Live with Minotaur Trading Systems, August 7th 2026

In this live session Kosta Ouzas hosts a market and product update for Minotaur Trading Systems, joined by Chris and Marcus. They review the two core algorithms Minotaur offers: the Bitcoin Accumulator, a power‑law based DCA strategy that trades inverse perpetuals on the Blowfish exchange, and the Hedged All‑Asset Accumulator, which extends the DCA‑plus‑trend approach to tradfi assets such as Brent crude, silver, gold and Ethereum. Chris demonstrates live trades, highlighting how the bot waits for optimal entry signals—using a combination of mathematical baselines and technical indicators (Bollinger Bands, Keltner Channels, ATR)—to capture superior entry points (e.g., a 9 % improvement over a mechanical DCA entry). Marcus explains the mean‑reversion feature that leverages volatility expansions to time buys and sells. The discussion then shifts to market structure: Marcus walks through a Bitcoin volume‑profile and liquidity heat‑map covering the Jan‑2024‑to‑present rally, pointing out a B‑shaped profile, a high‑volume node near the all‑time high, a value‑area low and point‑of‑control around $48‑53k, and external liquidity pools that suggest a bottom is forming. Both agree that volume and liquidity are the primary drivers of price, and that the algorithm is tuned to harvest liquidity‑driven volatility events. They close with a short market outlook—high open interest, potential roll‑over in August, and a warning of a possible bull‑trap—followed by a call‑to‑action inviting viewers to book a demo via QR code.
Chapters
Good. Um, I guess what's, what's going on in the— what's going on in the world right now? I guess it's been kind of, kind of a bit of a flat week.
Yeah, yeah, sideways.
Yeah, a bit of sideways action. Um, what we could do today is I'd like to take a look at some of the charts. Marcus will give us his, his, uh, Trading Different update. We'll look at the liquidity pools and see what's moving Bitcoin at the moment, or when we think the next, you know, 2, 3, 4 weeks is going to look like. And Chris can dive into what the algorithm's been trading on. Obviously we've got, uh, 2 algorithms at the moment that we're working with. We've got the Bitcoin Accumulator, which is a fantastic power law based, uh, strategy that we use to accumulate more Bitcoin. We do this by trading, uh, inverse, uh, perps on the Blowfish exchange, and we use the power law strategy that we developed with Giovanni. So that's a fantastic way to basically, you know, use some Bitcoin as collateral in order to generate Bitcoin. So Marcus always says it's kind of like mining Bitcoin at zero cost. So great strategy that we've been incorporating into what we do at Minotaur. And then second to that, we've also got our hedged accumulator. And this is a strategy that we developed that is more of an Uh, we call it an all-asset strategy, um, and we call it all asset is because right now the, the derivatives market has opened up to tradfi assets like gold, oil, silver, uh, US equities as well, um, you know, alongside the digital currencies that we usually trade. So at the moment, I think we're really focusing on, um, on Bitcoin and Ethereum. I think, Chris— yeah, we're doing a bit of Ethereum right now as well. Yeah, there's some good volatility in Ethereum. So we find that if someone wants a little bit more action, um, a few more swings to the up and down, Ethereum does, uh, do that. Obviously a little bit of a different risk profile to Bitcoin, but it's something that we feel like we can understand. Um, and, and, you know, using a risk framework that has, uh, stop losses and max drawdowns is something that we can control, um, better. And it's allowing us to really, uh, pursue these other assets as well. So what did you want to show us today, Chris? Which other assets?
Yeah, definitely. So I'm going to look at, share my screen real quick, take a look. Yeah, you know, if you can see my screen.
Yep, we got it.
Perfect. So as you can see right here, we have the algorithm running that hedge bot, as Kosta was saying, talking about. Right now we have Brent oil, so the oil contract on Blowfin, it's tokenized asset. I just want to kind of highlight what the bot is doing currently. All right. So as you can see, we have this beautiful kind of— obviously started up here, coming down, DCing, obviously down. And then right here we had this nice real exit position. But as you can see, it didn't start trading yet, right? Kind of followed that trend line moving down and then exactly at the perfect moment fired that base order. And once the market kind of has settled down and kind of gone into this choppy motion action, you know, obviously, um, buying and selling, right? Buying here, um, exiting up top. And as you can see, one more order as well. But that's how powerful this algorithm is, really catching those nice trends and waiting for the market to settle to really execute the trades.
Yeah, I wanted to dive into that actually. It's something, um, we can discuss. So this was something that Sebastian spent a really long time in the development stage, and I wish he was here to talk about it. Um, but, uh, this is This is basically how we distinguish what we do from a traditional mechanical bot or traditional DCA bot, right? Is that what we've been able to do with our development and our code— and that's the IP that we share with our clients as well— is that, that we've made a basically a DCA-style bot smart. And what we mean by smart, it has the ability to sit on the sidelines and wait for the best opportunity to present itself. So it won't just use mechanical entries, it will use, um, algorithmically defined entries that are based on trends and signals. So it allows us to incorporate not only DCA-style trading but also like a trend, like adding a trend to that as well, trend following strategy. So here the trend was down, so we obviously weren't in a trade, so we waited until the best moment. Maybe Marcus can add to this, but what this is giving us is such a better entry, um, and how this makes it so much you know, so much more superior to a regular mechanical DCA algorithm. And jump into that, Marcus.
Yeah, that's a, that's a great point, uh, Chris. Just keep it right there on the, uh, that drop right there. It's a perfect example of the Achilles heels of most DCA type systems are they tend to— if you don't have these types of, uh, programs, they can catch the tops and absolute tops and bottoms. So those are the Achilles heels of DCA systems are catching the top and the bottom. So in this case, you would not have wanted to trade the top. So the way the algorithm is programmed, it will wait until the trend settles, which mirrors the liquidity. So it entered at the bottom. That was a significant difference in price. If you would have bought that top, you would have been in massive drawdown, where the algorithm was able to detect that. And the way it does that, to elaborate on what Kosta Ouzas was saying, it worked with Seb on developing this. And it does two things. A more commercial bot that you could find on any of the websites out there, they tend to just use math. So it's going to enter in on a predetermined deviation setting and percentages and what have you. But our algorithm is— has more intelligent code than that. It uses two things. It uses math as the foundation, the fundamentals, and then it looks to try to do better with technical. So it uses math to establish a baseline, then it finds a technical environment And it uses whichever one is better. If the math is better, it goes with the math. If the technical is better, it fires the technical signal. In this case, as you can see, the technical signal was far superior to the math, and that's why it waited and it just nailed a massive entry. How much is that in percentile, Chris, from the top to the bottom there?
Take a look real quick. Yeah.
What is that?
It's about 9%. Yeah.
Wow. Wow.
9%. Yeah, that's massive, massive difference.
You know, if you, if you think about like a mechanical entry in that, it would have, it would have entered, fired off, fired off nearly 80% of its DCA capabilities if it was in the 15% range. And, and you'd be sitting there praying to be getting out of this position by now, right?
Yeah, you would have bought the top and you'd have used up all of your additional averaging orders, safety orders. Yeah, that's— that is a perfect example. I haven't seen one that impactful in a while. Usually they, you know, you get 2 or 3% entry, but that's a nice one there where it went 9%. It's pretty, pretty, pretty impressive. Even I get jazzed just looking at it every time I see it.
Same. As soon as this happened, I'm like, oh man, textbook.
Wow, beautiful.
That's, that's why we built it, to do just that. And we actually— just, just to add to that, we actually have additional features because you're not even using the mean reversion feature, right, Chris? You're just using the, the standard accumulator and that's what you get. We also have the mean reversion feature that can even enhance that even more.
Yep.
Yeah, do you want to go through that and show us how that works as well?
Definitely. Marcus, do you want to explain more detail?
Yeah, this particular example here with the bands, those are Bollinger Bands and Keltner Channels. So what it's doing is it's using the volatility as an entry signal. So in volatile markets, it will be more passive and it will wait. And so that's gonna get you, it's gonna enter on expanded volatility and in contracted volatility it will wait. So by doing that, you're going to, that's the time to buy is when the market is overextended., and you wanna sell when it's overextended. So by using the mean reversion setting, you're going to nail those deeper, better entries based on volatility. So that's it right there. Perfect.
Yep.
I can see it working. It's entering on extended volatility, which is the same thing that happens that occurs when liquidity's being liquidated. Those are volatile events and the mean reversion setting is designed to capture that. So the the bot won't be trading out of sync or too high or in the wrong positions. Awesome.
Yep, that's right.
And that was Brent crude, right?
Correct. Yes, this is, this is BTC and the other one was Brent crude. Okay.
What other assets are other clients sort of looking at at the moment? Just if you can share, like what other assets are exciting right now?
Definitely. So right now we also have silver as well. You can see it here. So right now this is fairly new when it comes to me kind of resetting. As you can see, we also have the Bollinger Bands. This is a great example kind of what the algorithm is doing as well. As you can see, really catching that bottom here, right? Taking that base order, catching that bottom beautifully, and then rallying up to that take profit. Can't get better than that.
No, it captures the volatility perfectly. And that's the bands reading the— it's using Bollinger Bands, Keltner Channels, and it's using a pre-programmed Average True Range. So it's also looking back, uh, I think the house settings, we look back about 21 periods. So we're looking at the average volatility as well, so the ATRs. So yeah, awesome.
Nice.
Yeah, let's see.
And then we also look at gold as well. It's another asset that we're looking at as well. It's been trading Um, so you can see using those Bollinger Bands as well, right?
Yeah, gold, gold just recently rallied, right? That's the, that's the rally that we just had.
Yes. So we can go back real quick and see that exactly right there.
Yeah, right there.
There he is. Yeah, so we had that nice take profit as you can see here, but bringing that average price down, as you can see, right? So that purple line is the average price. We started up here, brought it down, so we have that nice rally up as well to really get that take profit.
And now you're capturing short positions because it's trading long and short on the other side.
Just exactly back and forth. What's nice about the Bollinger Band, as you can see, is we have this rally up, right? And normally in a normal DCA, maybe it would have started and just exited. But as you can see here, as soon as the market kind of settles down, that's when that base order gets fired, right? So we have that nice, you know, um price movement moving sideways to really maximize the algorithm.
Yeah, yeah, it's looking great.
All right, thanks, Chris.
Yeah, of course. We'll stop sharing.
All right, awesome. And now, Marcus, do you want to have a look at the liquidity pools on the heatmaps on Bitcoin and see what's going on?
Yeah, I'll try to keep mine short. I don't— this hasn't been a lot of updates, but I'm going to give a different perspective really quickly here.
Yeah, look, there's a lot of perspectives online. So it'd be good. I think there's— it's never been—
every day, something going on every day.
Yeah.
Can you guys see that screen there?
Yeah, we got it.
Yes.
All right, great. So today, I just kind of wanted to— there's two things that I love. And I try to keep things Ridiculously simple. I always use two tools. You know, you can have an endless amount of indicators and tools out there, but my tools of choice are volume profiles and liquidity. And the reason I use those is because they actually track, uh, more specifically what the, the mechanics or the operations of the market is actually doing. The market is comprised of composite commercial traders that are conducting their daily business affairs And we want to track the volume. They can't hide, they can play all types of tactics and manipulation to hide their orders or whatever their strategy is. But at the end of the day, that volume has to be calculated, counted for. So the volume is the truth and the liquidity is where it's building up for the next move. So if I'm tracking those two things, I'm actually focused only on what matters the most, in my opinion. So right here, using the volume profile, what I decided to do here, this is something I haven't actually looked at till today. So I just pull one. I typically have multiple profiles that are all nested together in layers. But in this case, I decided to pull from January 2024, that big massive run that we had that started there all the way to the current time just to see what the entire third part of the rally, the end, the third phase of the rally the final phase of the bull and then entering into the bear market to kind of look at the whole perspective. And this is kind of what jumped out. So some interesting occurrences that we have a massive high volume node here. We had a high volume node around the 96 range. We obviously, everybody's aware of the all-time high, right? It's, it's right here. It's here where the market distributed and went through a distribution phase there. So those are kind of the big 3 occurrences, but I want to just kind of focus on this high volume node here. Also, there's, there's different types of shapes of profiles. This is what we call a B-shaped profile where most of the volume— this is good news— most of the volume is in the lower quadrant of the profile, which means we're nearing, we should be nearing the bottom. So this is a bottoming phase, this volume here. That's good. Uh, this is the deviation of orders. This is 68.2 or 70% if you want to round it up. This is where the standard deviation of orders occurred of the volume transactions. And these outliers here, left tail, right tail, these are the deviations, the other 30% of the lower volume. Uh, so if you look at it in terms of, you know, you probably hear some ICT, Smart Money Concepts, whatever you want to call it. This is called a, a value area low, which is considered to be low price. This is fair value or the point of control, which can— this is what the market has agreed on is fair value for Bitcoin over this timeframe here, which is a pretty long one. And then this is the high value or value area high. It may be called in other types of trading, it's the same terminology, different terminology for the same thing. They call this discount. Fair value and premium. So, um, these, this tends to be the lower prices down here. So what's interesting is I want to draw everybody's eye to the, the value area low and the point of control, which we're on right now. These high volume nodes tend to act like a magnet for price. But the thing about this value area low is when I bring the liquidity in, we're going to see a very consistent point here. This should be the end. So price deviates outside of the value area, but then it gets pulled back inside of the range because this is the magnet. And so I would expect something similar to happen over here where we deviate down and we probably— there's a high probability we do something very similar. So let's just see what the magnet would be to pull them down there. Let me add the liquidity in. So Just gonna add in, um, let's just focus on the 5x first. It's the closest to the, to the volume profile. So just like we had here, we had liquidity in the— this is what's called external. Any, any liquidity that's outside of the profile is considered to be external liquidity. So we have all this external liquidity here, and the market did a series of very, uh, impulsive actions to, to liquidate that liquidity. Before returning back to the profile. So we have that same setup again. The market rhymes. It doesn't repeat exactly, but it's very similar. We have a large amount of volume sitting right on the volume profile and external to it, the value area low. So we, we're probably setting up for some similar type of action to take out this liquidity that's here. So just like we did over here, not necessarily all of it though, right?
Like potentially just that the larger pool at the top.
Yeah, I mean, uh, typically we take out the 5, so there's a level here and there's a level here. Yeah, this level is 48,000 and this level here is 52,000, 53,000. So, you know, you could wick into this one, come down here and wick that one and turn, or you could come and wick this one, you know, either, either combination. Yeah, or both. Yeah, but the point is we have a lot of signs that the end, the bottom is near. Um, you know, the volume profile is saying that it's near, the liquidity saying that it's near, the value area low is saying that it's near, the timeframe is saying that it's near. You know, we've got about, you know, end of October. So everything is in position to get us out of here. Start working our way back up. So yep, the volume doesn't lie and the liquidity doesn't lie. Everything else is just— every other indicator is just referencing those two things. Liquidity is what draws price. Price is drawn to liquidity because that's where it needs to transact. So it has to do two things. It has to engineer liquidity, then it has to harvest it. That's all that takes place. And then volume is just the proof are the evidence of that same thing. So it's as simple as that. There's no— there's nothing— no other magic trick to it.
So, so why do you think— what's the benefit then of trading the way that we do with an algorithm? Like, if anyone's watching this that's considering, uh, joining our program and getting access to what we have to offer, which is the algorithms, um, how does using our algorithms help if the markets are behaving this way?
Absolutely. The algorithm is tuned to follow primarily the action of how liquidity is harvested and how it, how it is engineered, how it is harvested. When engine, when liquidity is harvested, it is a very violent displacement. It's where liquidations occur. A lot of leverage, high leverage is being taken out of the market. Open interest is being removed. So these are very volatile. Impulsive events. So that's what our algorithm is tuned to take advantage of. It's tuned to wait patiently until those events occur. So during the accumulation phase, the algorithm is waiting, it's waiting patiently. And then once it gets the signal from what Chris showed you earlier, when that event happens where the expanded volatility— the only reason the market is going to go through volatility other than a news event, unless Trump tweets something stupid, right, or whatever, Uh, without a news event or a black swan event that would trigger it. 90% of the time, uh, volatility is triggered by liquidations of liquidity. So our algorithm is patiently waiting for that signal to happen, and then it responds. It buys into that liquidity event, which is the same exact event that the composite market makers or the market makers algorithms are doing the exact same thing. So we're in tune with that.
Awesome, thanks Marcus. Great. So probably preparing for some chops still for the next— what, what's your predictions for August? Do you think that this move— do you think that there's a, a potential bull trap before we see this movement down, or do you think that, that that's kind of— the leverage has mostly been taken out to the upside already, or how high do you think Yeah, I think we start—
it's looking like we might start rolling over here. There's a lot of open interest in the market right now. There's not, you know, kind of like all the bets are kind of made. Um, it's kind of hanging out here right now because the sentiment is still a little bit bullish. Mark is a wrecking engine. It's seeking out the offside traders. So I think it's getting ready to start this month. We'll probably start moving lower.
Okay.
All right.
Oh, good to know. All right guys, um, do you want to add anything else or do you want to leave it at that for today?
