This is a YouTube video titled "The Biggest Mistake Brands Are Making With Their Marketing" containing a conversation recorded on April 24, 2023. The discussion features Neel Dhingra and another speaker talking about the importance of humanizing brands in marketing, emphasizing sharing personal content and using plain text emails to create authentic connections with audiences.
When you create all the content, you're putting out all the value. You're missing a huge piece of the audience if you don't share that personal stuff. And I understand people have like a privacy issue where, you know, I don't want to share my kids or this. And that's fine, you can go as far as you want. But if you're not sharing something to humanize you, you're missing out on that whole connection piece.
And oftentimes the people on social probably know more about you and care more about you sometimes than the people in real life. And one of the things like on the humanizing piece, I think with E Commerce in particular, because that's my bread and butter, one of the things that they get wrong is they don't humanize the brand. They just focus on their product or they just focus on the content company and not the people that actually work for the company or create the company. So what we basically do is we send more often than not plain text emails. So there's plain text emails and there are those designed emails. Right? Everyone gets the designed emails. Mixing in plain text emails is so important. Plain text, like you'd send a normal email to a colleague and that coming from like the founder or a community manager or whoever's the face of the brand, that is super important.
