Mike Andes covers VistaPrint's smaller yard sign updates, the new instant pricing design using picture-based size selections instead of square footage, why duplicate leads happen (client-side lag), and processing fee options including Stripe and ACH capped at $5 in Copilot.

And we're live. Sorry for being so late. Compared to what the date or the time says, we had a small medical emergency in the office, so I just need to make sure they are good. But. All right, let's go ahead and jump in. First, quick announcement. Vista Print has told us that the new yard sign, yard sign sizes are completed to the smaller sizes for the fall cleanup stuff. They finally updated. So you should be good to go there.
Let me just drop this into Facebook. Sorry.
All right.
Boom.
That's all I had for way announcements is. Let's see here.

And there's just two questions. Today's probably gonna be pretty short unless you ask more questions live. All right, Caleb from Merritt Island. I'm excited for the instant pricing on the estimate form, but I was wondering if small, medium, and large lot sizes are based entirely on the subjective feeling the person filling out the form, or if we're going to assign a grass square footage or lot size square range on each one to give them some guidance. We might play with this. I want to make it as simple as possible. The vast majority of people do not know the square footage of their lot, let alone how much of their square footage of their lawn is. We do, because we are lawn care professionals and that's all we think about. But the vast majority of people don't know the square footage of their house, let alone their grass.
And furthermore, although we. What we potentially might do is put it on the images, like as an overlay, and then an editable thing on the back end that you could edit. It's a little bit complicated just with the way you do the text formatting. But the thing I don't want to do is complicate it, because if you complicate it too much, people start second guessing themselves. Like, well, that 3,000 square feet. I don't know. Like, what does 3,000 square feet? Oh, it looks like my house. Well, my house is about 30,000 square feet. Okay. No, it's got to be bigger than that, 6,000 square feet. But I'm not. Well, I don't think I'm a medium. I got to be a small problem. Like, they start thinking too much. Whereas, like, what's really easy is like, I see that looks like my house. That is the closest thing to my house. Click on it. Easy to go. Same thing with down the road, when Max can start doing this and it says, hey, you got an extra minute? I can give you a price right now and get this finished. It'll likely be a text message sent to Them with a photo, same thing. I don't want them thinking too much because what you're in for, the inaccuracy that would come with this potentially of someone not being able to visually see versus the square footage, I think it's made up for in the fact that.
What you're not going to see is the people that do get confused or second guess themselves and never fill out the form. And that's what I want to prevent at all costs. And so for now we're going to do pictures only potentially down the road we'd offer the option underneath that or on the image to have the square footage that you could edit. But again, too much information is the exact opposite of what we're trying to do on this form. It should be I want mowing. Oh, small, medium, large, great. I'm medium. Boom. Price accept like as quick as possible without adding a whole bunch of other layers. That's why even like the, the the terms and conditions are not shown until they select pricing because I don't want that to slow them down.
Before they see the price and then accept it. So.
Again there's a lot of different ways we can take this. I just need lots of data. So we're testing it. We will slowly roll these out based upon who who signs up next week, kind of first come, first serve and then over the months we can adapt and change it. It does take a lot of development when we have this many locations for everyone to be customized and everything has to be editable. And.
The main thing is that it's a lightweight for everyone's site so that you're still ranking well on Google. But like the last thing you want to do is build a very heavy site that takes a long time to load and that Google doesn't like because there's a whole bunch of scripts that are running in the back end.
Kevin from Bloomingdale SBA Loan I am in the process of getting requires the addendum on the FTD to be signed by the franchisor. I sent you an email at franchise. I just want to give you a heads up. Correct place. Yes, I got it, I signed it and I sent it back. Should be good to go.
This could potentially be.
One of the fastest. Oh, here you go. One second here. I noticed that CC checks online form multiple time lately I noticed that CC checks online form multiple time lately as I have gotten a few estimates for the same people and also calling customers that reach via call and they are getting different responses from different people. Is there a check system that CC uses prevent redundancy. Yes, it's almost impossible.
Because as soon as something comes in, it gets claimed and tagged by a person. So if you actually see this, which I have not seen this ever before, if you do see it, please let us know because it would be super helpful to figure out why this is happening. The only way this could potentially happen is someone's computer is laggy.
And the tagging system takes a second or two instead of instantaneously because especially when we are literally right on your back which is like as soon as things come in from max, as soon as s request form comes in, like it would have to be within a matter of two seconds that someone they're clicking on at the same time. So.
It'S possible. I could see how a laggy Internet connection can make that happen. So if you do see this, please let us know@yellowslipustalongassurps.com so we can investigate it. It is most likely literally because right now especially like we have multiple people literally sitting there waiting for stuff to come in. So it's being done immediately. It I could see how a laggy Internet, if it's not an immediate tag, could cause two people to work on the same thing. So please, please, please let us know so we can track that down.
Did our clearance fees go up? I've noticed an upward trend. I would recommend staying on top of clearance in general because they will typically add fees and move things kind of willy nilly. I'd say every year almost we would just check in with them like we want to lower for eight and somehow we'd get it. So.
It'S not so much the fee count usually it's the or the percentage is usually the extra fees they tack on that you got to be careful of. Like if you want it mailed to you it's gonna be extra $5, stuff like that.
Also it could be if your PCI compliance didn't go through, that might be more recent like a fee that might have gone through in October.
But you just gotta stay on top of them and know and stripe. So one thing I haven't talked at all about publicly is we have Stripe right now in Copilot but next year I'm hoping to add a company called Stacks. If you want to look it up, feel free. It's S T A X and it's a subscription based processing that will unlock like extremely low rates for you is and it's mostly helpful for larger companies that have a lot of processing because there's a Subscription fee. But then after you pay that subscription fee, the rates are like extremely low. So my hope is to basically integrate with something besides stripe for the large operators that will like be super good processing fees. But thing to be careful of is what's really nice is ACH costs cap out at five bucks on in copilot, which means if you had a $50,000 project and you collect all of it on a check, you're paying $5 in processing. And so what you got to be careful of is credit. Sometimes they'll give credit card fees lower and then the ACH, they'll still take like a 1% of everything. So now that $50,000 became 5, $50,000 check, now you're paying $500 in processing instead of the $5. So that's the part you got to be careful of. But there will be likely options in the future for copilot instead of just having one. And I'm not really like right now and until copilot became so big that the processing fees we could beat and do a better job of somehow like I'm not interested in tackling that problem. And I don't, I don't foresee ever us wanting to.
Honestly like to make sense of it financially because like, I don't know if there's any value add that we could do besides just rates. Like it's just a commodity. If we could somehow process payments faster, for example, or offer some sort of value to users that becomes interesting, especially when it comes to like same day pay of employees and things. That's the part where I'd get interested. But it's just, honestly, it's much of a commodity. It's like I want money in my bank account quickly. If you can do that. Now it's just a matter of like who's the lowest rate town. So I'd like to though offer at least one more option to stripe in copilot next year.
Since we don't have an interest in making more money on it.
Anyways. Cool. All right, everyone, have a fantastic Friday, a great weekend. We'll see you on Monday. And looking forward to seeing you at conference another week and a half. Can't wait. All right, guys, take care.
