A speaker argues that believers should crave God more than any created thing, even basic necessities like food and shelter. God is like oxygen itself, the source of all provision. The call is to reorient desire toward the Creator rather than what sustains life.
We need oxygen, and the very thing that created oxygen is inside of us. The fullness of God, man. So we need to use this concept as a way of telling ourselves, like, I need God more than I need air. I need the Creator more than I need creation. If we begin to compare God to those deep desires that we can't exist without, like, I need God more than I need food, more than I need shelter, more than I need clothing, more than I need nutrients and doctors and medicine. I I need God. I need the one that created all of these possibilities.
