How I Networked my way to MILLIONS $

A speaker describes cold-emailing their way to a speaking slot at Cole Hatter's Thrive event through repeated outreach, mutual introductions, and buying merch. They got a backstage meeting and last-minute stage time by refusing to give up.
So I have a really cool story about how I got on one of the biggest stages in the entrepreneur space. How this led to me connecting with amazing individuals, some of my heroes in business, and then that led to so many amazing opportunities in the future. Now, before we get into the story, I want to quickly tell you why this is so valuable. See, there's many things that have helped me in business over the years, and these things I've talked about in many videos.
But there's two things that I rarely.
Talk about, and that is business and networking. Frankly, very few people talk about this. But here's the thing. Live events has been a big driver of my success because I've met amazing individuals there. And then eventually I got to speak on some of these stages. Now here's a story about how I got to meet with one really cool person who's led to a great business relationship going forward. Cole Hatter. And then also how I got to speak at his event, Thrive, which is one of the biggest events in the entrepreneur and business space. Now, I was a total long shot.
To speak at this event.
The guy putting on the event was Cole, who I wanted to connect with, but he didn't even know who I was.
And I.
And then this event had some of the biggest names in business speaking at the event. So I was totally out of my league. Now, keep in mind that Cole and.
I are now friends. We've done business together.
He's spoken at my events, and so this was the first time that I got to connect with him, and it led to a really cool relationship going forward. So check it out and stick around to the end of the video because how this thing played out was shocking.
I see this event show up in my feed for Thrive. How could I get on this stage? Like, let's figure out how to get on the stage. This is how we hacked our way to the stage of Thrive. And I reach out to Cole, who's putting on Thrive, and said, hey, dude, I just spoke at this event. Doesn't reply, no thanks. You know, no reply. I tried again. No reply. Followed up. I get a one liner or two liner. Dude, that's great. You can buy a bunch of tickets, but you can't speak. We're full. Like, thanks, but get off. Like, get out of here. You're crazy. Yeah, yeah. And how many people reach out to him? I'm sure. And now putting on my own event. It seems pretty crazy to reach out to someone cold and be like, yo, dude, I'd love to speak. So then I asked Brad and Billy, who I'd known from previous. Hey, dude, could you message Cole and tell him that Neil's legit and I'm not some weird dude because of that? Now, he paid attention, jumped on a call with me. He's like, dude, okay, I got a call from Brad and Billy that you're legit and I should talk to you. Dude, happy to talk to you, but we're just full. Thanks, but no thanks. I remember coming to the event, and then I might get a chance to speak as well. So stay tuned and asking again, absolutely no fun. And then, so at the event, and we're watching his wife speak, and her whole speech was how she was relentless with reaching out to the rock. And it was like, persistence wears down, resistance. Like, I'm just getting ideas like, shit. You know, how could I provide value even more? Maybe I could donate to the causes that they're a part of. Maybe I could do this or do that. So I come up with another pitch, and that's dead again.
It's his final thrive. He has a merch table, a lot of shirts, hats, T shirts, and they.
Said they got to sell them all.
The final one, it's all got to go. And you went to the. To the lady running it and said, tell Cole I'll buy all of it. There's a guy named Neil here who wants to buy all of the merch. Oh, man, what's a pain point for this guy? And then he stands on stage and says, I don't want to take this home. Everybody go buy it.
Yeah. So I just thought that would be one that would at least get his attention. Didn't work, really.
But now he gets another text with Neil's name in it. Like, this guy is absolutely relentless.
And then the next thing is, is and you add your camera with that. You pull it out, and Cole's talking. You just start filming. And then we go back to the hotel at night, and you're like, hey, dude, turn your airdrop on. I was like, why? He just dropped me this video, and it's Cole speaking. But it was a dope edit. So I posted to my story, tag him, and it makes the person look good because it was a dope edit, and the music's good and everything's good. So then he immediately sees it somehow and shares it. And then that was just another notch.
And then what name is at the top of the story?
Neil. I sent a text the next day. I said something like basically saying, dude, I'm just being persistent. Like, literally, what? What you guys just told us to do. I'm doing it. He replied to that text and was like, you know what? Meet me backstage at lunch or backstage at Thrive. And then he's like, you're one relentless. And he's like, dude, we're going to figure this out. I'm going to put you on right after lunch. Dingra, Dingra. Yeah, Neil. Dingra.
Ding like a bell. Dingra.
Yes. Dingra, dingra. But it doesn't matter. This is cool.
You didn't have a spot.
Yeah, I didn't have a spot. So cool. I'll take whatever I can get at this point. It's about to go on in about 10 minutes. So he's like, dude, I'm going to put you on stage right after lunch.
So I wanted to give you guys a little bonus session while you guys are getting situated, coming back from lunch and getting nice and comfy the rest of this.
And you, are you ready to go right now?
Give a huge round applause and I'll bring you out.
Yeah, Dingra. Yeah, Dingra.
