This is a vlog-style YouTube episode by Mike Andes (Augusta Lawn Care). Mike describes recent private equity outreach (he's not planning to sell majority ownership), preparing for incoming franchisees from Idaho, Washington state, and California, and repackaging older tips into short one-minute segments. He gives practical door-to-door marketing advice (use door hangers, keep introductions short and non-salesy). The episode includes a guest segment with landscaper/YouTuber Kevin Hansen, who discusses rapid channel growth (roughly 16,000 to over 70,000 subscribers in six months) and personal challenges. The video closes with a like/share CTA and a plug for a Lawn Care Juggernaut episode about Roundup.

Are you just starting out here? Oh, sick.
Hey, everybody. Welcome to Augusta Lawn Care. Welcome to another day on the vlog. Always got to have the yeti. Kevin Fairburn. Thank you. Of course, I'm drinking like a spinach, chocolate, whey protein today. We got a lot of stuff going on. Starting off kind of a unique phone call. I've had a few different private equity companies approach me recently and I have no intention of selling Augusta, especially majority stake ownership. I'm trying to just educate myself. And so they, they reached out to me and wanted to get to know a little more of the business. So I'm having that call first. Then also today we're going to be recording a bunch of little small snippets of tips from videos that I made years ago, like, really bad quality videos. We're going to make like a bunch of like one minute segments of tips. So we're going to throw those in there for you today. And then also today we're really getting ready for the franchisees. They're coming this weekend. We got one from Idaho, Washington state and California that are coming this weekend starting tomorrow. So you'll see that on the vlog in the next couple days. But today we're just getting ready for them. And then also last night, make sure you check out Lawn Care Juggernaut's episode we had on Roundup. It was really, really good. And so, yeah, we're just gonna do a bunch of calls. Fun, not so fun, whatever stuff today gonna be a fun time. Low cost is knocking on doors and asking customers if they need your services. Now you're asking, well, how do you do that? What you don't do is try to be all salesy like, oh, yeah, I'm going to cut through the grass and think that every single person you knock on their door, you're going to give them a price and try selling them to the moon. You're not going to do that. It's going to come across bad. And you're already getting some mad people at you when you knock on their door, especially in the evening. So what you can do is knock on the door, have a door hanger in your hand. So if they don't answer the door, you just put the door hanger on their door. Because you don't want to ruin that transaction. You don't want to waste that. You're already at the door. Put a door hanger on. If they open up the door, don't try to sell them anything. Just introduce yourself. If you're introverted, this is A lot easier than trying to sell. All you say is, hey, my name is Michael the Augusta Lawn Care. I was in the area one introduced myself. If you ever need anything to do with your yard or your lawn, give me a call. As you're talking about that, you're giving them a door hanger. So it's kind of like there's something for them to look at. And if they don't want your services, they'll say goodbye. You walk away all mid transaction. No hi high, you know, sales fix thing. You just introduce yourself and if they need your service in the future, they'll give you a call.
Not even getting negative reviews or people might just consume poor quality service. If you're doing your best work quality, you can really ask yourself. And my biggest concern is that, like listening to those voices that what you're doing right now as you're working for marketing makes you tenant apprehensive to getting customers. Don't let that happen. You're doing an amazing job there.
I'm really looking forward to this show. As we continue to evolve each week, be able to get another landscaper on the channel. A man that is not scared by city regulation violation or overgrown lawns. A man that has gone from 16,000 to over 70,000 YouTube subscribers in the past six months. Who trims long grass but will not trim his beard. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Kevin 76,000 Hansen. Is it part of the brand? Is it something you're gonna build on with social media?
Well, the analytics tell a different story than what it actually looks like. I can't believe I branded myself with a beard. It was just steadily learning and arguing with my wife over the same stuff.
I was working for a contractor and the contractor just kind of quit selling jobs. I'm talking to my dad and I'm like, hey, man, I don't know what to do. I'm freaking out. My wife's pregnant. I'm scared out of my mind.
Hey, everyone, it's Mike here. Just want to say a big thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed the content. If you did, I'd really, really appreciate a like. And even better yet, if you could share this with another landscaper in the community, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much, and we'll see you tomorrow.
