How To NEVER LOSE On Volibear - Comebacks Are Always Possible!

In this 30‑plus‑minute YouTube guide, retired pro Challenger player Perry Norman walks viewers through three very different Volibear jungle games, each illustrating how to turn a losing early game into a win. He begins by explaining how to assess gold and experience deficits, calculate the exact amount of gold you’re behind, and prioritize stabilizing by efficiently clearing camps and buying early boots. Perry then outlines a decision‑making framework for jungle pathing: reading wave positions, vision, and enemy jungler location to decide whether to farm, gank, or recall. Throughout the games he emphasizes the importance of identifying “fed” teammates (e.g., a strong bot lane or mid laner) and playing through them, while muting or ignoring inting allies. He demonstrates itemization choices for Volibear—early boots, Iceborn Gauntlet, armor/MR, and later tank items—to stay alive and provide frontline for fed carries. The video also covers objective control (dragons, Rift Herald, Baron) in comeback scenarios, using timing windows created by enemy mistakes. Perry repeatedly stresses mental resilience: staying calm, avoiding over‑committing, and using mute/report tools to handle toxic or feeding teammates. The guide culminates in a series of concrete tips—calculating gold deficits, efficient camp clearing, wave‑based gank decisions, leveraging fed lanes, adaptive item builds, and objective timing—that together form a repeatable recipe for never losing on Volibear.

Yo, what's up guys, it's Perry here. Today we have 3 Volibear games with completely different problems. One of these games we have a Senna running the game down, making it extremely hard to win. And there's 2 other games where we're down over 4,000 gold at 15 minutes and we still make a massive, massive comeback. If you guys don't know me, I'm Perry, a retired pro Challenger player, and I've been Challenger for 8 years, and Volibear is one of my best champions in the game. Drop the next champion you want to see in the series in the comments down below. And alright, I hope you guys enjoy the video. Alright guys, let's jump into a Volibear versus Hecarim game. This is such an interesting one because I have a Quinn mid or top, Ezreal, Yuumi. They have a freaking Vayne. All, all the champs in this game are so weird, not because they're abnormal, but more so because I, I don't really know what I want to play towards. Like, I'm going to path towards top lane here, which oftentimes I regret, but I'll path towards top lane because if we can kill that Vayne, that'll be great. And I don't think we're ever going to be able to kill the Bard and the Xerath. You know, I could be wrong about that. I, I could be very wrong about that, but it's okay. Let's, let's commit to what we're doing. Let's commit to our Path top. We're gonna E a little early, and this is like a little dangerous. So if you're, if you're ever scared to reset your camps, don't do this because it's very scary. If you need to auto attack the red buff a few more times, that's fine, but I would recommend to E the Krugs to pull it over. It's the fastest way to clear on Volibear, okay, on, on this side at least. Bot lane is already war. Honestly, I might have made a mistake. Look at this, okay. But what I can do is I can full clear top and then recall early and play towards bot lane. Quinn is fucking with the Hecarim. Okay, I don't know, I don't know if this is good or bad for us. Whoa, look at that! Oh, look at the Quinn moves! I unfortunately can't invade because I am warded. I'm on a ward, so because there's a ward, I cannot invade. And I would never walk over wards and tell the enemy jungler what I'm doing. I'd rather just play it a little safer and just farm my camps. Okay, so bot lane is war, as you guys saw. She's gonna use Flash and Ignite. Okay. That tells me I want to finish my camps as fast as I can and run mid lane because Qiyana has no flash or ignite. All right, I'm going to ping. I'm going to on the way ping my mid laner after the red buff, but the Qiyana is probably going to recall. Yeah, it doesn't look like there's much for me. Okay, Qiyana has no flash. I'm going to come here next to the Quinn. This is so hard. Honestly, I think I can make it to him. It's close. I, I— dude, okay, he— I like, like, I don't even, I don't even want to, I don't even want to talk about that. This is what we call a losing early game from my stupidity. What are we going to do to solve losing early game? People make mistakes. This is good to see a game where I forcefully lost the early game. First things first, We're down 2 crabs, we're down a kill. What do you do? Okay, you farm your camps. You're not farming for the eternity, but you're farming to get your first item. Okay, so although I am down some gold and some EXP, let's do the math. How much gold are we down from the enemy jungler? The enemy jungler got 2 crabs, so that's 200 gold, and then an assist mid lane, so that's around 150 gold, which means I'm down around 350-ish gold. I might get my item 350 gold slower, but that's not the end of the world. What's the end of the world is if I keep dying from this point on. If I keep getting myself killed, that's when the game gets really bad. So if you're behind in the early game, which I am, what I'm going to do is I'm going to stabilize by farming my camps and still getting towards my item. Okay, the other thing I'm going to think about is who's winning on my team? Who do I want to play towards? Who do I want to play through? If there's no one to play through, fuck, that sucks. But this game we have someone to play through. We have the bot lane. I'm gonna talk from the position we're actually in and not hypotheticals. We have a winning bot lane, let's play through them. Or at least they're, um, they're somewhat winning. And mid lane is like a disaster after what I did. Now it could still impact mid lane, don't get me wrong, it's still possible. And this Qiyana might try diving my Quinn, so I might come here. Oh wow, that's all my fault, bro. I'm gonna be so honest. Here's the thing, my bot lane is under their turret. We're not gonna be able to win this dragon. Let's recall, let's spend some gold. That's the best thing you can do in these games. You don't want to overstay on the map, you actually just want to recall. I'm gonna buy boots. Having boots early game on Volibear is great, uh, so we can actually catch up to people and make it there. They're gonna get the dragon, it is what it is. Like, the worst thing you can do when you're behind is to make things worse and dig your grave deeper. So my mid lane died, it is what it is. My bot lane died, it is what it is. I'm going to do the best I can given my situation, given my circumstance. So I'm gonna try to fight this top crab, one-shot it because the Hecarim was on the dragon. He's probably recalling, running over towards it right now. I'm gonna push it towards the top side because their Qiyana is giga strong and I— and this is the entrance. So pushing it towards the top side makes the most sense. And then I'm gonna grab level 6 and potentially play with my Ornn. On a play there. Now I do need to help my Quinn. Got full combo this guy. Beautiful. My Quinn found a super angle, and instead of staying like hard on the map here— I mean, I could. Let's see, that's her flash. I'm exhausted. Uh-oh, this is just This is just misery, misery, misery, misery. Now, like, I don't think I can kill that guy ever, so let's just like walk away. And again, when we're behind, the worst you can do is make things worse by trying to like force crap on the map. So I'm just gonna walk away. Maybe I can chunk this Qiyana here. We got our ulti, great. Now Quinn is going straight to top lane, so let's grab this mid wave. Quinn is just, just doing her thing top lane. We almost have Black Cleaver. The top bot crab is not up because we just did the top crab. Quinn is— Quinn has lost it. Quinn has genuinely lost it. We've dug ourselves a little bit of a grave, but it's okay. I'm going to show you guys how to— what to do to get out of it. Right now, the clear person to play around is bot lane. But what I'll— what I like to add here is the fact that the Vayne has no Flash. We saw her use Flash, so we know for a fact that Vayne is Flashless. Let's consider that when we have an Ornn We have an Ornn, so it's possible to pressure through the top lane. Okay, at the same time, we want to recall to get some stats. Let's buy a Phage. I bought an extra Long Sword. I wish that was a Dark Seal. Top lane, we could try to play through the Ornn when Ornn has ulti. The hard part about this position is looking at mid lane, seeing what's happening here. Okay, she's walking forward. Can ult through her, cuz that's just Volibear combo right there. I ult through her root, I flash, I flash to follow, and with PTA and the extra Long Sword, actually We're able to get to snag that kill there. Let's grab a plate mid lane as well. Bang! And let's go walk towards the top side. I think I saw Hecarim up here too. My Quinn goes ballin', she does a super play, good for her. Let's see if this crab is up. It's gone. Okay, that means Hecarim is for sure giga up there. Now I do want to be careful, I do want to be mindful of this Hecarim coming around here. What I can do is Hecarim is probably coming. But if my Ornn lands this, the guy's dead. Okay, Ornn missed. Wait, this guy ran into me. Great, brilliant. All right, let's just walk away here. All right, the guy ran into me, so that was great. Yo, chill, chill, chill. You're good, you're good. All right, look at that, guys. We had a really dogshit early game, right? But we're stabilizing by farming our camps and playing through the small windows we have. The small window was the Qiyana inting by a little bit, and the other window we had was that Vayne, who we knew was flashless. So we've looked for an opportunity in the topside because we knew Vayne was flashless. Let's recall here and let's reassess. While we recall, let's think. Vayne's going to have flash now. Qiyana has no flash, but it's Qiyana. My Ezreal has a Triforce, so Ezreal is giga strong. Gigafed. So let's maybe go ahead and play through the Ezreal. I don't know, I'm losing to the shopkeeper right now. Okay, play through Ezreal, but in the meantime I might go ahead and just farm more camps. No, I'm going to go play through Ezreal. What is this? Look at this. No, no, we can go to the dragon now. Bonk. Play through your winning lane and good things will happen. We can probably get this dragon here too, and the game now doesn't even look like we're behind anymore. We've, we've stabilized because we're using small windows and we're playing through the fed, the fed teammate. Okay, don't get me wrong, this play right here mid lane required a lot of, you know, Volibear precision, but that's why you one trick, guys. You need to know your limits. That's what one tricking does for you. Qiyana's going here. Volibear's getting dove in the top lane, or Ornn is. Let's farm all of our camps all the way up towards the top side. We probably want to play to steal caps this game. Their entire top side's AD and they auto attack a good bit. Okay, let's just keep farming. What are we farming for? We're farming for a second item. And right now our Ezreal is ready to play the game. So we are considering how can we help and enable Ezreal. For the time being, there's probably not much we can do for Ezreal. So I'm just gonna keep farming. I'm gonna farm my camps as fast as I can. When I have my camps fully cleared, that's when I can go crazy and help my teammates for as long as humanly possible. So right now, I'm trying to one-shot these camps. I'm trying to clear as fast as I possibly can so I can go help my Ezreal afterwards. Again, help the Ezreal however we can. Play with that teammate. Bang. When you play with your fed teammate, the game gets significantly easier. Now his entire bot side is up. We can see that respawn, and we can also see the Xerath. He's going to die to Quinn. But while Hecarim is dead for 9 seconds, we're gonna farm his entire bot side. So this is our window back into the game, even though he got 2 crabs. You find your opportunity nice and slowly. It wasn't even like my bot lane was gigafed. He had his item. I made a play around him, and now the game is just one-sided favor towards us. So what do we do to win this game? We want to play for Herald. We want to stack Dragons. We want to play around our fed teammates still. So nothing has changed. If this guy walks forward, I play with him. If he walks backwards, I walk backwards. You match what you're doing to your fed teammate. I'm also going to go for more of a defensive items. I'm not going to try to buy anything crazy because I want to facilitate for my Ezreal. Wow, the Hecarim just used ulti there. Like, look at what this guy is doing. This guy is doing tricks on them right now. So play through Ezreal as much as I can. Every play is being played through— being, being done through Ezreal. Okay, for right now they seem lowkey fine. Again, I can— I have plate of steelcaps, I have armor, I should be okay. Great. We're also really close to our next item. We're 1,700 gold off, so let's just farm. So Ezreal's about to recall, right? So right now is a great farming timer for us because Ezreal's in base. So while Ezreal's in base, I'm gonna use this time to farm as much as I can. That means using my smite to double camp, pulling camps early to farm efficiently. And look at Ezreal's items— he has 2 items. So my Quinn and my Ornn, look, they have 70, 70, 80 CS. So they're useless this game, okay? Like, it made the game harder because I was pathing towards top lane, and it turns out that they're useless. I also fucked up mid lane, but my Ezreal is the one I want to play through. Okay, we have this Herald and we have a Dragon coming up. Because I'm in the top side already, it's a bit easier to just play for the, um, the Herald. That guy's one-tapped. Okay, Yuumi got— Yuumi got freaking jailed. Ezreal has the Flash. Okay, so this Dragon is definitely theirs, 1000% theirs. So let's try to maybe take the Herald if we can. Oh fuck, that's not good. Okay, that guy's a gunner. I thought I had my, uh, my stun ready, but my stun was not ready. Unfortunately, but we did get Vayne's flash there. Okay, so my stun wasn't ready. They're going to get this dragon. I did get the Herald. I managed to like sneak that. I managed to snag the Herald. Let's grab this wave. Let's grab the top camps. Try to grab our Iceborn Gauntlet. Okay, so this game, when Ezreal's dead, we can't fight shit, but But if Ezreal's alive, we can do whatever we want. Unfortunately, Ezreal got caught up in, in, you know, this Herald fight. I wish he was dead earlier. The Vayne also had teleport, so Ezreal kind of got snagged by the teleport. I'm gonna recall here. I have my second item. I want— oh, oh, oh. I'm gonna recall here. I have my second item. I want to play through Ezreal very badly. Should be able to walk it off. Very nice. I, I definitely want this item. I don't want to be staying on the map. I don't want to get caught lacking. Now we could also look to pressure the Vayne and get her picked off. That's also an option. And by no means is this game won. I might have stabilized my game, but by no means is this game like won or necessarily easy. We have to play very, very, very calculated to win this game. Okay, Quinn is level 9, keep that in mind. Ezreal is up in the top side. I'm gonna go ahead and say that there's, there's not much for us to do. There's a lot of vision that we have. Let's let Ezreal keep farming. I want to keep farming. We all want to keep farming and get our items and scale a little bit. Now I don't want to get spotted by this wave, so what I'm going to do is E here, pull the camp up here where I won't get spotted by the wave. Ezreal has E, he should never die here. I highly doubt it. Beautiful. Now I could go ahead and walk in with my Ezreal. Okay, just play with that Ez. Okay, okay, he flashed out. Let's guard our Ezreal with our life. Fuck, that's not good. Actually, that's— that is okay. Ezreal is kiting like a G right now. No way this guy's alive. Quinn's here too. Okay, I should be fine. I'm not taking too much damage. Let's leave. I'm going to walk away here. Let's get on out. Quinn's going to get that kill. Beautiful. Oh my God, this Yuumi is doing beautiful things. Now let's— Xerath might walk back towards mid lane. Let's see if he does. If he does, I'm gonna jump him. Otherwise, let's just recall and let's go reconvene with this Ezreal. This is a very chaotic game, but as long as we're playing through Ezreal, everything should be fine. As you can see, I'm walking back when I think Ezreal's dead, and I'm walking back in when I think I can play through him. If he is like unable to do anything in the fight, the fight's over. We're no longer fighting. In the meantime, what do I do during the downtime while my teammates are recalling? And while they're in base, I'm gonna clear camps as fast as I can and then connect with my teammate. This Vayne is not stepping up too far forward. Okay, my teammates are back and ready to play the map, so I'm gonna farm as fast as I can and get to my teammates. At this point, I have some bot camps I'm gonna have to give up in terms of timing. I need to go towards the fight right away. I need to get there. Okay. Hecarim's getting caught. Great. Xerath's going to get caught here too. Vayne gets caught. Beautiful. We should go for the Baron. We don't need to do that. Just come for the Baron. It's hard to chase there, guys. It's very hard to chase. Ezreal has 3 items. Play through Ezreal. Our Quinn and Ornn useless. They're just like, they just exist in the game. We can also buy Mejai's or Shiki Mejai's. We don't have much AP damage. They're not really buying much armor though. Ezreal's staying, I'm gonna stay. They need frontline, right? So I'm gonna stay for my team, for my Ezreal, for my Yuumi, because they need frontline. So I will go frontline, I will go tank everything, and depending on whether— when they're in danger, I will help them. Here we are. I will frontline for you guys. Now we walk back, we go slowly. I want to pull the dragon out. Oh shit, the Hecarim's top lane. This dragon's just ours. I'm going to pull the dragon out and I'm going to mark it with my W. If I have the dragon marked with my W, it's very hard for, for them to do anything to us. Quinn is doing this, I should help him. Beautiful. I don't want to let my teammate just die there for no reason. Ezreal's finishing the Drake, sounds good. I'm going to be careful of the, the Vayne, the Qiyana. Oh, Qiyana went that way. Okay, Ezreal's recalling. Let's recall. Here's a trick: if your fed teammate is recalling, you recall too. A lot of people fuck this up. A lot of people would have stayed for that camp there because that camp looked so juicy. That camp looks so good. But this is way better. If I'm— if my teammates are recalling and I can recall, the map will look a lot better if you play it like that. Let's see what's going on with this Ornn. Not looking too good. That's fine. But at least we're here with our Ezreal. This means a lot for my Ezreal. And Yuumi, I get to dive the, the Xerath. Okay, that's probably all it's going to be. Hecarim's coming up in 2 seconds. At least we've got to dive the Xerath. Let's go heal a little bit because Ezreal still wants to play. If Ezreal still wants to pressure, I'm going to heal from this camp. Chomp. Now let's go behind this guy and play with him. I was here for moral support, but that's what you gotta do when you're playing with your strong teammate. You gotta synchronize everything. You guys think if I stayed for that camp I'd be able to dive the Xerath? Absolutely not. But because I skipped the camp, recalled with my teammate, I was able to easily play with my Ezreal, which amounted in a huge dive mid lane. What the fuck? This guy just killed him off my screen. Fuck is happening? I mean, this game should be wrapped. I don't think Hecarim's like playing the game. Great. Just tank for Ezreal. Oh, the Quinn's just chasing Hecarim. Okay. And that's it, guys. From a dogshit early game, we gave him a nice little kill to stabilizing to winning the game with my Quinn, who is like 100 CS. I'm double my Quinn. And Ornn's CS. It is what it is. Sometimes you have a winning lane, you got to play through them and win. Real quick, guys, if you've been looking for my tier list, take a look at junglekingdom.gg/tierlist. There you'll also be able to find my champion guides attached. I'll be updating the tier list and the guides every single patch. All right, back to the video. All right, we have another Volibear game where we're playing against a Zac. We have a Vayne versus Teemo in the top lane, so it's spicy, and a Senna-Smolder scaling little bot lane going on. With a Nami Blitz. So Blitzcrank is a little strong, but he has a smolder. Senna and Nami are like scaling, they're happy to scale. TF and Yone, I mean, it might be a little bloody, but honestly TF does so little damage. But top lane is giga war, okay? As you can already see, this is giga war. Look at that. They're fighting to the fucking death. So I'm pathing towards top. I have a feeling that Zac is also pathing towards top. The thing is, their Zac could do a 3-camp into top gank. Or my top laner could also get solo killed. Either way, it's not good. Not a good start. So we're pathing towards a lane where our top laner is dead. What do we do? Let me show you guys. Oh, here's the trick. When you have a losing teammate, it doesn't matter if you're pathing towards that teammate. You need to play the game based off of what is logical given your laners. Okay, in this game, my, my top laner is not doing good, but It's Vayne Teemo. Vayne or Teemo has 0 CS. Vayne has 0 as well. The point is Vayne and Teemo, the lane stays spicy forever. Teemo could be up 5 kills, Vayne can still win. And likewise, Vayne could be up 5 kills, Teemo can still win. So no matter what, it's going to be spicy top lane and I can interact with top lane. How do I decide when to interact? I need to base things off of the wave. So right now the wave is going into their side. Because the wave is going into their side, it is very difficult, and I mean very, very, very difficult for me to gank the Teemo. Given how the wave is looking as well, the Zac could easily kill this Vayne if he's sitting in that bush, which I don't think he is. Okay, nice. So Zac was top lane, that means his bot camps are up. But look, I can't gank the lane because Teemo's catching a wave. If Vayne gives up pressure and lets the Teemo push into her, then maybe I could gank. But right now, all I'm looking at is, can I dive their Teemo if he gets low enough? Maybe, maybe not. Look at his HP, he's getting kind of low. Let's on the way ping our Vayne. If Vayne wants to push, she can. I'm gonna go forward here and pressure. I'm gonna ping bot lane because we know Zac is in the bot side. Speaking small, I speak big. And let's apply some pressure to this Teemo. So that is how we decide, are we ganking, are we fighting? Beautiful, right? Are we ganking or are we farming or recalling? Sorry. So if your lane is pushing into them, you can dive. If your lane is— if the lane— if their lane is pushing into you, you can gank. Let's say the Teemo didn't use blind there, or the Teemo was a bit healthier, I definitely would not have looked to do that. But because the conditions Just looks so good. The Teemo blinded, uh, he was 1 HP. I went in and I full comboed him. We got that extra kill. Look at what happens to little Teemo there. He— oh no, he, he lost it. Great. Okay, he still lost the cannon. Good. He lost a good amount there. Not the end of the world, but he lost a good amount. Just because your teammate dies early doesn't mean you can't play through them. You need to look for opportunity. You look— need to look for windows where you can get kills. Okay, you can get pressure. You also need to know your limits, okay? This is why one-tricking is so important. So all my Volibear players out there, you better know how to play, uh, Mr. Volibear from this point on. Now the Zac has a Dark Seal. I have a Dark Seal plus a Pickaxe. What I'm going to do for sure is play for his Raptors in response to him playing for my Raptors there. Now this guy is going to likely E over the wall and try to play for his Raptor cap. We want to go pressure this guy hard. Okay, we can walk on out here. We got that guy's flash. Let's go back to farming. And I want this Raptor camp back, so it's good. And the Vayne gets the freeze top lane. So Zac is 1 HP. We got Zac's flash and Yone's flash. The entire time there, guys, I followed one simple rule to fight better than a lot of you guys. The one rule was I'm fighting to not die, and that's it. That's the key thing. When you fight, you play to not die. As long as you're trying to live, you'll be fine in the fight. But the moment you're committed and the moment you're like, okay, I'm going to fight to the death, that's when things get really, really, really, really, really bad. So always play to live whenever you fight anything. Okay, now this Teemo's trying to recall here. Let's go cancel him. Now, this might not seem like a lot, but it actually does mean a lot. Now if Vayne pushes this wave, Teemo's going to lose it. Even if Vayne pushes slowly, Teemo's going to lose a good bit there. If you can cancel the enemies, always. I mean always. Like 97% of the time. Cancel them. There's like very few cases where you don't want to cancel the enemy. Now the Zhonya is walking up like a fucking psycho. I don't like that. Okay, so this guy should just die here. Beautiful. I mean, he's disrespecting there. We're going— we're going to get a kill. Now Zac is far— now Zac showed up in the bot lane. He could go for the dragon. He could also invade my camps. Here's what I'm gonna do, guys. Here's what I'm gonna say. I saw Zac in the bot lane on the glimpse of— a glimpse of vision. I saw him there. He was probably ganking bot lane. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna say, hey, fuck whatever's going on in the bot side. I need to like fuck my camps too. I'm super duper low. What I'm going to do is I'm going to invade his top side, okay? Because I have pressure through mid lane and I know for a fact that he was bot lane, so he can't necessarily do anything to me there. And Senna's pinging me like a psychopath, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and mute my, mute my Senna. Can full combo this guy when he goes to hit the ward. Little bit disrespectful from you, bro. Beautiful. And because we got the kill and we know he's dead, let's look at what Teemo is doing. He's not coming to contest me. I can play for his red buff here because I know he doesn't have it. Let's grab his red. We're building a massive lead. Who are we playing around? Our Twisted Fate. Our Twisted Fate is the king of the rift in this game, so every play we make, we want to play around him. Let's farm a bit. What we can do is we can farm these grubs. Every grub gives you 30 gold. Don't forget that, okay? 30 gold might not seem like a lot. It's not too much, but it's something, okay? Every camp is something. Yo, if this Grub resets, I'm gonna lose it. I'm gonna— I was about to lose it. Now they need to fix Grubs. They need to fix Grubs. That's— that was disturbing. So the Zac went bot lane, he's pressuring hard. There's a full mid wave for me to catch because TF teleported down there. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go towards the mid wave. The Yone is probably gonna over— overpressure too. He's running now. Okay, now very important, guys, we muted this— the Smolder— the Smolder or the Senna way early on. If we don't have this guy muted, he's going to be bitching and moaning and bitching and moaning. It is so important there to just mute that guy because he's a— he's, he's going to be pinging, he's going to be mad. We're going to full clear sequence up towards the top lane, keep our farm, keep our lead. What I'm looking to do is I'm looking to farm for our second item. If I can grab my second item, I'm going to dominate this game. So what's my second item? Always going to be like Iceborn almost always. It's just such a solid item. You have the haste, you have the extra damage, you have the Sheen. It's, it's just so good. TF and Vayne are great to play towards. Now, now the Vayne's like not doing great, but it's relevant. The TF is giga strong. The only reason why it's somewhat possible to play through Vayne, even though that looks awful, is because the Teemo is really easy to just generically kill. Like generally a Teemo is like really squishy, right? So we can go ahead and pressure hard up in the top side. And well, if Teemo does that, it's gonna be even easier to kill him. Okay, so my Senna likely is spam pinging me and not happy with how this game is going. Games like this are gonna happen. The best thing for you to do is to understand that, hey, I have a winning mid laner and I have a teammate who really wants to win. My mid laner and my top laner, he wants to win. Play through the people who want to win. Don't let that one guy make you play worse. Mute him and move on. You're always going to have people doing, saying, playing, and just the most egregious things. You'll always see it no matter what. Okay, got his flash. It was super duper close. Very close. I thought I could nab him there. If I had boots, I definitely would have been able to nab him there. This Teemo looks like he wants to proxy here. So because he wants to proxy, I can definitely look to try to kill him. Okay, I had to go around because he was going to— he was going to like spot me on vision. Oh, we can't kill him sadly. My Vayne missed— missed— or my Nami missed ultimate, unfortunately. Shit is what it is. Okay, so bot lane, not— can't play through them. Like, even if I go bot lane, we're going to get dove. Nothing's going to be pretty. Senna's going top lane. Let's just keep trying to play around TF as best we can. Their Yone is getting pretty strong too. It is what it is. Sometimes games just get hard because some teammate does not want to play the game. That happens. I have a feeling he's coming— he's coming to fight with me. Oh no, he's going top lane. Okay. It's like, how weird is that going to be? It happens every game. You'll never escape it, guys. Fuck. I chunk that guy out, walk away. Senna's fighting hard in the top side. I don't know why I'm fighting with Senna. This is awful. I don't know why I'm fighting with the Senna, the wrong person. I'm playing through the wrong person. If you're in a game state like this Just remember, you cannot play with that inting teammate. That guy doesn't want to win. He clearly, clearly— look at, look at the way he's playing. He does not— he's not interested in winning. So stay away from him. That's how, that's how you can try and win. You have to stay away from that guy. Okay, Vayne, I told you she wants to win. My TF wants to win. Let's play through the people who want to win. I can never interact with the Senna ever again. I'm still farming decently, but I need to make sure we just mute this guy, report him, and move the fuck on. And guys, I'm playing in streamer mode, so it's not like they know who I am, right? Because I feel like if they knew who I was, maybe they don't int as hard. That's the thing, I'm giving you guys the true League experience. This is not like an uncommon scenario. I'm sure you guys have experienced this time and time again. But here's the thing, I have someone who wants to win. I have 2 people who want to win. I'm not going to lose my mind, cry, cry about the Senna. No, no, no, we're gonna win this game. This is what mentality does for you. So even though we see this and it's like, oh, boohoo, just let the guy die. Let's farm what we can. Let's go towards the top side. Okay. This guy's just going to kill himself like that. I'll take the kill, bro. I'm pretty strong, I'm not weak. I've been farming well, man. Can just walk on out here. This guy's going to get one-shot, unfortunately. Now my Vayne, again, she's— she has items, she's relatively strong. I want to play through her if I can. Take this crab, walk away. Vayne wants to recall, probably buy Hexplate. Great. Senna's dead again, that's fine. Senna's even trolling her items. Let's say no to the FF. Beautiful. Again, play with the people who want to win the game, cuz every game is winnable. We have a full Iceborn here, let's buy this. Okay, I have a slow on him. I have move speed here, dude. That is ridiculous. That Teemo damage is kind of crazy. I did not expect that whatsoever. Yo, that Teemo damage was nuts. I'm going to get some MR, bro. I'm going to get some MR. I don't know what else to say. I'm going to get some MR. Oh, this Nami, bro. Oh, this Nami is not it. Vayne, 2 items, strong. TF, 2 items, almost RFC, even stronger. Okay, once TF gets RFC, we're going to have a lot of poke in fights. We're going to have a lot of strength through him. He's really, really, really close. Okay, so what I want to do, find fights through him, to be honest, because he is generally just going to be a bit easy to play through, especially. I was able to get my W off. Beautiful, beautiful. And if they're going 5 bot lane, what I could do is Herald mid or Herald top turret, but probably just going to Herald mid at some point. Their, their Smolder actually has 3 items. Lowkey, their Smolder is one of the strongest on the enemy team right now. Hey, beautiful. Senna can go ball in and try to defend the bot turret. I have Herald up in a bit, I could use that later. Can play for his camp here. Let's look to recall. Can defend whatever's left of bot side. I can take the gate on this guy too. Oh, this guy's getting himself killed. I'm not even going to give that guy any Q so he can, he can survive. We have Hextech Drake coming up. Let's play for the dragon and play through this TF. I'm probably walking over a lot of wards right now, so I need to wait for Nami. Vayne's recalling. We need to wait for Vayne. We need to play with the Nami. We need to play with the TF as well. I don't want to get hit by hooks, but I, I have to be the one face checking. Ah, it's, it's, it's, it's just too rough. It's too early and I needed to use my E to check. Okay, they're kind of going a little deep though, which is very good. They're going too deep. Look at this Vayne. Nice pop-off from Vayne. Okay, Senna's gonna get a little bit top lane, that's fine. Senna's gonna get gold. Like, this game is hard as fuck. Note to self: I cannot facecheck against Blitzcrank. I forgot about Blitzcrank. It happens. Let's not let that same mistake happen again this game. It can hap— well, like, they're gonna get Soul, they're gonna get Elder. If they get Elder, it's really hard to win, but Soul— It is what it is. Like, in Hextech Souls, it's not good, but it's not game over. Our Vayne is very close to Stormrazor, 1,600 gold. TF has 3 items, so play off TF poke, play off TF ultimate. Not an easy game to win. Now these guys are going too deep here. This is overdoing it. I'm gonna heal here by a bit. Senna's like trying to play the game. Look at that. All it takes is a bit of a winning position and Senna's like, yeah, we can win this game, bro. That's Baron for us. They overdid it. They overextended. Great. Kill this guy too. Give me that. So Vayne is going to be really close to her item. Fuck me over, bro. Bonk. That's Smolder flash. Vayne's going to go in. Beautiful. I'm listening to ping's Vayne there, or Vayne's ping's there. I saw Vayne ping on the way twice, so what am I going to do with my Vayne's pings? I'm gonna go in, I'm gonna respect, I'm gonna listen. Like, yo, Vayne wants to go, I wanna go too. Because who's strong this game? Who's carrying? Who's doing anything relevant? It's this Vayne. Okay? So when Vayne goes, I go. If Vayne doesn't go, I don't go. But I'm looking at the map, I saw Vayne looping around, I heard the pings on the way, on the way, so I'm gonna play through the Vayne. Now right now in this circumstance, we're probably only gonna get the inhib, so I'm gonna push mid lane to get turrets. Down here as well. TF dies, so let's like leave. I'm gonna get the wave, I'm going to recall. Senna has now started playing the game because she realizes, "Oh wow, hmm, we can win. Maybe inting the game is not good." That's what always happens to these stupid little inters. They think the game is over, they think the game is losing, they wanna int the game. It's pathetic. Actually pathetic. That's how you do it, guys. When you have int teammates, you just don't give up. You just keep playing, you keep playing, you find your winning teammate who wants to win the game, you play through them. Now I'm going to facecheck here because I see Teemo and my Vayne is next to me. A little deep, but they're going even deeper. That's why we're going full tank items, by the way. And I'm with my team. As long as I'm with my team, beautiful shit will happen. Not an easy game, right? But I started that fight knowing I'm full tank Volibear and I can face tank a good amount at least. And what do we do after this game, guys? We do a little victory dance. We're winning LP. And then we do the report Senna into create a ticket and it's even better. Don't forget to create a ticket too. Like, Riot is now hammering down inters like this. So now you do a double victory dance. Stupid inting teammate. Play with your winning lanes. That's how you come back in games that aren't very easy. You won't even have any dragons. But when you play well around your fed teammates, you can make miracles happen. Alright, we have a Volibear versus Jarvan game here. We have a double Ignite top lane matchup and we have a Leona, Senna, Jhin. Okay, so this type of game is really, really, really, really, really interesting because my bot lane is going to get crushed. They're going to be under their turrets. As you guys can see, they already had to recall. And honestly, pathing top lane would make sense, but because I have a Leona on my team, if we connect on the enemy bot lane a single time, if we get an E connect, a flash, flash stun connect, their top lane or their bot lane should just die. Like, I have enough damage where we should just be able to kill them. That's why I'm pathing bot lane. That on top of the fact that we want to play for Dragons. So generally speaking, pathing towards bot lane feels nice. Aatrox, you know, has some good setup, but I don't think he's going to be doing too great in the top side in the early game at least. He is going to be stuck under his turret, I think. Rumble's just one of those champions that are very oppressive early game. As for the mid lane matchup, we have double scaling. My Veigar is Ignite Veigar, so he's gonna be maybe playing a little more aggressively than usual. But for the most part, Veigar's a scaling champion, and so is Swain. So we got like a scaling mid. Bot lane is like, they're scaling, but if we can jump them, they're dead. So I'm gonna look for those opportunities to jump the enemies after my camps are cleared. But my number one priority: clear my camps first. If I'm skipping camps and I'm looking for to make plays, generally bad things happen. I'm walking over a ward, or maybe they play a little safe. I need to be like thoughtful of them. Okay, that's cleanse already. No, Smolder! Okay, a 3 for 2 in the bot side, and we got, we got a lot of their sums. It's not the end of the world. Okay, mid lane and top lane, they don't look too favorable for us. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to run straight to this bot crab. I'm going to get this bot crab. Let's look at this bot wave. Doesn't look very favorable for us either, but that gives my Smolder some scalability in this game. He got 2 kills, and now their lane has a lot less pressure on them. This Jhin's also disrespecting as fuck right now. And honestly, they might be able to kill the Jhin. Wow, disrespectful Jhin. No way, it's disrespectful Sona as well, or Senna. Okay, they just lost this, the fattest wave ever. Even though it's like, oh, they died 2 for 2, look at the wave they just lost. Okay, let's go back and farm. We're going— our camp sequencing is going to be a little bit awkward this game, but we just have to make do with that because we skipped our blue buff and We want the bot crab because we're not getting the top crab, so we're gonna have to make do with it. It's okay. It gives us a slight opportunity to maybe gank top lane, but this Rumble seems a little too healthy and my Aatrox seems to be getting a bit fucked over. Now I can help the Aatrox. It is possible for me to come help him. This guy's fucking dead. Unfortunately, my, my Aatrox didn't have W there. If the Aatrox just W'd normally, I think the whole situation would have been a lot more different. All right, let's go towards the bot side. We're going to go ahead and buy ourselves boots, and I'm going to buy a Ruby Crystal. The reason why I'm doing this is because I think we're going to be fighting in the bot side. I would, I would go Long Sword or Dirk Seal if we were winning and if I knew I could just farm, But this game, like, it looks like war this game. It looks like anytime I come bot lane, we're going to fight. And they're already fighting, so I'm gonna go ahead and make my way towards the bot lane, like, ahead of time. Uh, Smolder's getting jumped. Senna has finally used Flash. I'm gonna keep walking forward. I'm not on vision again this time. Let's keep walking. I'm gonna dodge this to not get hit. Oh, I did get slowed anyway. Fuck. Okay, we get that kill. One for one. The Senna got a kill, Leona got a kill. That's fine. We also use their, uh, their guy's time. Let's go back and farm our camps then. Again, bot is war, and this Leona, that's how Leona kind of needs to play. If Leona does not get to do this, it's really bad for Leona's game. We have a losing top lane, a bot lane that's like not farming too well, but we're getting some kills, and a mid laner that's farming pretty well. So we have mid lane to think about, uh, other than my bot lane. So play through mid, play through, uh, play through bot, maybe get one top kill if we can. But he has a Cloth Armor early, so we have to consider he has a Cloth Armor. He's going to be a bit harder to kill because of this. My Veigar has 2 Ruby Crystals. What that means, guys, we need to pay attention to that. What that means, it's going to be very hard for us to actually deal enough damage to this Swain. Um, I feel like that's going to hurt our damage output on the mid lane play. Uh, after I clear this red buff, I'm probably just going to do the Krugs and I'm going to look to recall. Great, volume looks awful for us right now. All right, Leona's like getting fucked over under the turret. And just, it's just how it is. This is just sort of how the game goes when you have a scaling bot lane and a Leona against those two strong-ass, uh, champions, Jhin and Senna. They're really strong in lane, but we have some opportunity to like get them back. We'll get our get back essentially. Okay, Leona connected that, that root. That means Senna is going to die here, which gives me the opportunity to go play for this dragon. I need to ping my mid laner to be careful on the top side. The the Jarvan has potential to go mid lane. Now my Veigar is farming actually pretty nicely. He has a lot of AP. So truthfully told, we might be able to actually play through my mid laner. That was Jarvan's ulti. Now I could do something crazy here, and I'm going to. Because I know that guy has no flash, he just used Ghost. I want some resources back in our, in our pockets. If I don't get the resources back in our pockets, this game is going to progressively get harder and harder. It's not like we're winning this game. It's not like we're ahead. We're actually like behind. Um, let me ping this guy there. We need to go defend bot lane. I know that the Jarvan has no ultimate as well, so we should be fine to take this. My Veigar's here to defend me. Let's recall for our item. Our Leona is level 6. We can go play through the Leona. We can go help the Veigar as well. Veigar is, again, farming really, really, really, really, really well. Veigar is like my hope in this game because my top laner is down triple this guy's CS and 0/3. So not only is his name Owen, he is 28 CS, which is awful. Smolder also has like barely any stacks. Awful. Okay, bot lane is fighting hard. I do want to come for this. Okay, that's just a tad bit unfortunate, but I think I'm fucking cooked here. My Leona unfortunately missed E, and this really sucks. This is why you do not ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever want to skip camps when you're you're making plays like this because they can't— they have a chance, they have a good chance to invade your camps. Oh, very sad. Very, very, very miserably sad. All right, again, no more bot plays. That's fine. Let's just play through our mid laner. We have a lot of scaling though. We'll be able to be relevant in this game as it progresses. Or my teammates will. Maybe not my top laner, but my— at least my mid laner will scale and my ADC will scale. The goal isn't to win with this comp. I should have clarified, the goal isn't to win early game with this comp. We have a double scaling— we have double scaling champs, so as the game progresses, things will feel better. Okay, one for one. Their Senna will be one mile smolder. Okay, top laner is probably dead again. He's down 3 freaking levels. That is not pretty. He's in that bush. I'm going to run at the bush here. Oh, it's too hard to kill him. Let me push the wave then. That guy is genuinely so strong, but again, we scale. Let's just keep trying to— keep trying to scale. Let's evenly farm camps here. Drop into the top side. This guy is going to get himself dove. Okay, nice. Jhin got a solo kill. Great. Okay, nice. Good stuff bot lane at least. What the hell was that? Okay, we also have an early Dragon, so our mid laner is giga scaling, our ADC is giga scaling, and we have a mid laner who is giga cooking. So we have a— we have ways to win this game. I'm gonna sit on early Null Magic as well. If I ever interact with Rumble or the Swain, the Null Magic is helpful. Um, and I'm going to go for like pure tank, of course. Iceborn into Spirit Visage. Our Veigar is recalling. Our Veigar has no teleport. So what I want to consider here is just going slowly, not hard forcing, not overdoing it, because we don't have our teammate with us. Now what we can do here is play in the bot side. Okay, at least we're going to get some mid plates, so all this is fine. What I will say, guys, is in a game like this where you have the scaling team, if you trade gold, if you trade summoners, if you trade EXP like you're happy, okay? As long as you're getting something in return, it's okay. Is it ideal? Not really. You want to keep winning. But if you get something, it's never necessarily a bad thing. Veigar's getting more gold. Great. But I will say in this, in these scenarios, if you can stack a dragon, stack the dragon. Now, I'm not going to carry this game by any means. My champion is not amazing into theirs. They have double kite, they have a Swain, I can't ever really kill him. I'm never ever ever going to be too useful, so farming a lot is not worth it. Let's simply play for an objective and use our time to do that. That's the best case or the best use of my time, playing for this objective. Now this Jarvan has a bigger smite than me, but you need to keep that in mind. But as long as we get this dragon— this Jarvan killed himself. We're happy. So with the things going on in this game, we're very, very, very happy. Somehow, magically, my top laner also solo killed their top laner. Let's play around our scaling Veigar and our scaling Smolder. That's the trick, guys. When you have the scaling comp, if you trade gold, it's never bad. They're the ones who need to hard, hard, hard win in the early game. So if they're the ones trading gold, it's not good for them. Just remember that, guys. Whenever you have the scaling team, trading gold is fine. If they, um, and if they're down to trade, fucking trade. Go one for one, it's fine. Ideally you win, but in a game state where you scale, just scale. This Jarvan is also feeling the pressure. He knows that this game is slipping out of his hands because His team comp does not scale too well into ours. Our Smolder and our Veigar are going to do a lot. So because their Jarvan is kind of getting pressured, he's playing very, very, very poorly. You can tell he's like panicking in these fights. He's like, oh my gosh, they have the scaling comp and we're losing second dragon. Fuck. You can visibly tell his panic in these fights. We have Leona here. This guy has full, full Maw. He'll never die here. Beautiful. You can try to play for this crab as well. Can kill that guy too. My E misses, that's fine. But what I might be able to look to do is this guy just use cleanse. So he might just get dove here. That's Jhin's— that's Jhin's Flash and Cleanse. Their Jhin is fucked. I know you guys might think I'm a, like, a psychopath for doing that, but their Jhin having no Cleanse or Flash guarantees we win this next fight because I'll have my flash and I'm going to jump this Jhin. So that's why, if you're wondering why am I trying to dive this guy so badly, that's what I'm looking to do right there. This guy is going to get cooked here. Absolutely cooked here. Their Jarvan is feeling the pressure. We have the scaling comp, yo, and he's feeling it. All right, let's go ahead and let's go grab this next kill potentially on the Jhin. Aatrox is putting in work here too. What up, Jhin? Sorry, okay, I don't know why I'm BMing him, but like, this game is like out of their control entirely. And it's sad, it's sad because their Jarvan didn't get a single dragon, didn't pressure correctly a single time, even though he is the one who has a massive lead with how fed his bot lane is. And then this guy's going to lose all these camps. Like, I could flash to kill him, but we could also just chase him normally. Just be normal here and chase him to death. Like, you're fucking cooked, bro. Like, what are you doing, bro? Why are you flashing? Like, what does this guy think, he can run? Baron and— I mean, we can grab this dragon too. The dragon secures the game. The Baron is more fun. Let's just secure the game and win. Look at my Veigar, he has 500 AP, 550. My Smolder has 180 stacks. I relieved bot lane pressure. My top laner somehow is winning. I don't really know how that's happening, but I'm definitely going to make sure we win here. I'm not letting my Aatrox lose whatsoever in this position. Chomp that guy's head off and let's go ahead and Herald bot turret. Look at our Veigar. Veigar's going to try to get that guy. Nice try. Bang! Super play. Now I am lowkey worried about this Aatrox getting jumped by Jarvan, but he has Flash. And he has, um, ulti, so he should be fine. I think this guy lowkey can win if he's, if he's the GOAT. Okay, he's not the GOAT. Not the GOAT, I confirm. We don't have any carries up here. Let's go straight to the Baron. Let's go to the Baron side. Buy this, buy these components. I have my Smolder, I have my Veigar. They're around, they're strong, they want to play. I want to play too. They're ready to pressure, so am I. I am lowkey by myself here. All right, we got Rumble. I'm happy. And Jhin ult. I have my entire team with me, so I'm down to frontline because my team is with me here. And now we could go for the Baron and just secure the game. Now what can they do? I have my whole team with me. They're going to FF. That's how you do it early game when you have a scaling comp. You always want to trade resources as much as you can, and that's how you do it, guys. Volibear vs Jarvan with a weird-ass comp on weird-ass early game, but we made it work. Alright guys, now that you've seen the Volibear series, let me know what you guys think about how things are going. If you want to see more, comment which champion you want to see. If you guys want to add different spices or change things, you have suggestions, definitely let me know on what I should be doing. Fundamentals video coming soon.
