Short instructional segment from the YouTube video "HOW TO MAKE BETTER INSTAGRAM STORIES" (May 2023) in which the speaker explains simple camera techniques to make Stories feel smoother and more engaging. Key advice: keep feet planted to reduce bounce, introduce controlled movement (pan or push in) rather than static shots, and use the wide lens to achieve smooth zooms/pans.
So one thing that would work when you're doing that just is more people won't tune you out in stories is when you're showing something being smooth with the camera. The best way to do that is to just have your feet planted and then move this. Because when I'm walking, this thing's moving a little bit. And that's okay to walk and do it. Like, it's not supposed to be perfectly smooth. But the worst type is, like, when you're showing something and it's just, like, bouncing. So I'm just trying to stay smooth with it. You want it to be smooth so it's not. More people don't tune you out. So all you have to do is just pan or push in forward, like, move. So you want it to be moving. Like, if I'm just showing the coffee, and I just. That's like a picture. So for video, you want some movement, you can use this wide lens. So use the wide lens. So if I'm using the wide lens and I'm trying to do the soda, then I just drag this up to zoom in and zoom out, right? So then now it's super smooth.
