Gerri explains when grain bags work in Australia: use them for low-moisture wheat, barley or sorghum for about three months only. Avoid them for pulses, oilseeds and seed grain. Site bags on well-drained sandy ridges away from vegetation, inspect twice weekly, and repair holes immediately with Silastic or quality tape.

Questions this video answers

About three months.

Preferably about twice a week.

Silastic for small holes; good quality tape for larger holes.

Well-drained, graded sites—sandy ridge recommended; away from large areas of native vegetation (to reduce bird/animal damage).
