IM IN THE BOOK??

Vlog-style YouTube video by Mike Andes (with Brianna) documenting the sale of a Mount Vernon property, a tour of the house (three stories plus basement living area and an on-site tiny house), and the financial outcome used to fund a new headquarters. The hosts also share domestic updates (lap desks, cooking a nine-pound brisket, Costco supplies, exercise), brief behind-the-scenes on Mike’s book (on the seventh draft; previous draft finished late-night), and a short withheld update about the new command-center building. The property facts: originally bought for $550,000 (~3.5 years earlier), sold for $800,799, house >3,000 sq ft, and roughly $150,000 invested in outdoor/tiny-house/garage upgrades. Tone is conversational, nostalgic, and upbeat.

All right, everyone, big day here on the ranch. We sold the house. This is down in Mount Vernon.
If you have not known. This. This. I bought this, like, three and a half years ago. We'll take you on a little tour. But it is now sold. There's front sign out there. It's for sale. No longer. We signed this morning. The money is in transit. It'll be here in two days. Now, this house is pretty old, but it was completely remodeled, and it's three stories. There's a base, an attic upstairs with a couple rooms, there's a main store, and this is a basement. Then the basement is like a complete living area with a bedroom and a kitchen, the whole nine yards. So it's over 3,000 square feet. So it's really nice, brand new concrete. So here's the deal. The numbers. The numbers really quick. We spent $550,000 when I bought it, and then we sold it for 800,799. But when we got this place, this was all this grass. It's one acre. All of this was grass. And so I built a fence, all of that. In the back, there is gravel area. We used to run Augusta Lawn Care, Mount Vernon location out of there. And then we put the tiny house back there. So do you want me to show you the tiny house? But first, this is. We also put new roof on the garage because it was falling apart. But see, you can see here. This goes downstairs. It's like a whole other unit, like living area. So you could technically rent this out as three units. The tiny house downstairs, and the main house. So the question is, why are we selling it? Well, we need to use the money for the headquarter building. So now we have enough cash for the whole headquarter building to be built from start to finish without any debt. Very cool. Now, because you're part of the vlog, we will show you the tiny house area. Very beautiful. But you can see a nice lawn. Wonderful looking tree. Like, look at the tree. Let's go. Beautiful tree. The lawn is a little bit patchy right now because it has not been watered since we had the offer on the house. This is a tiny house. We got a board that always falls down. This thing is completely.
What. What's it called? Furnished. Like, they could put this on Airbnb tomorrow and get 200 bucks a night. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Now, that's problematic. Ooh. Well, see, this is not my problem anymore. This would be my problem, but it is not my problem.
This works. But Right now there's a whole bunch of leaves inside of it.
Where'd the COVID go?
I don't know where the COVID went. Not my problem. We've signed. It's closed. It is done. But they will have to drain that out. I don't know where the COVID went. Someone stole it.
Anyways. Someone sold a hot. Hot tub cover. They have to figure that out. But a nice seating area. We built this whole structure. So I think I put probably 150 grand into the gravel thing, the tiny house, all of this situation. And then I painted the inside of the house. It was like completely remodeled but nice. New set of paint was nice, but yeah, this is very nostalgic. A little bit sad.
But as of tomorrow, this will no longer be mine.
Looks go. So this is the tiny house. Oh yeah. I'm taking my slides and shorts. Let's go. So this is the tiny house. That's it. Thank you for watching the vlog.

Check it out. You people who work from home will probably know what this is right off the rip. Being that Mike will be working on his book a lot in the next month, he might be working from home a little bit more. So I got him a lap desk. I actually bought two and one came in the other day. So this is the second one. This one has like this thicker pad at the bottom for your wrist and some place to hold your phone. And it's like a darker wood color. The one I got him more recently is like white marble and it just has a little lip here to catch your laptop from slipping. And this one also has a little area for your phone and for your mouse pad too. So these are the two. I got him both just in case he wanted the little, little wrist rest. But I might just keep both anyway, even if he likes one more than the other. And then I'll just use the other one. But yeah.

Had to swap out the chicken breast because the other one had a leak.
Little life hack to get more steps in, park as far away from the building as possible. The downside to buying the necessities from Costco like toilet paper, paper towels, etc. Is how many.
They include in the pack. 12 rolls. We live in a small apartment, so I need to figure out where to store all this. I prepped some chicken, as you guys saw, and right now I have a nine pound brisket in the oven baking. There's six and a half hours left on it. That was the huge brisket that we got from our cow that I showed in several vlogs ago whenever I picked up the meat. We'll see how it turns out. I've never made a brisket that big. I've never made a brisket at all, but especially one that size for that matter. So I was trying to like figure out what the best way to bake it was or make it and baking seemed like the best option because we obviously don't have a smoker here. So it is all tucked away. Wow. Please ignore how dirty the oven glass is, but I will keep you posted on how that turns out.
Fit all 12 rolls, how to stack them, but you know, we make it work.
One more time. I heard the manager's pretty cool.
Okay, ready, Go.
But you're the manager.
Your acting skills are really.
I'm very sweaty, as you can see. And it's leg day. Just for fun, enjoy this clip of me miserably going through goblet squats.
Folks, we have some semi bad news for you.
Yeah, we do.
We're not able to show you the new command center building in this video just yet. Gotta wait until possibly next week. Something came up. Oh, sorry. Kind of anti climatic. Yeah, very anticlimactic. But hey, you'll see it at some point. Okay? Don't shoot the messenger. There's just some things that need to be communicated and finalized. So until then, I will still hold on to the footage. What is Michael doing right now?
Looking on the book.
Can they see this part?
Yep. Just can't see this part. Seventh draft. We're in the seventh draft.
He's on the seventh draft.
Finish the sixth draft yesterday. Thursday night. Well, Friday morning at 1:30am this is.
How our nights go. Okay? We. We go to bed. Brianna rolls over, lights are off, sound machine is on. And then the other night I heard a little rustle and Mike gets his lap desk.
We have a second one now.
And he brings his laptop. And he still works, so. But that's like how he gets to be the most productive because the whole team's asleep. Everyone's asleep.
Naturally at like 11 you can focus. No dings and bells, so no fires to fight.
That's been like the past week or so. So he's been locking in every night and going to bed pretty late, but he's crushing it.
And Branna got herself a dedication in the front of the book.
And he won't tell me what it is. I don't know what it is. He did tell me what picture he used though. Yeah, there's this one picture.
I had to get it wife approved.
Well, he wasn't gonna tell me until I guessed, because I was trying to think of what his favorite picture of us was, and it's the one of us walking at Lake Padden. We're holding hands and looking in the same direction. If any of y' all have seen that picture, that means you follow Mike's YouTube channel and you're a real one, because he's posted it before. But I don't. Yeah, I'm not allowed to know the dedication. It's apparently not even a hint. Not even, like, the first three words.
Actually, I can give you the first.
Three words in the beginning.
Thank you, too.
Okay, last three words. Middle three. Middle three, middle three, last three.
It's like five sentences.
Oh, thank you. To wife Brianna. We are going to work a little bit longer and then go run Oyster Dome, because the Spot Barton is in two weeks. Two weeks from today. I ain't ready. Just kidding. I'm so ready. My knees are gonna be great. We're gonna crush it. You have any closing thoughts?
Oh, this is the end of the vlog.
Probably.
Hmm.
Let me think.
Do we have anything to share?
Not really. Well, I do have things to share, but I can't tell you.
That's not fair.
I have to wait. Bam. We need surprises.
That is it for the vlog.
Rock on.
Bye.
