Authority means being the person everyone calls for a specific problem. The speaker argues you should identify a niche and become the go-to voice there, starting with spiritual authority grounded in prayer, fasting, and Scripture, which then translates into influence elsewhere.
I've been in a season where the Lord has been teaching me how to build and to reclaim authority, and the number one most important thing as it relates to building authority is becoming the go-to voice for a particular problem. Now let me explain. When you have a medical emergency, you know to call the paramedics because they're an authority in that space. When you have a spiritual problem, you know to call your preacher because they're an authority in that space. So building authority is making sure that you are the go-to for a particular problem. Follow. This could be spiritual, this could be intellectual, this can be in business. But right now I want you to just take one second and figure out what is something that you would be the first call for, for a particular group of people. And you need to develop that over and over and over and over. So in the season where there may be 10 options, you will rise to the front because you are an authority in that place. Now I want to make sure that we become spiritual authorities. So that means when there is an issue around you spiritually, You become the number one source of knowing how to fix it, whether it's your understanding of prayer or fasting or worship or your understanding of the scripture. We need to primarily become spiritual authorities because the authority that we have primarily comes from God, is in the place of the spirit, and that wisdom allows us to have authority in different places.
