A deck is propped up on inadequate boards instead of proper 4x4 footings, causing it to lean and pull away from the building. The structure could collapse and injure anyone on it. Spotting these defects during property inspections can prevent costly repairs and accidents.
Major health and safety violation. Check this out. Okay, so this is a deck off a building. This is the original post. It's a 4x4. That'd be a normal thing to put a footing on. What they did is they propped the deck up on these little twig boards here and here, which if you zoom out, look at this, that whole thing is leaning and breaking off the building. As we get in here, look at this, it's literally ripping the building apart. This is someone— this is going to fall off while someone's on it and someone's going to get super injured. If you're doing a walkthrough on a property, this is the type of stuff you need to catch up front because you're definitely going to have to pay for it later.
