Day 3️⃣1️⃣: Everything Breed! And My Announcement

Max explains that breed is fundamentally about behavior, not looks: dogs were bred for specific actions that create distinct desires and breed-specific problems like sock-stealing or guarding. His rescue dog Enzo's outdoor issues stemmed from his breed's innate motivations. Effective training must identify and satisfy a dog's underlying breed-based drives first.

People hate to admit it, but breed-specific behavioural problems are a thing. But so is breed-specific training. And yes, my big announcement is also in this video. Hi, my name is Max, and welcome to the last day of the January series, sharing a self-improving tip each day until we become the humans dogs dream of having. Do you feel like you're ready to be the human your dog dreams of having? If not, don't worry, wait till the end of the video for my massive surprise. So here is everything you need to know about breed. So breed is a man-made thing. Dogs were not bred to look certain ways, they were actually bred to act certain ways back in the day. And when you get a different breed, that means you're just signing up to a whole different cocktail of behaviors. Different breeds have different desires, which means they have very different behavioral choices, which come with very different behavioral problems. That's why you your bloody cockapoo Spaniels and Labradors are stealing socks around the house. When your dog is frustrated, they will try and do the stuff that makes them feel good, and that's a breed-specific behavioral problem. So yes, all your dogs stealing things are frustrated, and you should help them before they start guarding those things. That's why when I rescued Enzo, all of his behavioral problems were outside, because that's where his desires took him. But this also means they can have very different motivators, which is why sometimes to achieve the same thing Susan did down the road, you might have to do some very different training with dog. And until you tap into that part of your dog, there isn't actually anything you can do. They will just be frustrated until they get that itch scratched. I know that sounds scary, but it also should be hopeful, right? And don't worry, even if you don't know the breed of your dog, you can still find this stuff. There is a very simple formula to follow. So this stuff really is everything. But how does this have anything to do with my big announcement? So I've said this about a lot of things recently. This topic isn't the smallest of things. I can't teach you all of this stuff on social media. You'll never be able to fulfill your dog from here. Some of these topics are literal life. This is what your dog lives for. So over the last couple months, I have been working on a really cool project. The goal has always been this: to work on the whole dog and you. And that's why I've called this project the Whole Dog Blueprint. So if you want this series to continue for another 10 weeks, this is for you. Over the next 10 weeks, you will get 10 emails delivering 10 video lessons plus 12 bonus training sessions that you can save forever. And these are on what I find are the most important topics, and I'm going to give you what trainers in person would charge you hundreds of pounds a month for free. So if you want 10 weeks of free dog training, you can find that in the link in my bio. But I also just want to say thank you so much for the support over this series. I really believe all together we can turn this industry from dog managers to modern dog parents. Maybe see you tomorrow.
