The shake-off. Some say it's a dog shaking off the stress, but how accurate actually is it? What is a shake-off? What does it actually mean? Well, there was a study called the Dogfield Study where they walked dogs of all ages, breeds, and sizes whilst having a device attached to them that tracked the dog's pulse rate. What they found after a significant increase in pulse rate, so something that's either quite exciting or quite stressful, they would shake off, and after every shake-off, the dog's pulse rate actually dropped. Isn't that interesting? This is something natural dogs do for their homeostasis. So the saying "they're shaking off the stress" is pretty accurate.
