Agent 2021 Conference with Gary Vaynerchuk | Neel's Vlog 004

Neel attends Agent 2021 in Miami with Gary Vaynerchuk. Morning sessions are high-level strategy, afternoons get tactical. Gary spends hours at tables talking to agents one-on-one, and Neel plans to turn the conference lessons into step-by-step personal branding tactics for real estate professionals.
Hey guys, it's Gary.
Vee.
Neil and Arjun and I are just chopping it up. The Nevada and San Francisco markets need to listen to this.
We're here in Miami for the annual Agent 2021 conference. The CEO of VaynerX, Gary Vay. The reason why I flew all the way out here from Nevada is a lot of the conferences and, you know, marketing seminars and all those things that you read about, they're all at a high level. They kind of tell you what to do, but don't really get into the practical nitty gritty. And this particular conference is about building your personal brand and actually content strategies that are actually working in today's climate currently in real estate, mortgage or whatever business you're in. I think we're currently at a crossroads where the market's been so good for so many years. Before you could get away with being kind of passive and not really having an identity or a strategy for content on social media and video and all these types of things. But I think now we're at the point in the market where if you don't have a strategy to differentiate yourself from this kind of sea of vanilla, you know, is how I put it, you're going to just blend in and you're going to struggle.
And 90 plus percent, maybe 95, comes.
From people that have seen my social media, that are in my sphere, that were cold, that I warmed up. Arjun just got here. We're headed downstairs to the VIP dinner to meet some of the attendees. And also Gary's going to speak and yeah, it should be a good time. Let's check it out. 1, 2, 3. One of the cool things about the event today was that I've been to other kind of VIP events where there's been salespeople, authors, famous celebrities, whatever you want to say, and they don't take the time to like meet with you. You're basically there at a event and you're basically paying to be in the same room. But in this case, like, Gary actually took the to sit with each one of us, which was actually pretty cool. Like that's almost unheard of. He took probably three hours of his time just sitting down with each table. Talk to everybody still in there. Yeah, it's just crazy.
He's got more tables to visit.
So I think that was, I mean that just shows how much he cares about his audience and the attendees and the people who paid to be here. Just woke up, it is 6:30am here, which is 3:30 my time. That's early. I'm just gonna get ready here and head over to the conference. We're meeting the guys downstairs at 7:15 and gonna head over there. So it should be an awesome day. I just gotta wake up.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Miami, south beach bringing the heat. Can y' all feel that? Can y' all feel that? Jig it out. Here I am in the place where I come let go in Miami. The base and the sunset low every day like a Mardi Gras running up a high bill Nothing less than nil when we dress to kill Every time the ladies pass they be like, do.
Y' all feel me?
All ages and races, Real sweet faces.
So we are about halfway done with the morning with the session. Just finished the morning sessions. To be honest, the morning was kind of like a 101 type content, but it was still, you know, there was some little nuggets of value still. So I'm really looking forward to the afternoon sessions because that's when the content gets more advanced and we're getting into more of the kind of nitty gritty and the advanced content that, like, myself and many other people came to this event. To be honest, right now I'm really looking forward to lunch because I'm starving and they have no food. Yes. So we've just had a bunch of coffee.
Why don't you put a billboard that says every other real estate agent sucks and wear that awesome shirt that you're wearing now and that will convert way better.
Yeah. Yeah.
Even though some people hate that you.
Said sucks like bu.
Yeah, Ed, I know what every single banking and lawyer outdoor billboard looks like. It is a person in a suit with a tacky phone number.
Can't break through. We just got done with our private interview with Gary.
That was awesome. Obviously so generous with his time. We were able to get 10 private minutes with him talking about marketing to millennials, how technology is affecting both the real estate and mortgage industry. You know, how to position ourselves better to win there. He even threw us a nice shout out too, which was awesome.
Yeah, it was a great experience. So we're gonna head in for the final keynote.
That's actually $10,000.
He goes, wait, we'll send it.
The people here that aren't effective on Facebook right now, it's the contents that's shared.
So we just got back to the hotel after a full day at Agent 2021. It was a great day overall. I think the morning sessions were more of like a 101 type class. A lot of introductory content, but it was good refresher and as the day got on, the content and the material got better and better. But I think the overall theme was to have a strategy, a clear value proposition and to be putting out content, which everybody knows, you know, that they need to be doing, but just gave us a little bit more idea on how to execute that strategy. You know, long form content versus short form content, where that content should be posted. So I think those are my biggest takeaways from the event. But one of the, you know, the themes I saw overall was that at these conferences and today was no exception, you get a lot of high level ideas. So, you know, they're telling you this is what you should be doing, this is what you need to be doing. This is based on these overall themes in the market. And the problem with that is like, yeah, I know I should be doing this, but how do I do it? So I noticed like a lot of the agents were there and lenders were there with like their notebooks open, waiting to write down. Okay, step one, step two. And their notebooks were empty. So they kind of heard things that they agree with, but they just don't know how to execute them. So what I did was like walk around after each session and talk to the guys, the speakers and like said, okay, practically, like, what did you mean by this? Like, what are you actually doing step by step? Can you give me some tips? Practical, like, what's, you know, I know you like to do this, you said to do this type of content. Give me an example of that type of content. So I took a lot of those notes and over the next few weeks I'm going to be putting out content that kind of goes over practical ideas in a simple format because I think simplicity is what a lot of the attendees were looking for and didn't get. So that's going to be my focus going forward, is to kind of bring this value back to the agents and partners that I work with. And yeah, just stay tuned for that.
