A short YouTube monologue (by Neel Dhingra) offering a simple, actionable hack to get comfortable on camera: record a short video of yourself every day for 10 days, keep the files private, and use the repetition as a desensitization process so you feel less self-conscious and more willing to post by day 10.
It's uncomfortable. I hated the way I look and sound, all that kind of stuff, just like everybody else. The hack is this. You take your phone out, you look at it and you talk. Make a video. 10 days. You don't have to post it. Just keep that shit on your phone. Don't even worry about it. But by day 10, you'll hate yourself a little bit less. You won't be as bothered by your own voice. It's like a desensitization process. Just do it like every day for 10 days. On day 10, you're like, dude, I could actually post that video. And that was my hack of just, like starting it. I have so many videos that I shot that I never posted because I was too embarrassed or I thought I'd look like an idiot. But by the end of that process, you'll actually be able to do it.
