TRIP TO VEGAS TO MEET GARY VEE & RYAN SERHANT | VLOG 008

This is a YouTube vlog titled "TRIP TO VEGAS TO MEET GARY VEE & RYAN SERHANT | VLOG 008" created in November 2019. The content features Neel Dhingra and others documenting their experience attending a conference in Las Vegas, including interactions with Gary Vaynerchuk and Barry Habib. The vlog covers topics such as content creation challenges, business advice, and networking in the real estate and mortgage industries, with a focus on the importance of persistence and kindness in business relationships.
So we're at the Runway, about to head to Vegas and see Gary Vee. Let's go.
We made it to Vegas.
Hey, guys. So we made it to the conference here at the Bellagio, and so we just got kicked out of the venue. We had been set up to do some interviews and some content in the Bellagio. The chairman of the event, I asked his staff if I could interview him, and they called him, and he was actually just down the hall where I was, and I heard him on the phone with his staff, and he was saying, absolutely not. This is my effing event. Shut those guys down, have them pack their shit and get out.
I need you to exit the building immediately.
Even though I was like, yeah, no problem. I wasn't arguing with him. He even took it as far as to say, if I need to call security to have you guys escorted out, I will. We got a high roller. So I've been going to conferences for years. I've literally never heard anybody not encourage people to create content or share, because I think that's what actually brings more awareness to the events. But this guy has a different take on it. He didn't want us to shoot for whatever reason, so he was a dick about it, but whatever, we just roll with it. So we don't know where we're going to go, but grab some food and figure it out. So if you're new here, my name is Neil. I put out content to help lenders and real estate professionals. If you haven't done so already, hit that like button and consider subscribing. So many people I meet are in the business of no, no as in, why should I do that podcast or what's the point? Or I'm not gonna do this video. And the point is this. It doesn't matter if three people see it or 3,000 people see it.
It doesn't matter how it makes you feel.
There's only upside. As long as you're putting out something or doing some sort of content, whether that upside is limited or not, it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter what you think.
Instead of being in the business of no, I think we all need to get into the business of yes.
15,803 the honor be Channing. Yes.
So I just had an interview with my good friend Barry Habib, and he brought up something interesting before we did the interview. He said, there's nothing wrong with being nice. And it made me think. So many people in business, real estate doesn't matter. You know, lending, whatever your business is you always get into squabble with another party on a transaction or a coworker or even, you know, other industry people, and there's literally no upside in it. Like, you may have to work with somebody, that person in the future. You may have to deal with them on another transaction, or you may need help from them two, three years down the road. So it doesn't matter if you don't see eye to eye or if you have a disagreement. Just being kind and respectful has so much more upside, because then you can utilize those relationships in the future. So I think it's just something that everybody needs to look at in our industry. Day two here in Vegas. Today's gonna go hopefully a lot better than yesterday. We actually. There's a property right next to Bellagio. It's called Vidara. I was able to secure, like, a little meeting room, and we're gonna do the podcast over here.
Of Vagab Gary Vegas. Make some noise. Make some noise. Everybody make some noise.
We're here in Vegas setting up for Vega.
Stay tuned. Next winner is from. Neil.
I took your advice and started putting out content. Over the first six months, I got literally nothing good. I felt like I was eating.
Putting out content every day.
Yes.
No sales disinformation or entertainment, one or the other.
You've saved my whole world.
Thank you for saying that.
The first two and a half years I did one of my research, nobody watched.
I did it five days a week, every day.
Keep going.
So I almost quit doing it because I felt like I'm not getting any traction. Right?
You're like, everybody's full of shit.
Everybody in the industry is asking me, like, why are you doing this?
You're wasting your time.
The biggest problem for a room like this, including myself, is when you have sales DNA, the number one thing that we need is way more romance and patience. But people try to go in too hard. One day at a time, one day at a time, one day at a time.
And then you wake up 40 years.
Later and you've created a legacy.
Good to see you again, man.
It's great to see you again. Did you ask your question? Yeah.
Yeah. A bunch of people are just, you know, asking, and then they're like, let's do it. Yeah. And it's just like, I just tried. Like, we just started, like, just start. It's like you always talk about they're worried, but then the other thing is they need to see the whole thing.
Before they start one.
Yeah.
They need all, like, the whole map laid out. What's Gonna happen. What are we gonna do it?
What?
Like, people fear the unknown here with Gary.
We're about to head in, so stay.
Tuned for the podcast. We had a team set up to.
Do our interview with you, all, like.
Mapped out, laid out, and they're like.
Get the out of here.
So then we're like, dude, we're gonna go over here. We called over here. They're like, yeah, you can do it.
Over here, no problem.
So there's always a solution.
There's always a solution. I mean, we could do it on the street.
We could do it on the.
In the hallway, Right?
Literally, that's where. Like, that's my preference. Like, honestly, I would have rather us sit on the ground where we just were than walk the extra time. Like, to me, I'm never really overly concerned about where or what or lighting or production.
And just like.
But it's. But, you know, like, this whole thing, since I've had Steve following me around with the camera, like, just the best stuff just happens naturally. Yeah. And it's like, we never fucking planned it, of course. And it. And. But just the content has led to so many opportunities that, like, I never would have thought of.
More sense to me.
When we started, I'm like, oh, I wonder if subconsciously, consciously, their inc's gonna do it too. But this hasn't even started.
Like, you could turn it into lead gen.
I know.
This is like, what I love is, you can win twice. Hey, guys, it's Gary Vaynerchuk. We just wrapped up an incredible podcast around the mortgage industry. Neil did a great job. I'm really hopeful that you get the value that we both tried to provide. Please check it out.
So your brand is your reputation. Your reputation is something you can actually control. But to go above and beyond for your clients in a way that everybody else won't, that's your reputation. And your reputation will then grow as the person works harder and harder and.
Harder than the next person.
That's how I started.
We had a lot of good food this trip. We can't leave Vegas without stopping at Shake Shack. We're about to head out of Vegas.
One of my buddies had an unused.
Credit on one of his jet services, so he offered us a ride home. We're gonna get out of here. So it's been a really good weekend, but it's time to get home. So the message from this past weekend's conference was basically the same, but just to a different audience. And that was, there's going to be a threat of commoditization there's other companies coming after our business, whether you're in real estate or mortgage. So you really have to level up and kind of do what we're doing as far as putting out content, giving something of value to the end consumer, and doing a lot more of that consistently, not just one time and quitting. So it was just kind of more of the same as far as that message goes. But I did pick up a lot of little things and obviously we had.
A great interview with Gary.
So stay tuned for that content. If you haven't done so already, hit that subscribe button and I will see you guys on the next video.
Sam.
