Hello my friends and welcome to this week's episode of A New Life podcast. I'm so glad you're here joining me today. I hope you have an awesome Monday that you've got started today. I know mine is amazing. There's always so much to do and it's such a blessing to be able to do what I get to do every single day. So grateful and so blessed. So I have a couple of announcements today, a couple things I can't wait for you to share. The first is this. I'm planning a webinar overview for my Commit to Be Fit health plan and that is coming July 9th at 3:00pm Central Standard Time. You would like to be included on this webinar, send me a DM or send me an email and I will add you to the list and make sure you get notification. You know, isn't it time that you create a healthy relationship with food? Isn't it time that you put your health and wellness first in your life instead of every other priority comes before yourself? You know, you reach a certain point in your age and in your life and you realize that you have to make and intentional decisions for your health. That you're not just going to stay healthy for the rest of your life. You have to make intentional choices and intentional decisions. And I'm telling you this is a health plan that anyone can follow. It's not about counting calories. It's not about counting macros or ordering food online. It's everything that you can get from the grocery store and it's everything about learning good healthy self care, learning how to eat the proper foods and when to eat them. So join me July 9th at 3pm Central. I can't wait to share this information with you. And also as you remember, in 2020 a new life concert, a conference was planned and had to be delayed because of COVID Well guess what friends. Together we rise. A New Life conference is coming back this fall. So get get your glasses on and get ready and watch out for the save the date that's going to be coming soon. We're working on nailing down some incredible speakers but that is coming this fall. Cannot wait for this. It is a long term, long time overdue. Super, super excited. So today's episode is titled you don't have to erase trauma for you to heal from Trauma. Such a Powerful statement. I heard that quote the other day while I was listening to somebody else's podcast. And you know, you can't erase history. You can only learn from it. And your past is your history. The history of your life truly has made you into who you are today. Without the past experiences, you would not have the knowledge, the lessons learned, good and bad and otherwise. So instead of trying to erase your trauma or erase your history, we're going to take kind of a walk through your history today, your past trauma, for you to embrace it and understand what you can learn and how powerful, how powerful your history is. I want you to think about the trauma that you've experienced in your life. Or perhaps you're in the midst of trauma right now, maybe right now, what's happening in your life. Pause for just a few moments and think about it. Get out your journal, get out a piece of paper, and think about the things that are either happening right now, today in your life, or the things that have happened that you're trying to forget, that you're trying to erase. The things that you're trying to keep a secret, the things that you don't want anyone in the world to know because of your own guilt and shame, even though it was a traumatic event that happened to you. Does your traumatic event take you back to your childhood? Were you abused emotionally, physically, sexually, as a child? How about your teenage years? Were you date raped? How about elementary school? Were you the target of bullies and mean kids? What about junior high? Were you laughed at by a group of your pen? What was high school like for you? Are you carrying trauma from high school? Maybe you didn't make the team that you tried so hard to be on and you always wanted to be on. You felt left out, like no one cared. You were the kid that was never seen. You blended in. What about trauma from a divorce? Maybe the divorce of a parent, maybe the death of a loved one? Maybe you just recently lost a parent or you lost a child. The trauma from a current abusive relationship, whether it's an emotional abuse or a physical abuse, maybe you're living with a narcissist right now and sometimes that abuse is so painful. Maybe you were fired from a job and now you feel unworthy, unintelligent, like you can't do anything. Or worse, you are a victim of domestic violence or you were violently raped by a stranger. You know, wow, that is a lot. All of those things are so much. Trauma is a lot to absorb. But no matter what the trauma is in your life, it is Part of your history and it truly is what has made you into who you are today. You know, I don't want you to just be a survivor from trauma. I want you to learn how to survive. But then to thrive. Where the thriving comes in is where you embrace that trauma. And I want to share something with you that's so powerful. You get to decide what your trauma takes from you. Don't give the experience of that trauma more than what it's already taken from you. Stay strong in knowing that you can overcome, that it is in your control and that you get to decide exactly how much the trauma takes from you. Every traumatic event takes something from us. It steals something. It steals part of your soul, part of your heart. It steals your confidence, your self worth. It steals innocence. Trauma, if allowed, will take everything from you. But you get to decide when you've had enough. You get to decide what that trauma takes from you. And friends, don't let it take any more than what it already has. And the more you face your trauma, face the things that haunt you, face those things that you don't want anyone to know about that you're embarrassed about. Tell your story. Tell your story. You will carry less and less guilt and shame as time goes by. Seek out your power in the situation. What were you meant to learn going through the trauma that you have gone through or that you're currently going through? What are you needing to learn? What is the part of the trauma that makes you powerful? Take what you were meant to learn and make it your purpose. Your purpose in life is not to be served, but to serve others. Your purpose is to impact the lives around you. And I know that you have heard me say this to you before. But telling your story, your story can become somebody else's survival guide. All of the things that have happened to you absolutely have purpose and meaning. And they have happened for you every time you face something that's really, really hard. I'm not just talking about going through a bad day, because we all have bad days where you have your ups and your downs, things that are just whatever and you can't wait for tomorrow to come. We all have those. But the deep seeded trauma that is causing you to make decisions as an adult, perhaps something that happened when you were a child, that still has control over you, that your decisions, your confidence levels, your self worth still stems from something that happened many, many years ago. You have purpose in that. Life is hard. It's not meant to be easy. Not always. Because when it's easy, you're less likely to learn something. Truly, everyone experiences the hard times, but you are meant to learn and grow from them. And honestly, the biggest lessons are found in the messiest parts of your life. So the message is in the mess, my friends, dig back into those traumatic events that are molding and shaping your decisions. Look at that trauma and decide today that that trauma will take nothing else of you. Not one more thing will be taken from you because of something that happened to you. I want to empower you today and lift you up today, my friends, to stop allowing your trauma to take one more thing from you because you are bigger than your trauma. Embrace your history. Embrace your past. You can't change it. It is what it currently is. You cannot change your past, friends. But you get to decide the impact that past has on your future and on your today. And I hope, my friends, that you make that decision today. That you decide. That you decide. Friends, thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you have an amazing week and I hope that you will put on your calendar July 9th to join me for a webinar Commit to Be Fit Health and Wellness webinar coming up as well as be on the lookout for the Together We Rise Women's Conference coming up this fall. Make it a great week, my friends.
