This is a YouTube video titled "They Lied to us About the Housing Market #realestateinvesting #housingmarket #investing" featuring Neel Dhingra speaking in June 2023. The content is a monologue where Neel discusses misleading predictions about hyperinflation, mortgage rates, and the housing market crash, sharing his personal investment experience and advising viewers to focus on data rather than fear-driven speculation.
Whatever happened to the people that said we were going to have hyperinflation, mortgage rates were certainly going to double digit percentages and that this was going to cause the entire housing market to crash? Do these people ever come back and apologize for misleading people and causing panic and fear in the marketplace? Just think about it. A year ago, how many people were misled by this line of thinking and then they sat on the sidelines and missed opportunities to get into a property. Now, I'm not saying that prices are going to shoot up immediately and everyone missed the opportunity. But here's the thing. There were massive opportunities. Six months ago, me personally, I took advantage of one of these. I bought a luxury home, a million dollars below what it was original originally listed for that we put a little bit into it and now it's already got six figures worth of equity in the property. And there are countless other examples of this that happened over the last six months. So here's the thing. When people put out wild predictions like this, it's not necessarily to be most accurate. It's to get everyone's attention because they know that fear and panic is what gets the most amount of attention. And yes, we did see a pullback in prices. And you're going to continue to see some bumps along the way depending on which market you're in. But make sure you're looking at the actual data and try to take emotion out of the equation.
