Live with Minotaur Trading Systems, September 8th 2026

Kosta Ouzas, Chris, and Marcus demo Minotaur's trading platform, showing how its Bollinger Band entry mode avoids tops and bottoms, and a dual-leg hedge feature that caps drawdown to 5%. Marcus breaks down Bitcoin's structure using liquidity heat-maps and 25x leverage pools as leading indicators.

The algorithm, how it's been looking this week on some assets, and we're also going to be doing a bit of a deep dive insight into Bitcoin with the liquidity and heat maps that Marcus is famous for. So yeah, let's get into it. How you going, guys?
Doing well.
All right. Two thumbs up.
Much action this week? Has there been much action this week in the markets or what?
It's kind of, kind of sideways. Slow, slow. The market is testing our patience here. You know, it's in an indecision point right now.
Yeah, well, we've got the algo running on a bunch of different assets as well. We're going to get— Chris is going to open up his screen and get us to take a look at— I think we're going to look at some oil trading today and, and also the effect of the, um— we wanted to actually dive into some of the settings that we have in the accumulator, particularly our Bollinger entry. So we'll spend a bit of time looking at that today so people can understand how that works.
Perfect. I'll share my screen. We'll take a look.
Yeah, let's bring up your screen.
Perfect. Can you guys see my screen?
Yeah, we got you, Chris.
Awesome. Yeah, so like Kosta was saying, we're going to be looking kind of at the Bollingers and then the non-Bollinger Bands right now. This is the non-Bollinger Bands, it's the long side with BTC. I was kind of— Marcus said we're kind of going sideways right now, not too much action. That's why. But it is that nice chopping action for the algorithm. Um, this is the long side, as you can see, you know, all those entrances with the blue and then those exits with the magenta purple. And then that short side as well, just chomping at the bits right now, just moving sideways.
Yeah, as you can see, it's still working, right? Still entering, still exiting. The algo is doing what it's supposed to do. The sideways action is, is great because we stay within, within a tight range. We enter, we exit, you know, all working well.
Exactly. Yep. And then with these Bollinger Bands, with these settings, what it's doing is basically you're making more precise entry when it comes to not catching the tops, you're catching the bottoms. So as you can see here, right, it's not as much action as we saw before, but it's basically not catching those tops or bottoms to really make a more precise trade in a sense. And this is—
So the benefits of that would be, let's say if someone's got a larger account, if they're trading, say, $100,000 or more, 6-figure accounts, you tend to want to play it a bit safer. Usually you're willing to give up some upside in order to have more protection and more precise entries. So we found that those larger accounts tend to favor the Bollinger Bands, because, yeah, it does allow us to not buy in at local tops and local bottoms as well when we're entering long and short. So that's the reason why we developed that Bollinger entry. And maybe Marcus can explain a little bit how that functionality itself is variable and dynamic, how we can actually make adjustments to control the entries from the Bollingers as well. Okay.
Yeah, another purpose of the Bollingers are the Bollingers were developed in a time where an earlier period of development for the accumulator, maybe a year, 2 years ago when we did not have the hedge. So we would run this, run it in what we call the void because you're running it all the time and you have to have a means to not— the Achilles heel of any DCA system or mean reversion system is tops and bottoms. So we come up, we develop the Bollingers to wait until volatility has already extended itself before it enters, which gives you that better, more conservative entry that's not a top or bottom. However, now that we have the hedge, so you kind of have an option. If you want to run one leg, single legs, then the Bollinger would be a great option. And like Kosta was saying, larger accounts that want to run and run in one direction, like for an asset like Bitcoin, then the Bollingers are a great option because they're more conservative entries. They won't catch the top and bottoms. However, we also have the hedge that we recently released through development, what, 6 months ago now? And that allows us to have a fixed range with limited drawdown. So we limit the drawdown to say 5%. And we're able to put that in a range where we can encapsulate the risk and we can run long and short at the same time because we have it hedged on both sides. So in an environment like that, we're getting maximum volatility harvesting. So we would not need the Bollingers because we already have the hedge. So it just depends. It just gives the investor trader more options.
Yeah. And that's one of the reasons why we developed the algorithm. way we do it is to give clients the option of creating their own strategy and making decisions that suit their profile, however they want to trade. Everyone's different. So what we've done at Minotaur is we build a tool, right? That's what we do. We build the tool. It's up to you how you want to drive it. We always try to get that message across, is that this is something that can create lots and lots of different strategies. because of the way that we've created the variables and the functionality being completely dynamic. So not every client is running the same version of the strategy. Some people are doing their own thing. Some people are mixing it up. Some people are testing things in different ways. Obviously, we give the settings that we personally use and communicate that to all our clients. But again, you can do what you want with it. That's part One of the really cool things about the way we've developed this.
Yeah, very, very good tool because what it does is allows you to have structure. One of the main things for discretionary traders is structure. You have to have a consistent structure and a framework that you can back into quantifying your risk. And once you can structure your trades and quantify your risk, then the sky's the limit for running an algorithm because you have everything contained. So that's what makes the tool so, so effective. Yeah, awesome.
Anything else you want to show, Chris? Any of these other assets, maybe, uh, oil, silver? Let's just take a quick look. Yeah, yeah.
So this is gold with the, um, with the Bollinger Bands on. As you can see, this big exit, started another short position, exited. Now we're in another short position. It's like this long side as well, exited. Now we're in another position. Up here we also have silver going as well on both sides. We have the long and then the short side as well working. Once again, always enter— entering, always exiting. What's great about this strategy as well is it's in one sub-account, so you're using the same capital to basically diversify your portfolio versus putting all your eggs in one basket. So you're always trading it, you're always trading, always exiting, never kind of really stuck. Right. Because when one, let's just say, pair is stuck, right, one is already active, right? Which is really good. Here's Brent oil as well. So we have that alongside as well. We also have natural gas running on only the long side right now as well. So right now I have 5 assets running at the same time within a subaccount, which is pretty amazing.
Pretty amazing. And we're only starting to scratch the surface on these real-world assets and legacy assets because we hadn't had this capability that long. And now that all of these real-world assets and tokenized legacy assets are coming into the crypto environment, it's very exciting because now we can attach our algorithms just like BlackRock or Jane Street or anyone else. We can attack— we can attach our algorithms to these asset classes. So it's putting them— putting these assets within reach. And as Chris was saying, We're just mixing and matching. It's like being in a kitchen. We're just sampling all types of non-correlateds, correlateds. It's kind of like the sky's the limit on what preferences and which assets you want to mix and match. We didn't have that capability when it was a world of just crypto. We were running on Bitcoin. And we all know that Bitcoin is the most dominant force. The whole crypto universe is Bitcoin dominant. So you don't get much decorrelation in crypto. But with these real-world assets, we can mix and match to you whatever combinations you desire, you know, whatever flavors you like. It's like ice cream, you know, you can just mix and match all this stuff and it's just creating all types of possibilities. Cool. Awesome.
Awesome to see, guys. Let's take a look maybe at the, um, heat maps now and see where Bitcoin's doing. All right, yeah, I don't—
let's see what we got here. Not a lot is going on. Can you guys see my screen there?
Not yet.
It will start. Yeah, nearly.
There we go.
All right, there it goes. All right. Cool. All right, so as I was saying earlier, we're in this indecision zone right now. Um, Bitcoin, we just had that 30%, 25% rip there. We— so we're all aware of that. That's a major short squeeze. If you want to see them here, those shorts, they got squeezed. They're right in here. Had a big short squeeze there, uh, which actually went All the way up to this, uh, $80,000 range that we're in now. Um, so what now? So for me, as I said last week, there's 3 things that I'm looking for. I'm looking for structure. So when you're in a downtrend, which is a bear market, is the mother of all downtrends, right? So you're putting in lower highs and lower lows, right? So right here The question is, is this going to be a higher high or we're going to put in a lower high for a lower low? That's the question. So for me, structurally speaking, I would need to see this previous high taken out, right? So that previous high goes to about $83K, $84K. So we need to take out that high and flip that, claim that zone. And now We've checked one box of 3. That's the structure box. So beyond the structure, we also will be looking at the time, right? So we know the previous bear markets within about a week to 2 weeks. It's incredible how these cycles work. There's, there's the— there's depth, right? And then there's time. There's 2 variables. They're both— a lot of traders overlook the time variable. So the time variable is, uh, I'm not going to pull it up because I have limited space, but we're talking about towards the end of November. So we still have time left. We'd be early if we were going to go up from here. We haven't reached the time variable, so that box needs to be checked too. So there's time. So we have enough time to actually come put in the low and then start to build a bull run, bull case. So there's the time. And then the last but not least, the fried chicken zone here. We have all of this liquidity that remains. So if the market was to go up here, it would be a major imbalance of liquidity. Markets move from one liquidity zone to another. So we just took out all these shorts here. Then just from a commercial value standpoint, if you're— you've got all this inventory that you have here and you offset that inventory down here because these are, these are sellers. So you've already— these were buyers, they forced to buy high, and you can close your positions for lower prices. If you keep going up, then you're going to continue to be imbalanced. So, you know, there's that. So for me, the 3 boxes is I would need to see this liquidity taken, or at least some of it right here, you know, before— We rip higher because this would just be healthy to take out that that liquidity, kind of like we did over here a longer time ago here. Let's see right here is an example of it here when we swept some of that liquidity below the value area low of this big range here, and then we moved on higher. So that's just how markets work. That's Wyckoff. It's called the spring. All right, so last thing I want to point out here is right now, if we just look at currently what we have, is we have this indecision right here. Some people might say, well, this is a bull flag. Could be, which could take us into this level here, which would take out the liquidity that's above and continue to flip structure. So there's that scenario. We'll have to wait and see. The market is just really testing our resolve, right? It hasn't done it yet. It's teasing us. But then at the same time, This type of price action just changes the sentiment. It gets everybody all sides and gets them very bullish. And then you know what happens when it gets everybody too bullish? Then we run into one of these. Yeah, Bart Simpson pattern there. So you know, watch out for the Bart Simpson. There's the hairdo. And there you go. So just be advised, the market is a deleveraging wrecking machine. It— when people get offsides, that's when it moves in the opposite direction. So the longer it stays up here, the more bullish sentiment gets. The more bullish it gets, then it's perfectly set up to come take these guys out down here. So don't lose sight of that. So that's about it. We'll see how it goes. Maybe next week we'll either have a Bart Simpson or we'll have a breakout. We'll have something. Oh no.
Do you think a week or do you think it's this month? It's going to take a bit more time after that move to play out, you know.
I don't know. Well, we can drill in here closer and take a closer look here. You were to look at it closer.
That's the 4-hour, correct?
Yeah, we should go to the 4-hour. Take a closer look at the liquidity. Um, you know, there it's, it's kind of a coin toss. You know, there's liquidity here all the way up to like 85, but then at the same time there's liquidity here that it's actually, uh, it's— I mean, it's just even if I pull a volume profile, it is like right in the middle. You know, it's just, it's a 50, it's a coin toss, you know, from here, which one of the chances of getting taken out.
These 2 high leverage liquidity pools, 25x, right? They'll both get swept at some point. Even if it goes to $84K first, it's highly likely it's going to come back down to $73K or vice versa, right?
Or right. So, you know, liquidity, uh, 25 is going to go first. That's why we kind of use it as a leading, leading indicator. The 25, well, it's kind of like gasoline. If 25 goes, it's going to Sparks a 10, 10 sparks a 5, 5 sparks a 3. But right now it's just a 50-50 ball. Other than the fact my nod would be that going this way because we've already had a massive run-up. So it's consolidating. It could consolidate to go up or down. You know, my bet is until we take this out and hold it, you know, it's still a bear market. So. That's why we run algorithms, so we don't have to guess.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Just let the algorithm do its job. It's gonna trade all this stuff so we don't have to worry about that.
Yeah, yeah, that's right. All right, cool, guys. Thanks a lot, uh, for today. Uh, we'll check in again next week and, and, and do another live stream. Um, and again, if anyone wants to book a call, learn more, they can use that QR code, uh, up there on the screen. Awesome.
All right.
