Welcome to Landscape Business Course! | Mike Andes

Mike Andes introduces himself and the Landscape Business Course, telling his origin story: he began mowing lawns at age 11, started college at 13, pursued an MBA by age 18 while launching Augusta Lawn Care, and built the business into a multi-location operation. The course is presented as a chronological, step-by-step account of his first three years building the company up to $100,000 in monthly revenue, covering startup basics (budgeting, advertising, equipment), an advanced P4P (pay-for-performance) employee-pay system, access to p4psystem.com software, and a documents & templates library (including a 32-page employee handbook and marketing materials) intended to help other lawn-care businesses start, grow, or recover.

Hi everyone, my name is Mike Andes and you might have heard me from Landscape Business Course, the podcast or videos on YouTube or on Facebook. But I'm so glad you're able to come here to the website and I wanted to share with you what the course includes and what parts of it are going to be really good for you and for your business. And so first, a little bit about me. I started mowing lawns when I was 11 years old and I thought I was becoming a surgeon and I knew I needed to go to college early. So I ended up going to college, starting college when I was 13 years old and I paid my way through college mowing lawns and I really did intend on going to medical school and becoming a surgeon. But after going to Africa and volunteering in their healthcare system and doing all sorts of surgeries and very cool stuff, I came back to the US medical system and just felt the bureaucracy and the insurance and the paperwork is not something I wanted to be a part of. At the age of 18, I decided to actually get my MBA Master's in Business Administration and the evenings while starting Augusta Lawn Care Services. And at that moment in time, I still remember looking on my computer, sitting down and googling Landscape Business course. I still remember where I was at in my room upstairs on my computer typing in Landscape Business course on Google. I thought for sure there'd be some sort of online step by step process for how to start and grow a successful lawn care business. And there was nothing there. A few years later, after growing and developing Augusta Lawn Care and Systems, that's what I created the very thing that I was looking for. And that is really what Landscape Business course is all about. It's really a story, a step by step, chronological story of what I did over the first three years of my business. The good, the bad, the ugly. And this, this course is by no means the best equipment, information or the best way to do certain things. It's simply a chronological step by of exactly what I did over the course of three years getting started to get the business to 100,000 in monthly revenue. And so that first year I was 18 years old, I was doing it part time, I was still going to school at night, I was working as a personal trainer by the day, just part time. And so I made like 30,000 in revenue that first year, but the next year was like 200. The next year was 550, the next year was 850. And now at Augusta Lawn Care Services we have over 20 locations across North America that are doing you know, locations doing well over a million and 2 million in revenue. And so I really look forward to sharing with you what that process was like. Regardless, if you're just starting out and the first part of the course is really going to be for you, you're just starting out. It walks with really the basics, the budget, the first $15,000, where to spend it in advertising, what kind of trucks and equipment, the things that I did to be successful just starting out. The second part of the course that's more recently added is called P4P. And if you listen to the podcast.
On Facebook or on YouTube, the videos I make, you've heard me talk about P4P and how revolutionary it's been to our business. And P4P stands for pay for performance, which basically means instead of paying for hours or time, paying dollars per hour to your employees, you pay a percentage of revenue that they generate, the production that they bring in. You give that percentage of that to the employee. Paying that way is going to allow you as the owner to not have to micromanage, not to always be looking over their shoulder wondering if taking too many breaks or on their phone all the time, that's up to them. They're getting a percentage of the revenue they bring to the business. And so P4P in the system that we talk about in this course is just one of many systems that's going to allow your business to actually grow and scale. So maybe your business is a little bit bigger. And some of the first part of the course might be a little bit of a review for you. Some of the marketing techniques, the estimating techniques, pricing, things like that, leadership, those things might be reviewed for you. But P4P is something that will completely change your business and allow it to get to the next level. Along with the training and the videos that are included in the course, there's Also access to p4psystem.com so you're getting a username and a login for p4p system.com where every day you just got to insert the amount of revenue that that employee is bringing in, as well as other parts of the system. And within a minute per employee, you can determine the dollars that they earned the day before using the P4P system. So this software allows you to quickly and efficiently take that information, pop into an Excel document, and it takes care of the P4P and the payroll calculations for you. Another part of the course is bonus that some people literally get the whole course just for this, and that is the documents and the templates section. In the Documents and Templates section, I actually show you literally the templates and documents that I used and that Augusta Lawn Care uses in our business. Everywhere. From the 32 page employee handbook that outlines all of your company policies and procedures and the thing that you're going to give to an employee that is joining your team so they sign off on all the different regulations and you can modify it and edit it and change it. There's actual real examples of the postcards and the door hangers that we've used and the designs as well as word tracks for cold calling. All of those things are in the Documents and Template section as an invaluable source for you to grow and scale your business. So regardless of whether you're just starting out, you're wanting to grow, or whether or not your business is actually failing, and this is kind of a lifeline for you to change the course direction of your business to make sure your pricing is correct, to make sure you have the right people on your team, and make sure you're paying them correctly so they can think like owners using P4P. I look forward to showing you what we've done at Augusta Lawn Care to build our business and what you can do in your business to take it to the next level. Thank you so much and welcome to Landscape Business Course.
