GARY VEE ON MINDSET AND CONTENT FOR MORTGAGE, REAL ESTATE, AND FINANCIAL SERVICES

Transcript of a casual conversation (Gary Vaynerchuk and an attendee) about shifting from short-term/negative habits to long-term positive reinforcement, and applying that mindset to create practical, scalable content in financial services and real estate. Core ideas: pursue serving others long-term, use simple actionable "financial fitness" tips (e.g., couponing, small savings habits, local arbitrage like garage-sale flips or backyard beekeeping) as shareable content, and give away practical expertise for audience growth.
Hey, Gary, how are you? Good. It's a pleasure.
So nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you. How are you, sir? How you doing? Such a pleasure.
Nice to meet you. Just switched to basically looking at how can I be of service to everybody.
You went long term instead of short.
Term and it just like completely changed.
Because you were also in a better place in your own mind. Yeah.
So like, I just got. Instead of being addicted to destructive shit, I get addicted to like positive.
Yeah, I get it, man.
Like, people are like, thank you so much. You got me into my house. Like you took.
And then it becomes. The high is incredible, isn't it? Yeah.
It's like nothing else.
Yeah, I know. Dude, do you know what it feels like to be listening to this right now?
Yeah, I mean, it's just like.
It's like.
And then it's just over and over and then. So now I just want that feeling over and over. Like I just wake up.
Positive reinforcement is better than. It's so funny because you know what's funny. And you probably know this because you've tasted both. There's a very fine delta between the positive reinforcement and the negative reinforcement. Yeah, it's literally Star wars, like the dark side and like the Jedi.
It's like, what kind of content I can put out to grow my audience.
Because right now my audience is, I think financial fitness is how I think about it. Like, if you ladder it up, like hacks, like double couponing or like did you know? Or like where people get really high is simplicity. Like, did you know that everybody in Reno, you know how this works? You know better than I do. I'm just dangerous. Like, did you know if you fucking put honeybees in your backyard, you get a $900, you know, shit that gets people crazy. And then you do it, like, put honeybee. Like there's some really. It's kind of what I'm doing right now with the garage sale thing.
Yeah.
Yeah. Like, that's not where I thought this was fucking going. But then I'm like, fuck back to like. I know that I've got real psychology shit going on. So when I hear this, I'm like, uh huh. I know that if I was the son of me and my children, if my children end up being psychiatrists or psychologists or things, I'm like, that makes so much sense because they went through a different path. It was generational. But like, if you told me that, it would be about garage sailing. But I'm getting the same high that you're getting. And so like, if I have to wake up at 6 o' clock in the morning on a Saturday and go to, like, somebody's lawn and take a picture of a fucking teddy bear and then show them that that teddy bear cost me a quarter and it's worth 18 bucks on eBay. I do think financial fitness. Okay, like, yeah, like, I'll give you a good one. Like, Facebook or Instagram posts are like, you can make $987,000 in your life if you. And then the punchline is if you put away $1.49 every day in the bed. Like, you know shit that you know that I don't know. But you see where I'm going. The sizzle. You walking into, like, the local supermarket in Reno that everybody knows whatever the fucking chain is, Right? Saveway. I don't fucking know. And talk about angles of how people like you make it about money. You see where I'm going, It broadens you. And the same logic that you use on the arbitrage and the angles and, like, the IP that you have for your craft. Yeah, I'm very big on financial, like, little tidbits. It fucking kills. Okay.
How they could basically do what he's doing financially.
It's the scalable. It's what I do. Just give it all away for free.
I just said, fuck all this. Like, the one thing I'm good at. I'm gonna go all in with this. And it's practical. Like, that's where you make the money. Stop trying to be like, put your money into something. You don't know anything about crypto. Yeah, exactly. So it's the same thing. That whole thing of being practical with what you're doing just really clicked with me.
Glad, man. So it's a real pleasure. It's a real pleasure to meet you, man. For real. Yeah, Real pleasure. Take a photo. Yeah.
Thanks, man.
I'm really glad you made the trip, man.
Yeah.
Please network out there. Real pleasure, man. Pleasure. Take care.
Have a good night.
