The Lie Told to Home Service Businesses in 2026

In 2026 there'll be hundreds of thousands of home service businesses that will go out of business and there'll be billions of dollars spent trying to convince them it's because of some politician economy, taxes, labor market inflation, whatever. When reality the reason most home service businesses will fail in 2026 is because we stay addicted to the growth engine. We stay on the treadmill and keep running and running and running. We get calls from agencies trying to sell us leads, we get give money to Facebook and to Google and we never actually get off of the growth engine. We stop buying trucks, we stop hiring people, we stop advertising and we just raise prices when we have more customers than we can serve.
