Have anybody ever given to the poor before? When you gave to the poor, did you expect anything back? That's prayer. So I'm like, why is God teaching about prayer and then beginning with charity? Because he knew people will boast about their charity. And if you can understand charity, you will understand prayer. So every time you give to the poor and expect something back is no longer charity. I don't even know what to call it. So the way— when you remember I said you give like you pray and you pray like you give. So if every time you give, you're already expecting something back, I already know how your prayer life is. But when we give, we give for giving's sake. You don't give to be seen. You don't pray to be seen. Amen. So now you begin to understand that as you read from verse 1 in chapter 6 all the way down, as Jesus is talking about charity, he makes understanding how to pray so easy.
