In this solo YouTube presentation, Cody Davis explains why a personal story is more valuable than any single real‑estate transaction. He recounts how sharing his own narrative and learning a mentor’s story in Moses Lake led to a partnership that will fund a $10 million development, even though he feels unqualified. Davis argues that storytelling builds trust, opens relationships with “players” in the market, and ultimately enables investors to scale from small multifamily rentals to large development projects. He outlines a simple process: identify property owners, study their histories, connect through shared experiences, and emulate their successful tactics. The video also promotes his instructional video on finding any property owner and his paid program at themulti‑familystrategy.com, urging viewers to subscribe and use these resources to accelerate their real‑estate careers.

And because I shared my story and I really uncovered his, he's going to help me build out my whole Moses Lake development portfolio. It's going to be a $10 million development. I have no clue what I'm doing. Story is worth more than the real estate. Always has been, always will be. And today we're going to talk about that. Welcome back to the channel. My name is Cody, and if you're new to the channel, make sure to hit subscribe. We talk about the simplest ways to buy real estate, with $0 out of pocket. Today we're talking about the big one, your story. Most people don't really understand this, but your story is worth more, and the story that you build will always be worth more than the portfolio that you acquire. That is what allows you to connect with other people, and we really want to chat about that today because so few people understand this. The ability to use your story, where you're coming from, where you want to go, and what changes for you when you get there determines if people are going to engage with you. That's it. It's just that simple. Some people view the trophy, the prize, as the piece of real estate. They get a high off of targeting some deal, going out, trying to buy it, closing on it, and then they celebrate. But what's really powerful is when you build a relationship with somebody else and you can work with them alongside them, they can help you out, show you how they got to where they're at. You can resonate on goals and use your story to get to where they are at and then accomplish some of your goals. It's just that simple. But you got to go find the players in the space and connect with them. So when it comes down to getting started, I had a 12-plex, my very first 12-plex, and I reached out to someone in Moses Lake. I'm not going to name names. However, they were my very first start into Moses Lake. They sold me a 12-plex. I first met with them. They said, here are the rents. They wrote down a little notepad and they said, here you go, make me an offer. It was a little transactional. However, they did sit me down. We got in their truck and he showed me around his portfolio and he told me the story of each property, how he bought it, where he was at in his life, and how it helped move him forward. And he told me, Cody, you get your 40 rentals, then you develop. And the development will make you rich, but if you don't have the rentals, you'll lose the development. And so he told me his little story of how he got to where he was at and why each thing had to happen the way it did. I bought my rentals and I got to 110, had the resort. And way back when this guy told me, Cody, you need to do a new roof on this. Take it from a flat roof, take it to a pitch, and it'll be way better. It'll pay for itself. It'll be well worth it. I couldn't afford it. So 2 years later, I finally got to a place where I could afford it. And I let him know. I said, hey, it worked. Not only did he offer to sell me more properties, he sold me a few properties, some multifamily, but he offered to sell me his whole portfolio. And he said, You're ready to develop. You've made it. And because I shared my story and I really uncovered his, he's going to help me build out my whole Moses Lake development portfolio. It's going to be a $10 million development. I have no clue what I'm doing, but because I shared my story with him and I really learned about his, how he got to where he's at, he's helping me move forward and do all the things that he had to learn on his own. And so while the trophy could be a piece of real estate that can make you a lot of money in cash flow and get your equity growth, it's great. The story is what's allowing me to go to that next level because I learned how someone got to where they're at, and I utilize that to really take my portfolio to the next level alongside the relationship going to that next level. It's really, really simple at the core. You meet with the players in the space, you learn how their story got them to where they're at, how they played the game, all the little mistakes they made, and then you try and emulate little bits and pieces of that, and that builds your own. This can build your track record This can build even if you don't have any real estate yet. This builds a trust with people to help you get from where you're at to where you want to go. If you're looking to figure out how to actually find that owner for you, we talk about finding the players in this space. We do have a video. It's how to find any property owner ever. I actually do have my phone number in that because I am in fact a property owner. However, everybody's phone number is online and the way that I find people to build relationships with, I show in that video. It's just a video where I go through line by line exactly how to find people how to reach out to them. It's on our page, how to find any property owner ever. Make sure to check that out.
