully you can learn what needs to go into your Facebook ads. So as you run these and you're making videos, you can start to think about the different ways of showing to your audience, showing to your customers that you'd be a good option for them to do their lawn or do their landscaping. Now I've talked about in the past doing the old fashioned camera to face. I call it video and that is literally just being like, hey, my name is Mike from Augusta Lawn Care. That works really well on Facebook ad video, honestly. But today so many of you have been asking on landscape business course, the Facebook group, you know, I want to see a video, I want to see like some inspiration for making a Facebook ad that's a little more creative. So I'm going to show you ours today. I have not seen it so we're going to watch it through the whole thing and then we're going to kind of break down as we go throughout the video kind of different why we were doing certain things just so you can learn and you can kind of learn from that experience and then make your own video or join Augusta and get this done for you. So alright, so let's go ahead and, go ahead and just watch the video and react to this.
Hey Max, here the grass is growing and we are mowing book with Augusta Lawn Care today. Either give us a call or go online and get your quote within 24 hours. All right, see you later.
Alright, so very cool. Let's kind of go through this video a little bit more in depth and walk through a few things. So obviously this first shot here we're trying to get the essence of our brand and for most of our companies the essence of our brand is really two things. That is going to be your uniforms on your employees and your trucks. Those are really going to be the thing that makes you stand out. So at Augusta we've chosen to have yellow trucks with the big Augusta on the side because that's what people are, we are known for as well as our yellow uniforms. We all wear yellow. But what we've added now and what I feel very, very important throughout this video, it's our very first time ever doing this. That is animating Max. So we're gonna continue to animate Max in 3D, but right now, we've created where he can actually talk. And this is actually synced up with our editor's mouth as they're talking, to be able to be talking. You know, Max is our mascot in the bottom left here, this golden retriever talking and saying the ad kind of out loud, kind of like, you know, the Geico commercial, the Aflac commercial, having a duck or a gecko, that's kind of what we're going for. So there's three major components of this branding play that we're doing with this video. Because this is really a branding video. It's not really direct sales. It's a branding play. Number one, our trucks. We have a lot of the trucks being shown the yellow trucks, our yellow uniforms, and our employees doing the work. And then the third thing is Max. When people think about Augusta and a lot of your company's names, they don't remember the name. They remember what they associate with that name. For example, they're going to associate a yellow truck, yellow T shirts, and a dog on the side of the truck with Augusta. That is our objective with having a mascot, is to be able to have something that's recognizable, identifiable, and memorable. When it comes to a customer that sees your trucks all over the place, they don't remember the name. Even Augusta. It's the yellow trucks with the dog on it. That's what we're trying to go for. So we're trying to integrate Max more and more into our marketing, into our branding, and really embracing the fact that that's what people are. Are going to know us for. So embrace whatever is making you different, whether it be you're young, whether it be the color of your trucks, like, if they're pink or whatever, whatever is unique about your business, try to make that the highlight of the video and work your work around that. So you can say in the first shot here, kind of showing the truck, next thing, showing the employees. So you can see just one after the other, we're showing yellow, yellow uniform to employees and really trying to highlight even the fact that, you know, they're happy, they look like they're fun to work with. These are the type of people that most customers on an ad like this, especially in a happy environment like we're trying to portray with Max here, is we want to work with these people. And so, in my opinion, being able to show that is really Going to be a reflection of the type of customers you attract as well. If we can be somewhat lighthearted, we don't take ourselves too seriously, we can make a joke about ourselves. Typically not going to attract the person that is a super cynical, always like maniacal about their property and making horrible reviews online because they're so pessimistic. So let's go ahead and go. Keep going through this. So again, just kind of showing off again. Every single clip basically has one of two things, either uniforms being shown or trucks being shown. And then we're really highlighting the employees as well as the work we do. So here, obviously some really cool shots of the drone and this is actually shot here. You can actually see in the background here. This is in Bryant, Arkansas. So we actually traveled out to their place in Arkansas and actually shot these videos and these clips. And what's really cool is we have kind of shots from all over the country throughout this video. But if you don't have that, that's fine. Take the general concepts of the branding that we're trying to do. Take the things that make you different than everyone else. The color of your trucks, your uniforms, the services you offer, how old you are, the type of people you hire, certain types of services that are really unique that no one else can do. Highlight those things and ask yourself, when someone thinks about your lawn care business, what is that thing that actually sticks in their mind? Is it a catchy name? What branding element is going to be memorable for us? It's Max, our mascot and that's why we want to have him in our ads as well as the fact that we have yellow trucks. That's what people know us for and that's what we want to highlight in these type of ads. This is a branding ad. This is not the type of ad. We are going to be doing the direct sale type version, which is, hey, click the link below and we'll get an estimate within 24 hours. And you're just very much of a face to face. This is much more of a branding play, a long term play. I'm willing to let this run on Facebook or on YouTube and collect a lot of brand awareness around Macs, our yellow trucks, our yellow uniforms, and the Augusta brand as a whole. So I hope this encouraged you to make your own video, get creative, make your brand look good in front of all of your potential customers. And if you don't want to make videos like this, join Augusta and we'll do it for you. So thanks so much everyone. I'm Mike Andes, we'll see you in the next video. That's.
