Our Real Life Lately | Work Trip Prep, Coffee Shops & Gym Days

This is a vlog-style transcript of Mike Andes and Bran discussing their recent daily life and preparing for an upcoming multi-stop work "turnaround" trip in September. Bran describes a recurring high-protein breakfast (ground beef, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs), their training for a Spartan half-marathon on September 13 (noted as Mike's birthday), and logistics for renting a 30-foot RV for a four-person team (Mike, Bran, Francis, Zach) including concerns about parking, refueling/propane/septic, and itinerary flexibility. The transcript also covers a grocery haul and meal plans (Thai green curry ingredients, carnivore pizza, keto snacks) plus brief personal asides about rings, weight goals, and vlogging content.

Good morning, you guys. It is Monday, surprisingly enough, is one of my favorite. It's probably my favorite day of the week because once the weekend's over, like, by Sunday evening, I'm like, okay, I'm ready for the week to be here so I can, you know, get back to the daily grind. My breakfast this morning and my breakfast for the past probably like, two weeks in a row has been ground beef, cottage cheese, and scrambled eggs. And you guys is like a protein bomb. And it tastes so good. I like to hyper fixate on meals and eat them repeatedly until I get physically sick of them. So for this month, it's this meal.
I've been loving doing. My cardio fasted. Usually I would run, but this morning, my legs, you guys, like, I'm not trying to be a complainer. I actually find it kind of annoying when people go on and on about their aches and pain. So I'm not trying to do that.
But then starting running, it takes a while for your body to get used to it. I never did it growing up, like, in sports or to run, just to run.
So my body is still adjusting, and we have the Spartan in a month. What's today? The 11th. So in about 32 days, it's on September 13th, Mike's birthday, and we're running 13 miles, a half marathon. So anyways, it'll be fine. Like, even if I have to walk some of it, probably most of it, it'll be fine. I'm not trying to worry about it. It's good quality time for Mike and I. Nothing better than jumping obstacles and panting next to each other. Anyways, gonna finish this.
And then head to the office because we're gonna start planning that long September turnaround trip. I'm excited to see what we decide on if we want to do coast to coast or kind of just stay in the east region. So we'll have a meeting about it today, and we'll see what we decide on.
I'm so paranoid. I had to come back in to make sure I turn the oven off. Now we can leave.
Just spent the last, like, eight hours trying to get an RV for. For next month's turnaround, but apparently this is, like, prime time to go camping, which I don't blame everyone because summertime is the time to do it, but nonetheless, we got it. And we did have to change the schedule just a tiny little bit, but nothing too crazy. We were kind of considering at one point just doing rental cars, like, two rental cars, one for Mike and I and one for the team. And then just like driving across the country and staying in hotels at night, it just makes so much more sense to do it the way we had originally planned and that was to use an rv. So we are sticking to it. Some parts of it is a little bit intimidating, going to be honest. You have to find like RV parks to park your rv and they're kind of booked out right now from the looks of it. And they're, they're harder to find than hotels are obviously, but we'll figure it.
Out as we go along.
That's what's going to make the vlog juicy on the Mike Andy's main channel. So you know, we're going to bring back the saying do it for the vlog.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Okay, so I kind of briefly touched on it in the car yesterday, but I feel like I was a little bit scattered since I was driving. We rented a 30 foot RV which is like the largest size we could get from this place for the four of us. So Mike, me, Francis, Zach. And the only problem with that, there's two actually. It's, there's a matter of finding where we can park at night.
One, like where to park in general. But two, if and when we need to fill, like charge the rv, fill up propane and be the septic, etc, so hopefully we don't have to like recharge the camper super often. Like I'm hoping every, like at least every other night or every two nights. I'll have to contact the rental agency about that and just get more information about what that entails. A second problem is that whenever you go up to the business owners locations and their job sites, it's not super ideal to be showing up with a 30 foot RV because it is a little more difficult to park. But Mike's vlog is where you're going to get to see the in depth details. It's going to be great. But. So for now I am planning a loose itinerary so that whenever Zach calls the applicants we can kind of tell them like, hey, this is our game plan and if you're part of the turnaround tour, like we kind of need you to work with us and being flexible. So this is definitely like the most complicated trip that we've planned so far or that I have anyway. But it's good and I like a challenge.
We have yet another grocery haul. Who's surprised? My idea of fun is going to the local co op and reading all the ingredients on the healthy foods they have. I have a bag of kale that I need to wash and chop up for Mike. He still eats greens on Carnivore Idol, our favorite Thai place that we haven't been to in so long. Because Carnivore, whenever we did go there, he would get their green Thai. I forgot to get an avocado. Oh, well, I'm not gonna make it until like two days from now probably, so it's fine. But he loves their green curry. Is that what it is? Yeah. Green soup curry. And so I got ingredients for that. Green onion, garlic clove, and green Thai curry sauce. Because this makes my job a lot easier. I would have like made it, made the sauce myself, but then I'd have to buy like all the spices that we would only use every now and then, and I don't want to waste that. So this is the easier alternative. If it turns out good when I make it, then I'll invest in buying all the ingredients and making our own from scratch. I got some greens to make him a salad tonight. Some pesto for the carnivore pizza that I also planned on making this week. Prosciutto to put on that pizza. Some of the best pepperoni in the whole world. This is like just the best to snack on. Some turkey breast slices. Applegate and Organic Valley are really good brands for deli meat. They have clean ingredients and I'm a big fan. Also have some mozzarella cheese. I'm going to shred for the pizza. Some capers, which I might put in the salad that I make into today. I've honestly never done anything with capers, but.
I'm gonna try it. A smaller version of the lakanto maple syrup that we use for our crepes. An onion, lactose free cottage cheese. And he also requested some, like, keto cookies. Keto chocolate chip cookies. So I got some chocolate chip sweet with monk fruit, which I'm really interested in trying to the lakanto brand. And then I'm gonna chop this up into bigger chunks and also make cookies with these. It's just like Lily's sea salt chocolate. That is his favorite. I really want to do a lot of cooking today and just like surprise him with some of the good stuff. But I'm actually really, really curious about this. So let's see what the Laconto brand has to offer. And if you can even tell they're with monk fruit.
That's really good and really sweet because they're not semi sweet.
I'm a fan. That's really good. They're super sweet. Cool recommend this One.
All right, vlog, we interrupt your B roll to bring you this message for Michael.
Oh, wait. This is a message for the men. For the 2% of the audience. Do you know what percentage watch it. Are you men?
Actually, I'm gonna assume it's mostly men because landscapers.
For the men that. That have gone through the entire week without any Michael inside the vlog, then yeah.
Sorry, guys. You saw me the whole time.
All right, hack. Now, this is the challenge. You have to get this approved by your wife because most women probably would not accept this. A brand is amazing. Yeah, I don't think most of them would like what I do. All right, I have three different rings. Okay. See the blue? Very cool. Then I have. Oh, no, I put them upstairs. Okay. Then I have silver, and then I have black. And so what that allows you to do is, first off, never forget to put your ring on because you have them in different spots. So I have one in the car, one in the bathroom, and then one in my dresser. And then secondly is you can matchy matchy them. So blue. I only wear this when I'm going to the gym because.
The blue on the turnarounds. Oh, yeah, because it matches my shirt. That's the hack of the day. Now, do I gotta talk about my weight?
Yeah.
Okay. So I asked Bran. I said, Look, I'm 145. I hit my goal. Do you want me to A, I said, you can't do anything besides A.
Or B, you set a trap for me. Okay.
No, no, no, no. See, I knew she was gonna say. I knew what she was gonna say. She said, oh, I love you just the way, or you're perfect, you're amazing, all that stuff. I appreciate that. I really do. But I want to know, do you want me to gain 3 pounds of muscle or lose 3 pounds of fat?
I legitimately did not have an opinion. So I was like, okay, like.
