A believer gains real power by giving it up. Jesus showed this by doing the Father's will instead of his own, and his most powerful act was refusing to use power on the cross. Your job is to yield control and let the Holy Spirit finish what God started.

One of the interesting things that I was going to discuss today is how the goal of a believer is to get control by relinquishing control. And I'll explain. Jesus said that his will is to do the will of the Father. My will is to do the will of the one who sent me. So by giving up power, he essentially used power. One of the things that, like, my friend Pastor Delapa, he said in this meeting was, on the cross, the most powerful thing that Jesus did was to not use power. So when you think about the role of a believer, our biggest assignment is to yield control. And one of the ways that we're helped to do that is when we read the Old Testament and pick some things that were deposited in the Old Testament but was made manifest in the New Testament, meaning the thousands of years between the Old and the New, nobody could have used their power to bring these things to pass, right? Nobody could have known that the, the, the book of Matthew or John or any of the Gospels was going to reference the things that we're reading in Exodus. So the best thing that you could have done is to just yield control and wait for the time where the Holy Spirit comes in to take control.
