A short excerpt from a YouTube video ("Why I DIDN'T hire this person👨🏻✈️") featuring Mike Andes and another speaker. The speaker says they have been watching instructional "Augusta" videos and wants to pursue a team lead role, calling the company a couple of times to express interest. Mike Andes is present as the boss and interlocutor in the exchange.
You know, I've been watching a lot of the Augusta videos and stuff and was wanting to, you know, take a team lead position and kind of grow.
Because I'm the boss, you know, my.
Team leading skills and stuff like that. Like, I called and I called up there a couple of times.
A lot of applicants apply to work for us, and they think they can become a team lead or a general manager, an estimator. From day one, our policy is that you have to start at the bottom of the totem pole. You have to start working out in the field, pushing a lawnmower, and then you can work your way up. This gives upward mobility inside of the company as well as make sure that the managers know what it's like to have to go work out in the blazing heat or the pouring down rain.
