Mike Minutes Mastermind 04/24/24

Live session by Mike Andes (Mike Minutes Mastermind, 04/24/24) covering operational announcements and audience Q&A. Key points: how to enable text messages (add phone number to Copilot/Command Center or email help@accustomloggerservices.com), guidance on text-blast throttling (Copilot/Twilio currently sends ~20 messages per minute which can take long for large lists and may slow the site; plan to move to 100 per hour), and discussion of review-collection practices and Showcase Reviews (showcasereviews.com). Also covers expected response cadence from support/connect teams and where internal customer reviews are managed.

Good morning, everyone. Hope you're doing well. Let's go ahead and jump right in. I have a few announcements.
First off, I didn't notice there's quite a few owners that don't get a text message because they don't have their phone number on their Copilot account for Command Center. So if you don't get text messages and you want text messages, feel free to just email help@accustomloggerservices.com Ask them to put your phone number on your account or just put in the comments on Facebook. Not YouTube, Facebook. It'd have to be on Facebook and you can tag me and I'll throw it in there for you tomorrow. All right.
Another announcement is last night really good post from Logan about the text blast. Recommend using that script. It was really good. Obviously worked for him and several other people that sent it out yesterday. Note of caution. Two notes of caution. First, note of caution. There's a throttle on the text messages per minute, so there's 20 per minute that go out from Copilot.
So if you're sending out a thousand, it's going to take 50 minutes to go out. So don't expect them all to land right away. Second thing is, Twilio has said that many per minute is still going to slow down the site. So I'd recommend if you're going to send a blast out to do it at the end of your day or once you're kind of done using Copilot a bunch. It does slow down the site pretty heavily, so they've recommended that we switch to 100 per hour like we do for emails instead of 20 per minute.
That we currently have. So just keep that in mind. The throttle in terms of timing, so don't send it out at like 7pm you if you do that, people are going to be getting messages to like midnight depending on how many contacts you have. What I would probably recommend is doing like a couple thousand or like a thousand or five. Break up your contact list in the evenings and that's what I would do. Your evening open rate is going to be usually your best open rate for text messages. And also you will then be done using Copilot and if it slows down a bit, it's not a big deal. But Twilio said like, hey, 20 per minute is 1200 per hour and they said we're going to slow down your site no matter what because we're making too many calls on the software. So we're going to eventually change up to 100 per hour just like we have for emails, just FYI.
Okay, next up questions. See what we got here.
Oh, we have three for today. Let's see here. Boom boom.
First up is from my sustain that.
Dylan Wurtz from Boise.
Saw this on the C Suite podcast. Is this something we should be worried about?
See here. Oh it's a comment. You gotta love comments.
Green Frog Web Design reviews.
Okay Mike, I'm a huge fan of gathering Google reviews but the process you're talking about where you don't allow bad reviews to post is called gate. This is not true and it is against Google policy. Not true. Definitely want it to be careful with that and not play fire. It is not worth losing your profile over and you can have all of your reviews removed if you do this. This is a direct quote from Google's policy which are not allowed discouraging or prohibiting negative views or selectively soliciting positive views customers. Okay so yes, I would be interested to see what their business interest is. But yeah, no, I've looked very heavily into this legally there's a ton of companies that are doing exactly what showcase reviews is doing. Showcase reviews is not something super differentiated. The only real difference that we have is the automations around whether or not they left a review. That part.
Here'S why. You're not discouraging anyone from leaving you a negative review at all. You're not prohibiting people from leaving negative reviews. If you penalize customers by saying if you left a negative review we're not going to service your property and you threaten people like that, that would be discouraging them and that would be prohibiting. You're also not selectively soliciting because you are asking everyone for their feedback and then you are giving the option for positive reviews to then go to Google. You're not keeping the people who leave negative ones from going to Google. You are simply taking that information and pulling it to you and that's it.
Also I would, I would venture to believe that every single small business owner is guilty of this part. Selectively soliciting positive reviews. Do you really go selectively solicit negative reviews? No. So I have never seen this enforced. We've been using this already inside the automations of copilot and then service all pad back in the day for a very long time and that is yes and no. Are you happy? This is now just a much more cleaner way of doing it but it's the exact same method. But now we'll be able to follow up with people that don't leave reviews because we'll be able to track that and we'll be able to get them to leave reviews in multiple sites instead of just Google. So that's positive. But yeah, this is. Trust me, I have read deeply into the legal aspects of the Google side of things and we have yet to ever have a review removed ever because we've used that automation forever. So great question though. Very good, very good. Coach Connor coming hot again. What's the standard time for connect teams? I know they may have a response for six to eight hours. Occasion I have to respond back with to remind someone to look into a request or have not gotten a response from command before command closes for the day. Depends what department you're texting and what you're trying to get done. Most departments go do whatever they're doing twice a day. So for example.
The email team, I think it might be three times a day now for example. But.
Liz would be better ask answering this. And I think that I know that we still get like if, if it's a crazy amount of incoming stuff happening sometimes what we'll do is they'll take things from three times a day to two times a day just to make sure that like everyone gets covered. But I. It's rarely happened. This spring last year it was a matter of if we touched everyone one time a day. We were thrilled out of our mind because there was times we would not get to people on Mondays. But yeah, feel free to do what you're doing currently if it's something that's time sensitive. Um, but I would say Mondays and Tuesdays the only day where this is like stretched. But we're still getting everything twice to three times a day. But Liz can add more context in the comments if needs be.
Mr. Anonymous, where do we find customer internal reviews? So that is a text messaging service that we pay for at command center. It comes to to Liz. Liz manages all of those and then there's a team that manages all the or for phone calls those ones. So.
She might be start sharing a couple of those. She'll screenshot some of them, share them stuff like that if anything is of note.
Oh no. Did I. I might have deleted a new question. Did someone. Oh snap. I think someone just submitted a question. I might delete it. If you just submitted a question like 10 seconds ago, say something in the comments. Sorry, I think you might just added it there at the very end.
Okay, I would usually quit end the stream here but I think someone just submitted questions. I'm like wait here for 30 seconds.
Whoever is whoever left the question. If they did, just say, like, hi in the comments. So I know you're typing.
Sorry about that. I think. I think I deleted one for certain, though. Also, if you're interested about the showcase reviews and I stall for you a bit, feel free to go to the site showcasereviews.com.
And then this video they added yesterday and actually shows like, the five things that Showcase Reviews does now, which is basically like, making it easier to get reviews, making it easier to automate the collection of those that process. I went through all of it here, so feel free to watch this. Kind of breaks it down in five steps of everything that Google Showcase Reviews will do for you. Oh, Dustin just left the question again. Okay, we're back, we're back, we're back. And I didn't even show this. Nice. This is what I was talking about, this video right here.
Cool. So feel free to look at that. Breaks it down. Feel free to look through the site. There's a lot more stuff coming down the pipe on it, but for now, that is what we got. Okay, let's see what we got here. We got Dustin left another question. Present. Share screen.
Let's see here. Individual Dustin. I might submit to my B. Okay. I'll submit tonight. Okay, sounds good. Thank you, Dustin. Sorry about that. My apologies. Deleting at the same moment you submitted. All right, everyone, have a fantastic Wednesday, and we will see you tomorrow. Take care.
