King Saul had a throne and everything, but God took his peace and it became torture. You can gain the whole world and still lose your soul. The peace that comes from God is the only thing actually worth having.
You know the worst part of how God punished Saul? He took his peace away. The thing is, you can have the house, the cars, you can be king, but if you don't have your peace, you will be tormented. I think one of the things that the Lord was using in that scripture was teaching us how as long as we have him, we have everything. Being a king without God will feel like torment. So as you are trying to rise up the corporate ladder and you're trying to accumulate all of these things for yourselves. Just remember, what profits a man if he gains the whole world but forfeits his soul? Peace that passes all human understanding is priceless. Peace.
