4 REASONS why I'm getting rid of our stuff! It all has to go

Nicole Jensen is getting rid of everything, including a storage unit she's paying for. She wants to clear clutter, free up mental space, and be ready for road life when her youngest goes to college. She's giving herself 12 months.
Okay, I have four reasons why I am over our stuff. Reason number one, I'm tired of cleaning it. I don't want to clean stuff. If you have clutter and excess stuff in your house and you have to clean it for me, I feel like I'm wasting my time. I'd rather be doing other things. And I want to make sure that the things I'm cleaning are things that I love and things that I want need, not extra things where it's just duplicate or I'm keeping it because I feel guilty or whatever reason maybe I spent too much money on something. I don't want to keep it and have to clean it. So I'm tired of doing that. I'm good at organizing, but if you don't have the space for all the things you're trying to organize, it's not going to work. Everything needs to have a place and everything needs to be in its place. And if you have too much stuff, you just can't do that. Item number two is because we've got so much stuff, we have a house full of items as well as an external storage. I just looked at what we pay for our external storage. It's a big roll up door and it's full of stuff. It's very organized and I credit my husband for that. But you roll it up and look at it, it's not like it's that huge, but there's quite a bit of stuff in there. And it was intended to be something we would keep for six months. We've had it for two years. That's a lot of money for stuff we're not even accessing. It's just extra stuff and it's weighing us down. It's gotta go. You know, those last two reasons, you know, as are good reasons to declutter, right, Go through the storage unit, get rid of what you don't need, bring what you have left over to the house, and that's what I'm gonna do so I can stop paying that bill. But both those reasons, you know, if you just declutter, things will be better. But the next two reasons is why minimalism as a lifestyle really resonates for me and where I'm at today. So what is minimalism? It's not about throwing all your stuff away. It's about ensuring that the stuff you do own doesn't own you and it doesn't interrupt your life. Minimalists say it very simply. Minimalism is a tool that can assist you in finding freedom. And it applies to your home, your Finances, your health, and so on. So now that I gave you some context on what minimalism is, this is why it's important to me. Number three, I thrive in a clean and open environment. I'm much more productive. I love clear surfaces, and I don't want my stuff to control me anymore. I want to be able to wander. I want my mind to wander. I want my mind to be freed up. I always go out into nature, and I think the reason why nature resonates with me is because it's so open and free. I usually hike with these three, but we are avid hikers, and I just feel so, so good when I'm out there. It you just breathe freely and just explore, and it just feels so open. I want my house to feel like that, too. Number four, when our youngest goes to college in a few years, we want to be able to roam and explore. There's so much of the country we've never explored, and we don't want to wait till we retire. We plan to hit the road in some sort of vehicle with wheels. I'm not sure if it'll be a van, a trailer, whatever. We have a couple years to figure that out. But we don't want to be tied down by our stuff. We want to be able to have what we need. We want to be able to go out and explore and have experiences, not stuff. So we'll work from the road. We'll hike. I told you, we're avid hikers. We want to hike all over this country and just meet people and, you know, enjoy it. And we'll work from the road. You know, we can definitely do that. People are doing that all the time now, and we're setting ourselves up so we can also work from the road. So that's a huge motivator for me. So I need less stuff so that I can hit the road in a couple years. So based on all of this, my goal is to declutter and definitely get rid of that storage unit. And I have a ton of stuff at the house that I can declutter. And the nice thing is I have good stuff and somebody else can use it that would value it and that it wouldn't cost them the same discontent that it caused me. I just feel like there's just too much stuff. I want to live simply. I want to live intentionally. So that's my goal, and I plan to video it because I want to inspire others to be to just look around their surroundings and make sure that the things that they live with and around, they love bring them happiness and doesn't bring them stress. So please join me, subscribe and hit the notification bell and join me. It's not going to be quick if you It'll definitely take me a couple years, but I hope to put a huge dent in it in the next year and for sure get rid of that storage. I want that storage unit gone in 12 months or less. So I hope you join me. See you next time. Bye.
