God is both merciful and righteous, so He won't overlook wrongdoing. Jesus's blood saves you from damnation, but not from correction when you sin. Saved people who keep sinning should expect consequences.
This gonna cut a little deep. God is merciful, amen, but he's also righteous, meaning that he can't do no wrong. So if somebody commits a crime, his righteousness must respond. It has to. The blood of Jesus is what atones us from eternal damnation, but it does not stop God from correcting us. So you're saved, but if you commit a sin today and to think that there will not be consequences of that action, you have not read your Bible.
