Hi. Thanks for stopping by. My name is Nicole, and if you're new to this channel, this channel is focused on bringing you projects to help organize your life and your spaces. Today we're going to create a plant wall. Be sure to stay tuned towards to the end, because I'll give you tips on how to select the right shelving and plants. Let's get started. Okay, first step, you need to gather your supplies. So you need your shelving, your tools. To hang the shelving, you need plants and a variety of plants that you enjoy. You need soil pots and any other decor that you want to include in your final project. Okay. Step two is all about getting the space ready. So make sure that you have your space cleared, clean that you've painted, and done any wall prep that you want to do before you hang your shelves. If you've done that, we're ready for step three. Okay, step three, we're moving right along. So it's now time to install your shelving. Make sure and install your shelving per the manufacturer's instructions. We always recommend installing directly into studs so you can ensure they're sturdy and they'll be able to withstand the weight of the plants that you put on there. See you in the next step. Okay, now we're on to step four. And this is what I call dry fitting the plants. Take the plants that you have, assuming you just bought them and they're in their nursery containers still, put them on the shelving and organize them, move them around, turn them, and try different configurations to find the final configuration that you like. Make sure to also consider lighting and the growth pattern of the plants so that the space will work as time goes on. Once you have the final placement, then we're ready to go on to the next step. Okay, time to get your hands dirty. So now's when you're gonna go and take all of your nursery plants and put them into their final pots. So make sure to repot all the plants per the instructions that come on the little tags with the plants. So have fun with this. Okay, now's the time you put your plants on the shelves and kind of stick them in their final placement. Of course, you can still move them around tomorrow, the next day, next month, but get everything installed, and you're done. You have your plant wall. I hope you enjoy your plant wall as much as I enjoy mine. I know that every time I sit down to have a cup of tea in the morning or we have dinner at night, I'm going to enjoy looking at that plant wall and watching the plants grow, grow and mature. So take care of your plant wall. Comment below if you have any questions or comments like this video and subscribe to our channel. We have projects like this that come out weekly and be sure to stay tuned now for some tips and tricks that I have for you. See you next time. Okay, two super helpful items for you to buy off of Amazon. Number one is a repotting mat. That's the mat that I used in the video and I used underneath the plants while I was repotting them. The mat is it's leak proof so no dirt gets anywhere. No water leaks. It's amazing. It's a game changer. Second item is the watering can. If you have succulents in particular, it makes it so that you can easily water your plants without getting any water on the leaves. But I like to use it for all my plants except for the big ones and I am going to demo now how to use that watering can. I would recommend you pick up both of these items. They're the potting mat is under $10 for two mats and the watering can is again also under $10 for two watering cans. They're game changers. I highly recommend them. Ram. Okay, now's the fun part. You get to go buy plants. Here's some key things to keep in mind when you're buying plants. Before you leave to go to the store to buy them, make sure you understand the lighting in the space that you're putting this plant wall. Does it get direct sunlight? Does it get filtered light? Does it get no light at all? It's very important that you have those considerations in mind when you're picking out plants because you want to make sure that you buy plants that that fit your environment so that they look beautiful today, tomorrow and next year. So when you go to buy them, you know, you can look at big box stores, you can even look at grocery stores. You can look at flea market friends, nurseries. You can grow your plants from seed. There's so many ways for you to get plants and it, you know, you can spend more money or you can do it on a budget. Also, the size of the plant that you buy is going to have some different cost implications. So if you want to get one that's this big, you know, it may cost X, but if you got one that's half the size or a third of the size, it could be a third of the price. So if you want to do this on a budget, make sure you think about how you want to buy your plants and source them so otherwise pick things that fit what your circumstances are. This time I took my granddaughter to the nursery and she picked all my plants. Half of them are purple or pink, and then the rest are just ones that she liked and I just made sure they fit my lighting needs. So take your little ones. Just go on your own so you can pick what you know really pleases your eye and enjoy.
