Perry Norman breaks down a jungle mistake: taking Dragon right after a kill instead of recalling to spend gold and farm camps first. Tempo matters more than objectives. A premature Dragon pull against full-health laners costs the fight and the game.

This low elo mistake is probably costing you games. I see so many people throw their leads, throw their advantage because they're not playing for tempo. In this clip here, I get a beautiful kill on the Zed and then a beautiful kill on this Elise after. What you notice here right now, as I'm killing this Elise, right now Dragon is up. I just killed 2 enemies and a lot of people would have the instinct to just go pull the Dragon because I've killed 2 of them. That is why so many of you guys are probably stuck in lower elos. You have no idea how tempo works. Right now, if I look to recall, spend my gold, come back off map, there is zero chance for the enemies to win a fight. I have to really play awfully for them to win. And now if I go pull the dragon, I have a guaranteed window, guaranteed opportunity to secure the dragon, no risk whatsoever. If I had gone to pull that dragon there, I might have gotten contested by the enemy bot lane, or maybe even at least out of base, and I would have lost the fight. The enemy mid laner is also stronger, and so is the enemy bot laner. I would have completely thrown the game. Make sure to stop throwing your games by pulling objectives when you get kills. It's not always a guaranteed play just because you've killed the enemies. I've I've seen so many people do this. Play for your camps, play for your items, play for tempo.
