In this instructional video Nick from Best Body Health Coach explains why some clients develop itching or rashes after starting the program. The program dramatically changes macronutrient ratios – removing fruit, processed carbs, sugars and seed oils while increasing vegetable intake and dietary fat. The body must adapt to the higher fat load, and the key bottleneck is bile production and flow. Nick describes how the liver makes bile, stores it in the gallbladder, and releases it to emulsify dietary fat (acting like dish‑washing liquid). Impaired bile flow – due to fatty liver, gallbladder removal or blockage, or liver dysfunction from drugs, alcohol, toxins – leads to bile leaking into the bloodstream, which manifests as itchy rashes, especially on palms, soles, lower legs, and back, along with dermatitis and fat‑soluble vitamin (A, D, E) deficiencies that cause dry, thin, bruisable skin. The recommended remedy is a short‑term reduction of dietary fat, supplementation with purified oral bile salts to aid digestion and clear gallbladder sludge, and generous intake of nutritional yeast for B‑vitamins. Nick reassures viewers that the issue is common, manageable, and not a sign of a serious health crisis.

Hi, it's Nick here from Best Body Health Coach. In this video, I'd like to talk to you about why am I itchy and/or have a rash when doing your program. So there are definite reasons for this, and it's not uncommon that it happens. It doesn't happen with everybody, but if it does happen, we know exactly what it is, and I'll go through that right now. So firstly, you've made a lot of changes when you've started our program, so you're eating food differently, obviously, that's why you're on our program. And the body has to have time to adjust. So you've changed your types of carbs, you're not eating fruit, you're not eating processed flour and grains and seed oils and— Yeah. Sugar and all of these things on our program, so that's been taken out. So you're eating a lot more vegetables, which are the carbs that we really want you to have. You've also upped the amount of fat in your diet, so you're having a lot more fat going into the digestive tract. You know, the body, like I said just now, needs time to adjust to this. The problem is the body's ability to digest fat. Now, that's really what's going on with this rash that you have on your body. Bile salts are made by the liver and stored in your gallbladder. So your gallbladder is like a little sac underneath your liver, and the liver produces bile. The liver sits around here, and it produces bile, it goes into this little sac. And it's got a little tube that goes into your digestive tract, and it pushes bile in when it's needed to break down fat, because that's what bile does. So the reason why you would have a problem with this whole thing, with the bile thing, is you've either got a fatty liver, which is most of planet Earth, you've got no gallbladder, so sometimes when the gallbladder gets blocked or it gets Stone in it or gets sludged up, then for some reason, the doctors think it's better to just chop it out than to clean it out, which is, yeah. Or your liver's just not producing bile. So, it might be compromised from heavy drug or alcohol use or pharmaceutical use or heavy metals or heavy toxins in the environment. So the liver's put under a lot of strain and then just isn't producing the amount of bile that it should be producing. The purpose of bile is to break down fat. So if you think about when you're washing your dishes in your sink after dinner and you've been eating fatty lamb chops or something like that and you've got fat all over the plate and you haven't got dishwashing liquid in there and you're trying to wash it off, it just somehow doesn't come off the plate. It's usually fat on the plate, you can wash as much as you want to, it'll just be smearing the fat around. But if you put some dishwashing liquid in there, then it seems to come off the plate. Now, why is that? What it does is it's a detergent that breaks it down into smaller molecules and it's easier to deal with them, so, because it's more surface area on these molecules and it's easier to digest or easier to wash off the plate, which is exactly what happens in the stomach. So, it, the bile breaks the down that fat, just like detergent that you put into your sink to wash your dishes. That's what the bile does. So it goes into your digestive tract and it helps break this fat down. And it helps extract fat-soluble vitamins and fatty acids from your food. And it detoxifies the liver. So the bile goes out into your digestive tract, gets used, and comes back. and gets processed and goes back into the liver. And it kind of, most of it just keeps on getting recycled. And when it doesn't come back into the liver because the liver's backed up or compromised, it goes into the bloodstream and then it tries to come out of the skin. And that's what makes you itchy and gives you a rash. It's literally bile in the bloodstream. So, the symptoms of having trouble with bile is you get a rash on your skin, normally on the palms of your hands or the soles of your feet get very itchy, your back, sometimes just all over your whole body, lower legs. It comes up in different places, but it's very common on the hands and feet and lower legs. And obviously itchiness comes with that. Dermatitis, which is obviously a skin issue. And then you get deficiencies, like skin deficiencies, which are, or at least vitamin deficiencies which affect the skin at least. So vitamin A, D, and E, which are all fat-soluble vitamins, they become deficient and that causes problems with the skin. You get very dry skin, you get very itchy skin, thin skin, bruise easily, all of these kinds of things. start to happen when you have vitamin deficiencies. So, what's the solution? So, what we would do initially on the program if the person develops this rash is cut back on the fat. We tell the person to cut back on the fat that they're eating so that everything can just kind of find itself again and the liver can start operating properly and it's not under a whole lot of strain that it's not used to. So, we cut back on the fat and then we also suggest the person takes purified bile salts. So, you take that orally in a capsule form, it goes in and starts to clean the liver out, it starts to loosen up all that gunk that's blocking up the gallbladder, and it also helps as a detergent in your digestive tract to break down the bile. And then we also suggest the person takes loads of the nutritional yeast, which is what you will see on your program. I don't think there's one of our clients that doesn't take nutritional yeast. It has so many, so many benefits, and this is just one of them. It is absolutely packed with vitamin B, and it's extremely good for you. And if you're lacking in vitamin B, you'll find low energy and all sorts of different kinds of symptoms, but that's for a whole other video. So that's the solution, that's the problem, and that's the video. So please subscribe to our channel, and I hope that helped and that And you, and you realize that it's not a big issue and it's quite easily handleable. We'll see you in the next video.
