In this YouTube monologue, Nick Howarth denounces fitness influencers on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram who promote high‑carbohydrate diets while flaunting six‑pack abs. He argues that carbs and processed foods inevitably cause insulin resistance, leading to weight gain, especially as human growth hormone levels decline in the mid‑30s to early‑40s. Drawing on his own experience of gaining weight after a carb‑rich diet in his twenties, he advocates a low‑carbohydrate regimen centered on healthy fats, grass‑fed protein, and organic vegetables, rejecting sugary foods, high‑fructose corn syrup, pizza, and donuts as detrimental to health.

Sometimes I have to laugh. I see these videos on on TikTok and Facebook about diet, with these guys who are ripped and they got muscle and they got six packs and they're standing with their shirt off making a banana loaf and sugary whatevers, and they say, "Yeah, carbs are good for you, man." Dude, I want to see you in ten or fifteen years' time, and then we'll see if your carbs have done you any good. Carbs and processed food are going to ruin you. They will create insulin resistance. It just does. It's not like what I say. It literally— that's how the body works. You've got to keep your insulin levels down, and by doing that, you've got to keep your carbohydrate levels down. So you'll get your carbohydrates from your vegetables. You can get a lot of carbohydrates from your vegetables. A lot of it is offset by the fiber, so it doesn't make you fat. But don't listen to these idiots on TikTok and Facebook and Instagram telling you that carbs are great and I'll get ripped and you'll get ripped if you eat these carbs. And it's like 20 years old that I— when I was 20 years old, I used to eat pizza and then I'd have 2 burgers after that and I would lose weight. You know, that's how it works because you have lots of human growth hormone when you're young. When you start hitting your Mid-thirties, early forties—that's when your human growth hormone just starts to deplete at a rapid rate, and you start to get fatter and fatter and fatter. And because you've been eating these stupid carbohydrates that these guys have been recommended, you're going to put on weight even faster than the average guy. That happened to me, so I know it. The only way that you will be healthy and lose weight is if you eat your healthy fats. Eat your grass-fed protein and eat your organic vegetables. That's the only way. That's the only way. That's what your body needs to live off. It doesn't need anything more than that. It doesn't need donuts or high fructose corn syrup or pizza or any of this stuff. That stuff really bad for you, man. Okay, cool. I think you got something out of that.
