A real-estate developer is buying hotels in Grant County and converting rooms into affordable apartments. The existing hotel layout makes it cheaper to build studios and one-bedrooms in desirable locations. He's offering to help others replicate the model.

We are destroying the hotel industry, and here's why you should too. We got started buying hotels over in Grant County, and we're actually converting them over from hotels to apartments. There's a lack of affordable housing, and people are not building enough studios, one beds, and small two-bed apartments. What we are opting to do is turn these hotels that have these types of living quarters and turning them into apartments so that folks have an affordable place to stay in great locations.
