A short GROWNOTES™ video (presenter: Gerri, the NVT Guru) introducing a module on sprayer setup. The speaker says modern self-propelled sprayers are getting larger tank capacities and wider booms, increasing overall weight and limiting tyre choices. The module will cover sprayer weight, balance, rims-to-tyre matching, tyre selection, and recommended air pressures (~20–25 psi) to minimise paddock damage.

The issue we have today with sprayers, especially self propelled sprayers, is we're going larger tank capacities and wider booms, which creates a lot more weight, and that really limits us with our tyre selection. And we're wanting to achieve about 20 to 25 psi tyre pressure to minimise the damage that we're doing in the paddocks. This module, I'll go through sprayer weight. Secondly, the balance of the sprayer. Thirdly, rims, because we need to match the rims up to the tyres. We'll talk about tyres and then the final thing is what air pressure will be needed and how to go about that.
