Mike Andes is launching a $1 million lawn-care business and hit delays in week one: two of four vans are still delayed, vinyl wraps were printed wrong, and early ads generated mostly irrelevant leads. He bought a Z-Sprayer that saved $3,500 and is hiring 2-3 technicians for training next week.

I moved across the country to build a $1 million lawn care business in 1 year, and we've been here for 1 week. So far we have 4 vans, Promaster 2500s, and we've got 2 of them with a ramp installed so we can get equipment into the back. But the other 2, they're delayed. Now the wraps for the vinyl wraps that go on the vans, we gotta have those on before we actually start service. And the ones that got shipped here were printed incorrectly. The sizing was all wrong. So we had to swap installers. Now, at the end of last week, we were able to start our Facebook ads and our Google ads, but only about 5 to 6% of the total budget, just as they start getting ramped up. And the leads that did come in, they weren't even for services that we offer, 'cause we only do mowing and treatments. The few leads that did come in on Friday, they were for commercial maintenance, Property cleanups and a project. So I'm hoping that turns around because the biggest thing right now I'm trying to do is verify our Google address so that way we can start running LSA or local service ads on Google. But to do that, I've gotta verify my Google address. And in order to verify my Google address, they're wanting me to make sure I have a wrapped vehicle in the parking lot. We also picked up our Z-Sprayer for all our spraying and all our treatments, and we were able to pick it up at SiteOne, which is a preferred vendor of Augusta Lawn Care, and saved over $3,500. We also hired 2 to 3 technicians, which we are inviting to this upcoming week's onboarding and training day, where we're going to meet all of them at our office and do a full day of training. So stay tuned for week 2.
