Hey, everyone. Hope you're doing super well. Let's go ahead and kick things off. Make sure I drop this link into here.
But it was still pretty light. First several questions came in, but before we do that, we have a moment of silence. One second. Gotta pull it up. All right, well, everything.
See if it'll work.
All right, a moment of silence for the track loader that we bought from Star Rentals five years ago. It is now sold. It went bye bye. What's really cool is we got it for $9,000 and we use it for five years and we sold it for $10,000. It was fantastic. So.
Technically, technically I had a return on my investment when it came to the track loader. Who would have thought that? So, yeah, we bought for 9,000 five years ago, painted it, and then Dylan was able to weasel someone to find paying ten grand. Not weasel. It's a great deal, fantastic deal. People lining up down the street to buy it. So obviously this equipment market is crazy. But goes to show, if you buy used equipment, you maintain it well, that you can actually not be out too far for it. So we just don't use it at all. We don't do any. With this whole year, we didn't do any earth work, grading, excavation, anything like that whatsoever. So we got rid of two out of three of our track loaders. So we just have one now for loading up material. Awesome. So movement, silence. Rest in peace. Serve your next owner well. Okay, stop. Screen Share. Present.
Sorry. The reason I'm kind of like have this weird shaped over to here is because if I go this direction, there's that light behind me and then it's also the glares. So it's a little bit nicer to have this one for you.
All right.
Jump in. A quick update. I know I mentioned it on the Facebook group. We are moving command center.
Probably a week or two after conference. We're going to move into the Berkeley Square where we have. We did training. So it should actually be really nice because we'll have training command center literally right next door. So we'll be able to integrate command center a little bit more with the training. And yeah, I think it'll be great because over next to Subway where we all went the first day for lunch, it'll be there right next to the next door to there. All right.
Before joining Augusta this November, December, I was running my own company. I did a job for lady at 700 and she was unsatisfied with the job and she had multiple services out for different.
And was not satisfied. And any. And refuses to pay them as well. Okay. I gave her a discount price for not being satisfied and she has refused to pay. It's been a few months and I continue to send her the bill. I'm not sure if I can send her to collections, given the only documentation is an acceptance on lawn prep. I just bite the bullet or. What do you recommend? Ideally, you have some emails about this situation that you could attach with the invoice if you were to send it to collections or recorded phone calls, which I doubt you have recorded phone calls. This is why we do it at command. Just because it literally can save your bacon having a recorded phone call. So especially if someone has a complaint, I know it can be a little bit dicey as to whether or not you send them to collections, but ultimately, if they've talked to you and you've been back and forth about an agreement and then they just don't pay you, once that has actually done, like you came back and fixed it or anything like that.
Then you have a problem.
So you could try using Empire, our collections agency for Augusta. However, they're probably gonna make you set up a whole different account versus with Augusta. It's kind of already set up. They give us a further discount on their rates, etc. So you could try that. But if she's unsatisfied the job and you didn't come to any sort of resolution, it's tough to get because, like, then they can just tell their credit card processing company, like, you know, you know, they didn't do the job. Or it's, you know, it's marked as fraud. Right. So.
But if you have some emails or documentation that says, hey, if you come back, we'll pay you, or, you know, if you can give me just a discount of a couple hundred bucks, I'll pay the rest, whatever it might be. So, as much information as possible. Do employees get sick and or vacation pay after first year of employment? If so, how does this accumulate? If so, does the sick and vacation pay rate over the next year if no time was used during current year? Okay, so every single state's different in terms of sick leave, paid time off, vacation time, whatever you want to call it. So, for example, in Washington State, we have to give one week of. If someone works 2,000 hours, it accrues overtime. We have to give someone one week of sick leave every year. However, if you beat sick leave with vacation time, in our state, we are allowed to circumnavigate sick leave and have paid time off so we give two weeks of paid time off. It accrues at twice the rate. But we do that because with sick leave, they can literally just be like, I'm sick today, I want to use sick leave. Whereas with PTO we can have requirements around, around when they use it, like, hey, you have to give notice, you have to request it, etc. So every state's different. Typically, vacation and paid time off is considered a benefit and sick leave is typically considered a state mandate, something that is in your state is requiring. So again, every single state is different. You got to talk to that. If you're doing payroll with command center, they can walk you through this, check into it for your state, and then if you want to offer benefits of paid time off or vacation pay.
They can make sure it's set up to where every payroll, it's accruing at the correct amount based upon clocked hours. So we allow our vacation time to roll into the next year.
And I think.
Like Marcus cashed in all his paid time off right before he left. Lots of money. But it just depends. Some people like to cash it out every couple months. Some people actually like to use it when they go on vacation. Some people like to just cash it at the end of the year for Christmas. So it's up to them. We more or less treat like a benefit and if they request it in advance, we allow them to take it out for really kind of whatever reason they want. It also helps with things like.
People asking for money with for pay advances because they have like a flat tire or something like that. It's like, hey, why don't you use your pto? You'll get that extra on this paycheck and then you can pay for those sort of things. But I'd look as a benefit.
Did you have any issues with depositing funds into Relay? I'm trying to cash a check and validate my account, but isn't letting me do that online or in the app. I already contacted support, but I'm just curious if you have these issues. You need to validate your account. If you're trying to cash a check, it will not go through until you validated your account. You need to do that using their platform and usually it takes a day or two. If it's taking longer than that, you might have messed something up. So you know, validating your account to take relatively easy to take a video of yourself with your camera, you submit all your documentation. You got to make sure you go to that checklist. So if you, if you haven't validated your account. At the top there'll be a bar and it'll walk you through what steps you're not doing yet.
We haven't had an issue with that. Do your GMs have access to Facebook pages? How do you set up that up so yourself, your GMs and CC has access. So CC having access. That's going to be a video inside the academy under marketing called Automate Social Posts. In terms of you would have set up your business account on Facebook and you'd add them as a manager inside of the account the same way that you where you add Command Center. So watch that video for social auto. Automated social posts for Command center use the exact same sequence for adding a manager if you want them to have access to be able to post on their own. So for us personally, if a GA wants to have it, they absolutely can because they're going to be people. That message there, leave comments, things like that, ask for service. So they can absolutely have access, but the regional manager would give them access through their page. User roles and rights the same way that Command center is.
Is there a way I can get the final exam test for the new franchisees? George is currently watching the training videos and I would like her like for to take exam upon completion. Not right now. The reason is because if that gets shared ever with new franchisees, it's not fair. We do actually make them pass it. So there was two in this last group that just barely failed and they'll have to retake it, they'll have to have another call with Lee and we have to go through things very specifically. So I don't want that getting out because if I share that link and other people have it, then it can just be shared and then people will have it prior to coming to training. So for now, no down the road maybe I'll make a secondary one that we could share internally for GMs etc. But for now it's just when you come to training. So if you're having a new gm, like brand new, and they're actually going to start their location, I would recommend sending them the training so they get the full experience. Obviously you can watch the videos, but some of it just can't be replaced, honestly. So.
All right.
Yeah, and honestly, like you'll find out very quickly if the GM has retained stuff from the training based upon the first few days of can they dispatch, can they communicate with Command Center Connect team? Like there's some pretty basic fundamentals that they don't learn during Training, you'll know very quickly. So.
Cool. That's all that came in for today.
Perfect. All right, guys, hope you have a great Tuesday and we'll see you tomorrow. Looking forward to conference. It's just one week away. Remember, 6pm on Wednesday, we got the whole restaurant now. They got the outside area and the inside area they're going to reserve for us, so. So we got the whole restaurant. It's going to be great. And then on Thursday morning, there'll be breakfast and also registration. So you can pick up all your registration goods and stuff that you'll need. Lanyards. We have a separate schedule for all of us as franchisees because on Friday and Saturday there's separate optional events you can go to. On the Friday and Saturday for Command center drop in and get help. So if you have any help, if you have questions of whether you or your GM or your spouse. Service off by Zooper P4P Payroll Full Service stuff at Command Center. How things you want someone to show you, just like show you how they do it, you can drop in. So those will be on Friday and Saturday afternoons, midday for a couple hours. And so there's not gonna be like a session. There's not gonna be training. It's gonna be one on one. If you have questions, you can come and drop in. And our most experienced team members will be in there from Command center being able to help with all those things. So it'll be great. All right, guys.
