Travel logistics continue with arrival in New Orleans, baggage claim observations, and a quirky orange pelican sighting. The vlog then showcases a dateānight cooking class at Sur La Table, a barbecue outing, and a spontaneous run club experience covering six miles, which reignites Speaker Aās motivation for running and training for an upcoming 13āmile Spartan race. The episode wraps with a personal reset at home, a call for viewer suggestions, and a humorous oatmeal spill, concluding with thanks and a teaser for the next week.

That's nasty. Hey Siri, how many milliliters are in 3 fluid ounces? Oh, that was crisp. Good morning. We're on our way to the airport. I feel like I start off almost every vlog like this, but yes, we are traveling again.
Last night there was a big malware attack at Homework, so fortunately we think we're good, but locked down like the API keys to a lot of the things that we're connected to, one of which was email. So we're trying to get that back up and running. So currently emails are not going out, but they are getting queued up and they'll send out as soon as we have it cleared. But the main thing is that we didn't allow the malware to infect anything and then get sent out to customers.
So when things like this happen, what do you tell yourself to like not freak out?
Um, I have survived worse things in the past. But it's also like, it's Saturday night. There's only a couple thousand emails queued up. Like if this happened in the middle of a weekday, there'd be tens of thousands of emails. But it's important that we protect the millions of customer records, addresses, payment information, all that in our files. So like, that's the quote-unquote gold pot that they're going after.
Who's they? Do y'all know who's trying to do it?
Billy Bob? No, I don't know. They're usually very anonymous. It's the Russians!
Have y'all ever gotten hacked before?
Way back during Bug Hell, where they actually got in. So we've neverā no one's ever got through. We saw it happening, we blocked it, blocked it yesterday, and then out of the abundance of caution, didn't want anything going sent out until we locked everything down. Dan the man is gonna get back up and running soon.
The difference between now and what was going on in Bug Hill is that the team is definitely a lot more built out, and I'm sure you have more confidence in the security.
Any financial struggles, um, I mean, we spent a lot of money in the offseason, um, And I wouldn't say we have too many financial struggles, maybe just me spending too much, or maybe too much on marketing we don't need to and stuff like that. Yeah, herā
yeah, how many yards do we have our price point?
100 and below? That actually just by a foot. The only like hourly thing we haveā
We just wrapped up coaching, so of course we had to come to a gym and get a lift in. This gym is so sick. We always lift at Anytime Fitness because it's the most convenient. We have a membership for it. But this one is sick. There is so much space. Like, all the machines are super spread out, so it looks a lot bigger than it actually is. Like, even if it was crowded, you wouldn't be able to tell. And the turf area is huge. So let's look at a nice juicy back day. I think it's all over body, back, chest, biceps, just whatever my coach has my program. Let's get it. I have my app that I log all my weights and reps in. I just follow along with all the workouts she has in here, time my rests. So it's a lot more structured than I used to do before. I used to, like, not time my rests. If I took any rest at all, to be honest. And then I would just like lift whatever felt heavy, which like I'd usually remember what my normal slash like slightly above normal weight would be and I would follow that. But it's nice to have it all in the app so I can follow it more religiously. the turnaround format that's more chill this year versus last year. We definitely have a lot more time to work out, thankfully, which helps it be a lot easier for me to keep up with my meal plan and my routine. So, bless Mike's heart, we get to the hotel last night and there's no microwave. You know, I need a microwave to like cook all my meals, as explained before. So I was like, okay, how's this gonna work? He surprised me by Uber Eatsing, Uber Dashing, whatever, a microwave to the hotel. So that fixed the problem really quickly. Um, we'll have to find out how to return that, but just felt like so, so grateful to have someone in my life who supports my goals as if it's his own. I'm gonna do 40 minutes of cardio so we can get out here. This is the microwave in question. That I was telling you guys about earlier at the gym. Phenomenal, by the way. Shout out to Black Decker. But most importantly, shout out to Mike for completely surprising me with that last night.
Shout out to Uber.
Get you, whether it's a spouse or a friend, who supports your goals as much as Mike has supported me and mine. Currently making the intro because we're about to film the 4L and Mike Minutes out here at our hotel. So he usually makes the intro up on the fly, but I mean, he kind of has a template, right? It's like, today we're in XYZ.
Today we're in XYZ visiting XYZ from XYZ. I'm Mike Andes. Last year they made XYZ in revenue, butā
What do you think about this?
That works.
Great shot.
How can we make this better? Today we're in Illinois visiting Matt from Brooksdale Landscaping. Last year he made $1.3 million in revenue doing lawn care and Christmas lights. But he has lost his passion for the business. Revenue has plateaued and they have no systems.
But he has fallen out of love with the business? Is that more dramatic?
He's doing lawn care and Christmas lights, but he has fallen out of love with the business. They have 5 overhead employees and have no clear systems for the business.
Ready? Yeah. All right, today we're in Illinois visiting Matt from Brooksdale Landscaping. All right folks, we've officially made it to New Orleans, Louisiana, and we're at baggage claim. When you see obnoxiousā
Where is it?
The coloredā
Oh, it's not ours.
Nope, that one's not ours. Wow, that's crazy. That's rare we see another orange pelican, but mine is down there. Mike's is down there. There it is. What a man. What a man. Thank you.
You justā you saw it. I don't care if it's Facebook Marketplace, contacting contractors, selling to whoever, like you're going to build a $3 million sawdust business if you just focus on it. Or we just keep pulling you in 100 different directions.
Good morning. That was kind of the last vlog clip. Actually, no, to be honest, that was the last vlog clip I got on this camera. I got a couple of things on my phone, but basically what had happened was After the turnaround, we spent like the next half of the week just kind of exploring new areas. What am I looking for? Egg whites. Yes. So we went to this like super cool date night themed cooking class together. And guys, that was so much fun. We went to Sur La Table. I don't know if it was just like something in that area or if it's a chain across the United States, but 10 out of 10 recommend doing a cooking class together with friends, a group of friends. Parents, your spouse, your significant other, whatever. It was so much fun. Like, Mike did it with me because he's the best, but I know like cooking is not his favorite thing to do, but we actually both really, really enjoyed it. Cooking is just something I love to do, so that was super fun. And then we tried some barbecue spots, walked around in the downtown area, and we didn't like officially join a run club, but we went on a run with the run club and it was 6 miles. You guys, outside of the Spartan, I have never run that far. I probably like walked half a mile to a mile of it, not straight, but like incrementally, because it was hard on my legs. Cardio-wise, totally fine. My legs, not used to that impact for that long. So it actually kind of lit a fire under my rear to start running more. Like, I say this so much, I talk about running all the time and how like I love it, I hate it, I love it, I hate it. But I kind of want to like start a running program with Strava or Runno or one of the other running apps. So we'll see. I will definitely document that if I actually follow through with it. I am honestly leaving it in the vlog to kind of hold myself accountable because it's something I need to do. We are doing another Spartan, the 13-mile one, in September, the week after Mike's birthday. So like, I need to train for it anyway, and it's mostly running. So it was fun. It was just like a weekend after the Turnaround Show. After work, we got to do a little bit of play. It was so fun just trying new things, especially at the run club. I was telling Mike Andes, it was so cool to be in a group where like being fit was the standard. Like it was just really, really motivating. So it was super fun. Definitely want to do that again and like join a run club officially if I can find one in our area. But we got back home yesterday. I did my little reset, cleaned up, laundry's going right now. I'm about to head to the office, so I'm making breakfast. Anyways, that concludes the vlog. Thank you guys so much for watching. I know it's sporadic. If there's any like theme of a vlog you want me to film, like a theme of like a week of workouts, or like what we eat in a week, what I cook in a week, or like more of the business side of things, anything, whatever you want to see, comment it down below because I would rather make content that you guys want to see. No, my oatmeal spilled over! Oh guys, any of you have ever experienced this, you know how hard it is to clean up. 'Cause like everything immediately gets sticky. This is why I should not multitask when trying to microwave oatmeal. Now I have to clean the tray. Okay.
Ow!
Anyways, thank you so much for watching. See you next week.
