Hello, my friends and welcome to this week's episode of A New Life podcast. I'm so glad you're here joining me. I hope you are doing well. Everyone in your life is happy and healthy and life is good. I hope that for you. My topic today is a pretty fun one. I'm pretty excited to share this with you. I've titled it when is Now? You know how you go through life thinking, you know, when I lose weight, this is going to happen. When I am healthier, that's going to happen. So you know, when are you going to make the decision to change your relationships? When are you going to make the choice to be healthier? When are you going to make the decision to change your career? When are you going to make the decision to start the business of your dreams? When are you going to make the decision to show up for your kids? When are you going to make the decision to change your. Your life? We all have been at that crossroad. Some of you listening are at that crossroad right now. And it's not necessarily a fun place to be. But if we're honest, we all have been at that crossroad. But it's necessary for us to answer the question when is when? When are you going to make the decision to change your life in the way that you want it to be changed? I don't want you to think you have to make a giant radical decision because you don't. But the most important choice that you can make are small changes. Small changes over time turn into big changes. I heard someone speaking about their business not too long ago on a podcast and they said, yes, I'm an overnight success that took me 10 years to get there. Changes happen over time. Small changes are better than a giant radical change because those small things turn into big changes if given proper time. Now, some of you might be thinking, but I don't even know where to start. Well, here's a news flash, my friends. Yes, you do. Most of the things that you aren't doing or haven't done are not because you don't have the answers or not because you don't know what to do. It's because you're being lazy. And stop thinking like you are a victim of your life and start thinking about how you can change your life. When is when. When is now? You have the Answers, I promise you, you do. The answers may not be what you want to hear. They may not be what you want to do, because it seems easier to stay stuck than what it actually would be to do something about it. So when you think or when you say out loud, I don't even know what to do, you really do know what to do. Let's start with that bad relationship. You know, maybe it's time that you could start speaking in a nicer tone to your spouse. Be more clear regarding your needs and not expecting them to be mind readers and know exactly what you need them to do or what you want them to do. You know, part of the problem with communication in relationships is, you know, reality. Most men think with emotional values in black and white. The colors of their emotion are black and white. It's this or that. Women, when we speak about our emotions or feel our emotions, we feel our emotions with every single color under the sun. So for us to expect our spouse or significant other to know what they need from you or what you need from them or what you want them to do is really impossible. Like you're holding up a stop sign, but yet in your mind you're saying, go. They just, they don't understand that. They don't think the way we think. And that's okay. That's why, you know, God made us different. We are supposed to be different. But we also need to come to a reality that they're not mind readers. We have to learn to communicate more clearly and more specifically and don't have the expectation that they are just going to know the right things to do. Do something nice for him, even if you don't think he deserves it. Do something nice. Start changing the tension, releasing the tension in the home and in. In the relationship. Maybe you're in a relationship that just needs to end and that's not a fun place to be. But. But sometimes that is exactly where you are. There is no mending or patching or fixing. Then start with your exit strategy. Start small. It doesn't mean that you're blowing up the relationship today, but just start with a plan. Just start. Make a small step. You have the answer. You really, really do. But out of your own fear and insecurity, we ignore what we know. That's so true. We ignore what we know out of fear of facing that reality. You know, you don't want to face the ending of a relationship because, let's be honest, who wants to go through a breakup or a divorce? No one wants to go through that. It's painful, it's hard. It's really hard. It leaves scars, it opens wounds. It does all the things. But if you know that a relationship needs to end, then make a plan and start with a small decision. And that first decision might simply be that it does need to end. That's decision number one. And the next step is to figure out the exit strategy. Create the exit strategy. It is time to face reality and face it, my friends. Going through the motions in a relationship is a lose, lose life. Staying with someone because it's convenient, or you've been with them so long, but yet you're not fulfilled. You don't feel loved, perhaps you're ignored. It's no way to live, friends. And life is short. One of the biggest commodities that you have in your life is your time. And you deserve to be loved. Friends. So what about your weight and your health? Do you like what you see in the mirror? Have you lost so much of yourself that you don't even care? Have you let yourself go because you don't want to be seen? That you're hiding behind your weight or your health? That's such a tough one. And it is a tough one for a lot of people. When I lose the weight, I'm going to do xyz. Fill in the blank. When I lose weight, I'm going to get our family portraits taken. When I lose the weight, what are you waiting for? Now, I'm not suggesting that you dive into a radical diet. I don't believe in diets at all. I believe in health plans. Health plans will set you up for success. I'm working on the release of a new health plan which will be coming very, very soon. That is not about a diet. It's about your health. It's about resetting your metabolism, reintroducing real food and going from there. If you can stick to a health plan, 80% of the time, 80% of the time you're eating healthy foods. 20% of the time, you're not. I promise you, you are going to lose the weight. And even if it's not weight that you need to lose, you're going to feel so much better once you start concentrating on your health. It's not about weight. It's not about the number. It's about your health. Not only the health that you have physically, but it's about the health of your home. Having a healthy home is so important. Taking the toxins out of the home, out of the cleaning supplies, out of all the things that you bring into your home, taking all of those toxic, nasty waste. It's toxic waste. Taking it out of your home, part of your health and your wellness. When are you going to start making your health and wellness a priority? Start with small steps. Start with small steps. If you are someone who consumes a lot of soda or sugary drinks, start with that. Instead of having three cans of soda a day, drop it down to one a day. Take slow steps. If you are not someone who enjoys working out, that's okay. But start with a walk around the block. And the next day, do two. Two walks around the block. Do two, two rounds, three rounds. Build up to it. Your future self will thank you, I promise you. When you start making your health and wellness a priority. So why are you staying stuck in a job or a career that you don't love? It doesn't set your soul on fire to get up each day to go to work. What's keeping you from going for the promotion? Afraid that you might apply and not get the promotion? Well, instead of looking at it like that, think about it this way. What will you learn if you don't get the promotion? Think about how much more clear your future is, knowing what you need to work on. Maybe you've been passed over for a promotion in the past and you're thinking, why? What's wrong with me? Well, nothing's wrong with you. Maybe you just need to sharpen a skill. Maybe you need to learn something new to be able to fill the position properly. It's not a personal thing. It's not a personal attack on you or a personal oversight. It's really about, what do I need to learn to advance my career? And you never know until you apply. You never know until you put yourself out there. Are you in a job that you can't stand? It sucks the life out of you. You know what to do about it. You do. You have the answer. You are smart people. You have the answer. So do it. Here's some suggestions. Get your resume up to date. Start networking. Start dreaming again. Thinking about, what do you want to do that will set your soul on fire the minute you wake up in the morning? But just start small steps. Baby steps, friends. Start with your resume. Get it up to date. Let me ask you this. Are you choosing to stay in a job that you don't like? Because it's easier to complain about it than it is for you to hustle and find a different job. Ooh, ouch. Might have struck a nerve with a few people, but be honest with yourself and choose. Make a decision to Start. Make a choice friends. You get to decide. Honestly, you get to decide. So what about the dream of starting your own company? How much longer are you going to deny the burning in your soul? Denying the world of your vision, Denying the world of what you were created to do. We all have something very unique and special that we were meant to do to bring purpose into this life. Something that is God given to change and impact the world. Every single one of us is equipped with that dream and burning in our soul. Start with a business plan. Start by taking an online business course. If you don't know what it takes to start a business, then start with an online course. Hire a business coach. I do business mentoring. I would love to work with a new entrepreneur setting out on their journey of creating a business. Small Steps Friends. Success will not happen overnight. You will not open a business, hang up your shingle and become an instant success. But small steps repeated every day and over times, your dreams will come into fruition. But that will never happen until you start. When, my friends is now. It's now. Now is the time to start. Isn't it time that you show up for your kids? You know you have 18 summers with them before they graduate from high school. I know, I get it sometimes that the days are so incredibly long, especially with summer just coming in. And if you have little ones, wow, the days can be so very long. But I promise you all the years are very short. If you have a 13 year old, you have five more years with that kiddo under your roof before they turn 18 and graduate from high school and go off to college. They deserve your undivided attention. Put the devices down. Stop swiping and scrolling in the presence of your kids when you could be having a conversation. I want you to think about how much time you spend watching TikTok videos or reels, or scrolling through social media with mindless content that is infiltrating your brain that does nothing to advance your life. Stop scrolling and have a conversation with your kids. Put the devices down. Teach your children to put the devices down and have a conversation. Turn off the music in the car and let them talk about their day. Let them listen to you talk about your day and most importantly, stop trying to be their best friend. Your kids do not need a best friend out of their parents. They have best friends. They have friends that are their own age appropriately. So what your children need is for you to be the enforcer of rules, the guidance of healthy boundaries, and the source of knowledge and wisdom to help build their future. It's so important to not worry about being their best friend. They're not meant to be. They need you to guide them through this life. And the bonus is when your children become adult, independent children. That's when you get to create and grow a friendship with them. Because at that point, they don't need you as a. They don't need all of the guidance and the boundaries because you've already taught them those. That's when you get to be that best friend. So be patient, moms. You'll get there. And lastly, did you know that you are one decision away from changing your life? Yes. Just one decision. What is that decision for you? Is it about your health and your wellness? Is it about the relationship you're in? Is it a career change? Is it that business that you want to start? There is something you are meant for, something that God has created you to do. Something so special that you are the only one on the planet that can do it. What is that for you, friends? You have the answers. You know what to do. You know the answer to when is when. You have all the answers. Stop waiting for someone to tell you what to do. You're an adult. It's not like when you're a kid at home and your parents told you when to pick up your room or when to do this or when to do that. Stop waiting for someone to give you the answer and tell you what to do. And just do it. Start today, friends, with one small decision. One decision away from changing your life. Oh my gosh. That's so exciting. I hope that gets butterflies in your stomach. I hope that gets you excited. It's time for you to step out from behind the curtain and step into your life. Thank you, my friends, for joining me. I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you. I'm so grateful for you and honored that you would share your time with me.
