Mike Andes (Augusta Nation) provides operational updates and answers franchisee questions. He describes planned changes to Pro Shop printing files (redesigns, dual stamps, added QR codes, live customization service via media team) expected over the next weeks/months; discusses pros/cons and high variability of Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) as a hyper-local but unpredictable channel; and outlines that a Command Center Dashboard (live estimates/metrics) is a longer-term goal pending integrations with Super and P4P and leveraging Zooper. He also discusses Zooper/Service Autopilot payment workflows, card-on-file notification options, and a workaround of setting deposit thresholds as low as $1 to require a card on file.

Good morning, Augusta Nation. A couple things to go over and then there's some questions that came in on the form. I hope you're all having a fantastic day. I mentioned it on the Facebook group, but we are going to making some changes to the Pro Shop printing files. First and foremost, we're going to kind of go overboard with the every door, direct mail postage requirements. What we had in the past worked at most places. Once you ask them a second time or sometimes we'd have issues though. So we're just going to put both stamps on both the horizontal and the square one. And so it's kind of a little bit of overkill, but we got to redesign all of them. So we're going to work on that. We're also going to add some QR codes and make some slight design adjustments and just improve them. So those will be going up over the next couple of weeks, down the road, probably the next couple months. We are building a way for a lot of you said, hey look, we don't have Photoshop, we don't want to figure out Photoshop, we don't want to pay for Photoshop. And we'd rather just like the media team, can we just like get them to customize a specific template if we want services changed or something like that. So what we are going to be working on right now is for a way for you to actually customize it live similar like Pro Shop. But Pro Shop wouldn't allow for design elements be moved around. You need Photoshop. So what we're working on right now and Zach is working on creating is a space where you can see live, the changes are going to be made and then it sends us the form and then we do it in Photoshop and then send it to you. So working on that and then whatever the cost is would just be minimal to cover the cost of the media team to put your Photoshop files, send you all the documentation, png, PDF and Photoshops. So that is in the works and it would again just be a minimal cost, just hopefully allow you to not have to go get a Photoshop subscription or hire a designer. And so if you want to change certain things on a specific print template, you can do that. So we working on that. But in the meantime prior to that we're going to get the QR codes added as well as adding a different horizontal and square stamp to the every door direct mail. So there's just no issues whatsoever. So far. I only know of one person that was not allowed to send it. Everyone else, they Kind of just ask someone else and they let them do it. But I just don't want that ever happening again. I feel bad about that. So we're going to revamp all those within the next week or two. Those should be updated. Next thing. We've got some questions here. Let me go ahead and just pull these out.
Share screen. Boom.
Cool. All right, first question comes from Trey. Just pull this down here. What kinds of results in general, is Augusta Nation seeing from every door direct mail? Yeah. So those of you have asked me this one on one, and I think I mentioned a couple times, the only reason I'm not a big fan of every door direct mail is because I can't control it very well. I can't control what day of the week it goes out. I can't. Well, you can kind of control that, but you can't control the weather on that day. You can't control whether or not there's another 500 political flyers along with yours in the mailbox. And then you just become one of many. Like, you can't control a lot of these other factors. And the biggest one is weather. Like, if on a good day of weather, if all your things are delivered, you're going to get a better response rate. And so it's just hit and miss. And I don't like that. That's why I. I don't want to put all my eggs in that basket. I like every door because the amount of targeting that it can have and being able to go after very specific routes, and now with nextdoor not having the ability to do neighborhood by neighborhood, it further compounds the value of every door direct mail in my mind, because it's still the one thing that we can get very, very hyper localized and targeted on in terms of demographics. So the problem with it, though, is, like, literally you might send one mailer out and it just crush you. Send the same mailer out the next week to a different neighborhood, and it does nothing. Like zero, like, no leads whatsoever. And so the biggest reason, my biggest thing against ever direct mail is I don't like striking out when it comes to advertising. I don't like spending money and then just literally not getting anything from it. I'd rather almost overpay a little bit on something else, but know that the more I spend, the more I'm actually getting leads. So that's why I would tend to even use Facebook, for example, because I know that there's at least clicks coming to my website. I'm getting value, and there's going to be A percentage of people that will become customers. Whereas every door direct mail, like, literally, I've seen it, you send a thousand out one week and a thousand out the next, and they completely are different results, like 110% different. Same exact flyer, same exact postcard. And so I don't like the variability. It's very hard to predict. It's very hard to know should I send it four times, should I send it twice? Only one time. So that has been difficult. And then like how many times you send it. Also, there's lots of variability in that. I know some people are big believers in it four or five times and it works well. The third, fourth and fifth time, they actually get conversion. And then other people, the first and second one, they get decent results. On the third, fourth and fifth one, they send them out and no one responds. So there's so much variability. And I honestly feel like some of it has to do with the postmasters and how they're delivering these and where they're putting them and where they're slotting them, if they fold them, if they're throwing it in with a newspaper, versus actually separate. So lots of different variability that I'm not a huge fan of. Every door direct mail for that reason. On the flip side, it's the only very, very hyper localized, you know, ammo now that we have because Nextdoor is gone to zip codes instead of by the neighborhood. So. All right, next question.
Winter Garden. What is the status of Command Center Dashboard for franchisees? Yeah, this is a long ways off. Honestly, we have to fully integrate with super before this is even a possibility. And when you're talking about the dashboard Command Center, I imagine you mean seeing live, like the minutes estimates, number estimates, stuff like that. That's a ways off. We need to be completely integrated Super. Then we need to integrate with P4P. Then we'd be focusing on something like a dashboard for Command Center. Zooper already has some really cool functionality where it's every single time someone is logged in to someone's account. We know who in Command center is versus right now. In Service Autopilot, everyone's under one account, which is Mike Andes, because Service Autopilot only allows us one certified advisor. So there's already steps being taken every time someone from Command center logs into your account, it's tracking their timing as well as who it is and where they're going around the software. So that's great just to be able to see what's happening, see how long they're in everyone's account, stuff like that. But down the road, this is definitely something that we would want to do. And that's why, again, we need to have something like Zooper that we can't integrate with, that is open source. So when we build a backend for Command center, that we can plug you guys into it and you can see things live. So that'd be helpful. Let's see here.
Can we get notifications when a customer has a card on file in Zooper? Currently not sure when a customer adds a card on file unless I look at the client profile. In workflows, there's probably a way to do this. We have not built one yet, but.
I have to think and have to take a look at it. But I bet in workflows you could make a workflow for this. We haven't built one mostly due to the fact that when you start getting 5, 10 people adding a card a day, it just becomes like another email in your inbox, which is not a big deal when you have not too many customers as you get more just like, you just want to get rid of emails like that that are just notifying you that they're in this, the software. The bigger thing is, is you'll be able to in the future make sure that their card has to be on file before they accept an estimate. That's the part that I want. Because then, you know, if they accept an estimate, you know their card is on file. So we already have that for deposits inside Zooper where they cannot accept the job over a certain threshold without putting a car on file. What I would recommend, Vlad, if this is something that's of interest to you, is you could move that threshold all the way down to $1. And then basically, they cannot accept the job right now without putting a car on file. So that is something you could do.
And then you could just make the deposit 0%. But that's just risking it because on larger jobs it's not going to be correct. So down the road we could definitely make it where it is. A requirement to put a card on file before they even accept the estimate. But right now it's required to put a card on file and pay your deposit prior to accepting a job over a certain dollar threshold. So it solves the deposits issue. Deposits inside service Autopilot, in my opinion, is a mess. It's very confusing the way that they do it. You got to send the invoice. It just takes a bunch of time. Now with super going forward, your threshold, if it's crossed, they have to pay that amount and put a car on file prior to accepting the job. So when you get accept the job, you can go on the schedule and you know your deposit's been paid. Which in my opinion is a much better workflow. But in terms of actually getting an update right now, but I haven't built one like that. I think you could probably do it already in workflow if you want to think around with that. But down the road it would be probably an easy lift for us to get the developers to do that. It's just a matter of right now just being more focused on other priorities. So cool. If there's not any other questions, I'll call it a day, but feel free to comment. I'll give you a couple seconds here. That's all the responses I had on the form.
Yeah, we're still working on the YouTube thing. Unfortunately YouTube customer service is so slow. Like I said on yesterday, after Thursday night's roundtable, they flagged us for hate speech and violence and then just wiped our account and suspended it. And we're getting very canned responses back. So responding back through Twitter has been the best way right now. So we're still in touch with them, trying to get that updated. And I really need to because we have a bunch of training videos that I, I want to put up especially for Zooper, as well as some other stuff in some service autopilot, some updates and stuff we made changes to on the collections automation, stuff like that. So hopefully they get this figured out this week. If they don't get it figured out next week, we're just gonna have to start re recording videos, honestly, because it can't be down this long. It's ridiculous. So I just don't want to lose hundreds and hundreds of training videos prior to us trying to just start again. So I'd rather wait a few more days if we can get it fixed. If it, if it doesn't get fixed by this weekend, I'm going to start rerecording all the training videos, honestly, because I can't have those, those down this long. So I apologize for that. That's all I got. That's all she wrote today. It was a quick one again, as always, fill out, fill out the form if you have questions throughout the day and I'm happy to address those tomorrow. And we'll see you tomorrow morning. Take.
