Mike Minutes Mastermind 11/24/2022

Mike Andes leads a short Thanksgiving mastermind (11/24/2022) covering practical website items (adding a Google Tag to track conversions, how to enter the tag via the augusta dashboard, and Google Reviews/plugin behavior) and a detailed debrief of a recent meeting with Service Autopilot leadership. He summarizes the meeting (met with Cassie—CEO—and senior product/support leaders), criticizes Service Autopilot’s community engagement and product direction (including a poorly received Service Autopilot Academy launch), and outlines a strategy to support two platforms (Zooper and Service Autopilot) until Augusta can control its own software. The tone mixes practical how-to guidance with candid, critical commentary about vendor management and long-term product control.

Good morning, everyone. Hope you're doing super well. Happy Thanksgiving. In order to keep our daily masterminds, have to do one still on Thanksgiving. Sorry for the massive bags under my eyes. I couldn't sleep last night. I ate really late, so just messed everything up. All right, let's go ahead and jump into some questions. I'll try to make it short for today. Let's see here.
Cool. Yeah, there's a couple that came in. Jeff says, do you recommend setting this up? Please see attachment. Okay, let's do that. Attachment viewing and let's see what everyone. So we're gonna see it move. Present.
Okay.
Okay. So this is a Google tag. Yeah. You can set this up if you want.
If you do, then you're going to want to give that to us on the dashboard, which I think is in your next question.
Let's see here. Present.
Yeah, so also, what is your login for edit your website tab? Yeah, so the Google tag is helpful if you're trying to track conversions on your Google Ads, which is definitely something that you can do.
And so the reason I've never really been as, like worried about conversions on Google Ads is because someone's already searching a certain keyword and so.
I'm not super worried about whether or not they need this, like, how pertinent a service is to them. Something like Facebook ads, where you're. If you're going after a really wide audience, tracking conversions is typically more helpful. Whereas with Google Tag, it is helpful to see, like, how many people came, how many people clicked versus actually converted. So having a Google tag is helpful. If you do do that, make sure you go to the edit your website tab on the. On augustafranchise.com the dashboard, and then you can put that tag in there and then we'll add it to your website. That being said.
What is your login info? Yeah, your Login info is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, the letter A small lowercase. If you have any trouble logging in, you can contact Lee or on a coaching call or chucking on a coaching call. But. And they'll get you set up. But basically, yeah, if you go to augustafranchise.com the dashboard login, it's going to be your. Your. Your company email and then 1, 2, 3, 456783 letter A. And then you can change your password if you want after. Once you get logged in.
All right. How did the meeting with the leaders of service autopilot go? Any details you can share? Some of it I can't really But I'll try to share as much as I can.
So I met with Cassie who's the CEO, Steve who is the head of support, Dan who's the head of product and and then Tara who is one of the lead kind of VPs for product as well. And she's really good. She's actually been the one that's doing a lot of the recent changes that are actually pretty positive I think at Service Autopilot.
In terms of my meeting with them. So yeah, I met with them for about an hour and a half. It was good. I was really, really honest and told them what our plans are and down the road that we will, we will leave them 100 but that for now we are letting our user stay in. And I explained why, where I felt they've gone wrong the past couple years and I told them that Service autopad Academy that they relaunched at conference. I told them. So that the morning of was.
It Thursday morning, Thursday morning I met with them. Friday they launched it Service All Pot Academy. Well, Thursday morning I told them that group of four. I said Service All Pot Academy flop. It's gonna be an absolute failure. And I told them why basically that there was no community, there was no connection with their users and they didn't have any sort of social connection like a Jonathan Patosnik at the front of the. Of the company and no one was leading the charge. Sure enough, Friday they launch it. They stand up in front of everyone for an hour and a half and bore us to death. Well, four people that were in the room. About half the people left the conference, the majority of it, but.
They, they pitched for like an hour and a half. One person signed up, one person and it used to be where they let out a hundred in and it would be a waiting list after that. So I think it's just indicative of where they're going. So they are trying to make some really good changes. I think Cassie's good, I think she's solid. I think Tara is really solid in terms of product. But the problem is because I. So I talked to John's Potion for a couple hours on Thursday evening.
And he, he is what he said is basically like even the good people can't do anything because the people above them, I. E. The venture capitalists as well as the equity firm that owns them and the conglomerate that is above them that is basically trying to package, explore, Clearant, Service, Autopilot, Field Edge etc and going to go take it public. Basically they just looking at the numbers and all they care about is Very, very basic numbers. They do not look at the long term of member engagement community. They don't somehow just miss the fact that, you know, having all of a sudden a third, less than a third of the members that were there five years ago in terms of, at the conference and it was extremely disengaged. And like I said, half the people at the conference like myself after the first two to three hours were out in the hallway the rest of the conference. I literally spent less than 15 minutes inside the conference room after the first three hours. And that was a lot of people there just. There's no spirit. There was no like, like it's the driest conference I've ever been to in my life. Very corporate feeling. And I would not recommend it to go there like as a conference at all. I would go there to meet people. That's what I did. I just stood in the hallway half the time and talked to people, talked to Mike Callahan, talked to a lot of the other service all pot advisors. I talked to a lot of their support team, a lot of their. They all knew who I am, I was. Because they know what's going on and they have been alerted that we are going to be leaving eventually. The positive thing is that they are very much.
They are very much trying to help and be accommodative. And so like Tara might actually come out to command center and take a look at what we're doing and see how they can improve the product. But even some of the things that they showed us already is just not useful. They're showing us this franchise dashboard that they're creating. It's just not very helpful.
And it's also extremely expensive. So they're going to charge us thousands of dollars for something that like is just not that great.
And that we could literally build in probably three weeks. Yeah, they've taken three years to build it and I, when I requested it. So how do I talk, who do I talk to about adding my Google reviews to the website? Who is this?
Sorry, if you guys, if you don't log in, I have to go into Facebook and see.
Sorry, give me a second.
Because your, your fate, your Google reviews. German yeah, your, your Google reviews should already be on the website automatically. So if they're not.
Email me franchise gustaloncareservices.com because it should automatically be in there if you're, if you only have, if you have less than five reviews, we might not put you in there because that's what we did at the beginning. So if, but if you have more than five Google reviews. You should have them on your website. They should already be there as part of the plugin. So.
I have 29. Yeah. So if you don't, if yeah if you don't have your Google reviews on your website, definitely email me. It potentially could have been that when we made the plugin a couple months back that you were just getting started and you didn't have that many reviews.
But yeah, check might have been 10 that we even had it cut off. So yeah, email me. Just email me Francis longingservices.com They'll remind me. I'll make sure that we get, get that plugin installed onto your dash your homepage as well. So. But yeah, in terms of service autopilot there's gonna be a whole bunch of new stuff. I'm gonna be talking about conference for all of us. I want to make sure that we have our everything ducks in a row and things are nailed down but we are making progress towards the goal, the more longer term goal of Augusta.
Being able to control the software. And so right now based upon when I talk with Jonathan Pitochnik we are, we are going the direction of having two softwares I. E. Zooper and Service Autopilot that we accommodate until we own our own and we are able to have say in some software. Even if I was CEO of a software it'd be enough to where like look I can dictate and make sure we can control where the product is going and there's not these massive hiccups that we've had in the past that throws us all through a loop like changing from where everyone had to be on clearance. There's a big pain in the butt when they change tickets where they were no longer in automations and then they put them back and so it changes our whole workflow and we don't have any control, we don't have any heads up of these things. So he really suggested to not be handcuffed to any one software and have to until. Until I have some sort of control and can put us like hey six months from now this is what's happening in the software and this is how we're going to prepare for it and we can really make sure there's not bu bumps in the road for us and there's not like random price increases.
That we anticipate to happen at field edge and service autopilot. So yeah, in terms of my, my correspondence with the management team I've really pushed for better member engagement, better communication, the way they roll out their, their features, communication from the top and I. E. Cassie, they run it like it's some like corporate bureaucracy and like no one even knows Cassie, she's the CEO yet she never gets in front of the audience, never gets in front of members, never tells us about when things are going wrong, never gives direction of where the company's at. And I ultimately asked him, I said, you, you all have lost this vision and your users have lost the vision of why service autopilot exists. There's no reason for it. You have a whole bunch of competing products that have caught up to you over the past five years because your product looks exactly the same as it did five years ago. Unless you talk about version three which by the way they are ban abandoning, they're not going to go after version 3 anymore. Which is crazy because that's what all they've been talking about for the past four years.
Which none of us use because it's half baked and they know it. So they're abandoning and abandoning that.
But I, I told him, I said, I said straight, straight up, I said no one knows why Service all pie exists. What's the reason why? Like there's a bunch of other, a bunch of other CRMs out there. Why do you guys exist? What makes you different? That was clear four or five years ago and now it's not. And a lot of that just has to do with being founder led versus VC led venture capital and so just different operating system. So that's all I got for you all today. Happy Thanksgiving for the US Canadians already ahead of the game, probably working very hard today, kicking butt. But I appreciate all of you, very thankful for each and every one of you and I think yeah, there'll be more, more announcements about the software and service autopilot and a whole bunch of other stuff at conference. So looking forward to that as well. Make sure that you.
Get tickets now in terms of flights and things like that, et cetera. Book your hotel because they are, it's probably going to fill up, they said in terms of the hotel itself, if you're going to stay on site, which is always cool because then you get to bump into everyone. We're going to have like a landscapers lounge for people to hang out in there. And then if you can come Wednesday evening, the night before conference, great. It's just going to be us franchisees, we reserve this outdoor area with heaters and fire pits and a whole bunch of food and buffets. It's going to be great. So definitely want to be there for that as well. So, anyways, have a happy Thanksgiving, and we'll see you tomorrow.
