TRAVELING THE COUNTRY FIXING SMALL BUSINESSES

This is a vlog-style YouTube episode by Mike Andes documenting an RV road trip across multiple U.S. states to visit and coach Augusta franchise owners. The footage mixes on-the-road conversation, business coaching/turnaround highlights (mentions of specific owners and companies such as Joel Heck, Eagle Pros, Emma & Sam Heslop), and personal/behind-the-scenes moments (RV life, travel logistics, pregnancy anecdote, microneedling, and health/weight goals). The trip completed nine turnarounds and nine Augusta meetups (18 businesses total) and moves through Colorado, Idaho (Eagle/Boise), Utah, Washington (Kennewick), and Wyoming.

From Colorado. It is absolutely beautiful here. It's wild how you can go so quickly from being in the city to just seeing mountains. I it's so gorgeous here. So we're starting off this new week on Sunday with we're going to be visiting another Augusta owner, Joel Heck, and then immediately after that heading to conference center where we're gonna meet up with about four other Augusta owners along with their spouses, I think may be coming. But we obviously had to stop at Dutch Bros, get our mandatory golden eagle before we head to Mr. Joel. H.
I would not buy that other location.
Not yet.
No. I, I, I, I think either a, you get this one to 750 and have $150,000 in distributions.
And then, then get a second location, or you do your first plan, which is get a 750 and okay, I know I'm going to storage facility, take a route up top. I'm going to put a gm, place this one, let it run, and I'll go up here and just build that aspect of my territory out. So I would say.
You need to figure out a reason why you're trying to start, like, why you're trying to start so many locations, why you're trying to make so much money. Like, why do I need a what? I know why, but why? Because I want to do missions long term and be able to like, build things. Let's make a lot of money. How much money do you need to do that?
A lot.
How much? I don't know. So I need clarity in your goal.
Yeah.
Because clarity, your goal will give you deprivation.
Now, everyone. Safe travels, everyone. Thanks for coming out. This is for hsm for the whole thing.
That's gonna be the question. Zach me one video. Oh, yeah, true. It's going to be hopefully individual. Yeah. But do you want one for every owner? I think so. Oh, okay.
Okay.
I mean, we could do curb check in. The RV is crazy.
You guys, it.
The feeling after being around a guestination. And I'm saying this with like, complete authenticity, like, you just leave feeling so wholesome. Like.
I have not seen the community quite like a guestination yet. And I was telling the guys, like, there is a scale in my mind called the I get it scale. And every time that I'm around a destination, like, I get it more and more. I've always, like, heard Mike say their names or talk about different locations. But, like, whenever I see them in action and I see how they treat each other, how they interact, the camaraderie, it's like, it is so, so incredibly special to be a part of this. And even though I don't know them.
For example, today was my first time meeting, I think everyone there. I may have met one or two of the owners in person at conference very briefly. But like, I met them briefly even though I don't know them as like a close personal friend.
Like, there's just this different level of care for them. Like you. You just love them, you know? Anyways, that might not make any sense to you guys, but that is just what I'm thinking and feeling right now. Just very grateful, very grateful to just be able to help out in this department. These are very special people. Very thankful. Very, very thankful for them. For them having Mike's back. And Mike has theirs. And I understand why he pours so much of himself into them. So anyways, we're driving up through Colorado, heading to Utah. It is so gorgeous here. Dare I say maybe the third prettiest state. I think Utah has them beat very slightly, but Washington, Utah and Colorado are high on my list.
Blocks Upton.
Today I'm taking behind the scenes in this RV as we do just that. 167 ramps. I'm grabbing this RV.
What if we did, folks, we're driving through Wyoming. We're hitting a storm and we're like hitting a wall of rain. Gonna be driving through a bad storm. It's gonna be.
We had just barely found out that we were pregnant with our first. Yeah. Around that same time. So pregnancy. Starting a company.
So what'd you think when he came home?
Like, yeah, no, I was telling them that I was throwing up.
August to October is our. Our busiest season. Like, that's when. Okay, everyone getting ready for the holidays. Yeah, everyone's pushing for the holidays.
This is such a bad time.
To $800,000 in revenue this year, but they haven't taken a paycheck in months.
That's.
Oh, that's so sick. Oh, dude, there's a golf course.
I let people get in accidents. Just trying to get watch.
Calling my name. I think that's.
I own structure. Like slowing things down. A lot of disappointment. Like, I genuinely believe if you slow down a little bit, really sink your roots in lawn care in this area. When you come out of it in six to 12 months, you'll have a bottle. Yeah. Figured out. But like, they have such incomplete.
Data to be able to scale it. And they're already be like, oh, yes, we should scale this. Like, no, no, like, we haven't actually.
What's up, Vlog? We are in Eagle Idaho right now. I think it's north of Boise or in the Boise area. We just did a kind of turnaround with Eagle Pros, which Mike did a legit turnaround with the owner last year. This time though, we just came to visit the CEO/business partner and do further coaching. The owner is in a. Is on a mission in Denmark right now, an LDS mission. So his family loves Mike. They were super appreciative of the coaching from last year. So we did the coaching at their shop space and the CEO just met us there as well. They gave us so much food to take to go, you guys. We couldn't eat with them because like, we're on a time crunch. We still have a five hour drive ahead of us. But look at all this food. It's so sweet because they're so appreciative and so thoughtful to do that. So then yesterday morning we were in the Salt Lake City, Utah area doing a turnaround with Emma and Sam Heslop. They're like such a cool couple. I really liked Emma a lot. So now we are, after filming 4L in Mike minutes, gonna be hitting the road, doing a five hour long drive to Kennewick, Washington, which we were just in like a couple turnarounds ago. We're going back to another turnaround and then we head home tomorrow. I'm so excited. Tonight is our last night in this RV and I'm so excited. Good morning everybody. It is 5:36 right now. We woke up at 4:50 because today is the last turnaround and I think this is like our earliest start yet. But I woke up this morning and I was like, that was our last night in this rv. So we're in Kennewick, Washington right now, which is about five hours from home. So after we finish up, which we should wrap up, averaging out about like maybe noon, possibly earlier. We should be getting home around like 6:30 with stops. And I'm so excited to be in my own shower, to be in my own bed. But I have to say, all things considered, everything went smoothly actually, except for last night. It's the last turn on of the year. Oh, had to go out with a bang. You know, get out as many videos as we could. It's gonna feel weird not going on these trips, honestly. Like, I have a love hate relationship with them. But we definitely have other exciting things coming up, so stay tuned for that.
He's got his wife and two office people in the office and 22 employees.
We're gonna have cash flow problems. We're gonna have the efficiency problems. This is computer stuff for me. Not my thing. New. It's mostly for the ladies. Yeah, I'm outside here helping fix things, getting things going, checking sites, doing, you.
Know, what's up vlog. Look where I am. We made it home last night at like 7pm and it feels so, so good to be home. Feels so good to be in our own bed. Shower in our own showers. But I have to say, Ashford LASI is so fun at most parts. Towards the end, like on day 10, I was like, okay, my. My social battery's out. I need to go home. I need to stop talking for a long time. But it was so awesome. All the turnarounds I feel like went really well, and nothing went too crazy wrong on the rv. You guys will just have to stay tuned and watch the vlogs that will be going up on Mike's main channel and to see what went slightly wrong. Anyways, I'm just doing some ingredient prepping right now. Getting back into the swing of things. Did so much laundry this morning and picked up another quarter cow. And we actually had to buy, like, a mini freezer. You know what? Let me show you guys how to buy a mini freezer from Amazon just to make sure everything would fit because that little freezer is completely full. We still had ground beef from our previous cow that I just got like maybe a month and a half ago. So probably jump the gun a little bit too soon on getting a second quarter, but there's me. Hello. But this is the mini freezer we got off Amazon. Not too big, obviously, but it is filled to the brim. I had to take the basket out to make more room, but that freezer honestly was only like maybe 200. I think I was like, no, I think it was 180 on Amazon. Really not that much because we live in an apartment, obviously. I try to conserve space where we can. So we didn't want anything too big that is like the perfect size. We are very, very blessed and thankful also. So blessed to have made it home safely. There are so many things that can go wrong on the road, but we made it home. And for now, I have no plans to travel until Thanksgiving, so it's going to be so weird. We were just talking yesterday, like, it's going to be a little bit weird not having to go on the turnarounds until probably February next year. Our goal was to just, like, do a ton in this one trip and then avoid traveling whenever it gets really cold or even during the holidays because all the prices are so Much higher. And just travel in general is more insane this time of year. So we knocked out so many videos. We knocked out, like nine turnarounds and nine Augusta meetups this visit. So 18 businesses in total. It was so cool. My favorite, honestly, was whenever we were in Colorado and we met up with five different Augusta owners in that area. I love meeting everyone and, like, being able to put faces to the names I hear Mike mention every so often. So it was a great time.
I'm starting it off. Hello, vlog. Welcome to the last day of the vlog. I hope you enjoyed your time on the traveling trip, the road trip, the RV trip. I gained three pounds on the trip. Not good. So Michael's gonna have a lot looking, looking. Need to lose six pounds to hit my goal at 146.2. I need to be at 140. That's my goal. Yep.
So.
I have my vitamins. I have Carnivore, and we ran oyster down this morning. I ran lickety split to the top. I didn't break the record, though. I don't think I'll ever break my record.
What was your record?
One time I did 50 minutes for.
Six miles up a moun.
Yeah, I'll never really hit it, though. Like, my best now is like 54, 55, and, like, I am booking it.
So 50 minutes is crazy. Also to explain the redness, the pinkness in my face, I just got microneedling.
No pain, no gain, baby.
Right? So going up the mountain was a little bit of a feat just because whenever you sweat, it hurts even worse. You're actually not. You're not supposed to sweat after getting microneedling done. But.
You know, had to happen. Workout had to happen. You can outto the vlog now. Bye. Bye.
