What to do after you accept Jesus

After accepting Christ, follow Peter's call to repent and be baptized, then adopt the early church's four practices: learn apostolic teaching in a Bible-believing church, share meals with other believers, and pray daily. The speaker provides resources and a newsletter to help new converts build lasting community habits.
Chapters
Wow, the tent was amazing. We prayed, we worshiped, we harmonized of God's Word, we preached the Gospel, and some people gave their life to Christ or rededicated it. And they're probably wondering, "What shall I do?" That's the same words that was the response to Peter's sermon in Acts chapter 2 when he preached the Gospel, and he gave an answer of what to do next. And I want to echo that answer. Repent and be baptized. Now remember, repentance is the distancing of yourself from sin. So you've turned, now create distance. And then baptism is one of the sacraments that we hold to, which is publicly identifying with Christ. So you want to make sure that you are publicly identifying in Christ by being baptized into him, into his community, into the discipleship process, and That process is outlined in Acts chapter 2, verse 42. So some homework for you: study Acts 2:42. The Bible says that they continue steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship and the breaking of bread and in prayer. So there's 3 things that I want you to take away from that. One, they continued daily. This is a daily walk. Every single day you have to do these things. And the First thing of those to-dos on that list is find a Bible-believing church, read your Bible, continue in the apostles' doctrine. If you find a solid Bible-believing church, it's going to solve 70% of your problems in this walk with Christ. The second thing is fellowship and break bread. I believe that disciples are made on the dinner table and not in the pulpit. So Find a community of people that meet outside of just Sundays, that come together and they fellowship and they do life with each other. And then the third thing is prayer. Prayer. Praying daily, praying for more of God, more of his word, more of his presence, and doing that by yourself and corporately in community. And if you need help with any of these three parts, either it's finding a church or finding a community or praying, I have some resources right below this video to help you along the way. And remember, the tent is temporary, but heaven is forever. So as you are part of this community now, as a tent-goer, we're going to make sure that we try our best to equip you, to give you resources on prayer, worship, harmony with God's words. It starts with this video. If you want to learn more, there's going to be a link to subscribe to our newsletter. If you have been to the tent, I've already added your email to that newsletter, but we're going to be sending some more resources about future tents, future programs, future songs, everything that you need to know about the tent's efforts. So God bless you all. Welcome to the community. I'll see you soon.
