God disciplines those He loves, and rejecting His correction means rejecting His love. True love isn't permissive; it calls out sin and holds people accountable. Seek relationships that reflect God's corrective love, not the world's.
Chapters
Rejecting God's correction is rejecting his love. The Bible says that he chastens or he disciplines those that he loves. So if you find yourself in the moment where God is trying to correct you or he's sending people to correct you and you are a person that can't be corrected, that's just as good as saying you're a person that can't be loved. And that's a big deal. Correction and love may not always look like they are equal things, and they may not always be on the same scale, but it gives us a perspective that love is not always enablement. Somebody loving you is not the same as them always encouraging you to do what you want or to live however you want to live. When friends come and tell you that you're wrong, when they come to rebuke you, when they call you out on your sin, That's love. And we need to find people that love us like God loves us, and not people that love us like the world does. So accept correction, especially from God. It's a form of his love. Peace.
