A short conversational clip examining why many entrepreneurs struggle in marriage and family life. The speaker argues that a tendency toward narcissism helps entrepreneurs succeed in business and on social media but is destructive inside intimate relationships and parenting; they emphasize the need for internal grounding despite external success.
Why do entrepreneurs have such bad marriages and family life?
One of the common characteristics of really good entrepreneurs is that the narcissist it works for them in the business world.
And it works for.
Them in the social media world. But it is the worst ingredient to bring into a marriage.
And into parenting. And so when you have that sense of self importance and you bring it home and your wife isn't worshiping you, but someone else will worship you, it's so easy to be unfaithful when you are in a mode of self worship. The only response other people can give.
Is to submit.
To you and be devoted to you. And when you're in a real human a relationship, it doesn't work like that. And I, I think the key for entrepreneurs is no matter how much success you have in the outside world, your grounding has to be in your inner world and in that inner circle.
